You just can't go wrong meditating on Psalm 23. I found this at the library and didn't know anything about Robert D. Lively, but I resonated with a lot of it because he's hitting the heart of this passage: trusting God. Fun to hear about it from someone in a different tradition and from a different background.

".. the writer of this psalm accomplished something that precious few have. This person actually discovered that his or her destiny is safe through embracing the spiritual principle that the only way out is in" (p. 142-3).

I bought and read this book years ago. I re-read it from time to time. Pastor Bob does a wonderful job of visiting Psalm 23 in a unique way. His writing is cleat, his story is compelling.
