What an absolute treat of a book.
Anna is a bounty hunter (a delightful job for a protagonist by the way) and she needs to retrieve one stolen painting, by... stealing it. But, Anna and her twin sister have the perfect plan for this heist to work.

What she didn't expect was, to come across Darius Masoud, a Disney prince lookalike that designed the security system Anna

Finishing this amazing book has reminded me yet again that I need to read April Whites entire backlist! She is truly phenomenal! I love Code of Conduct, and she went and did it again with Code of Honor!

Ive noticed with April that she writes gahmazing heroines! Strong, sexy, and super intelligent. I loved the humor, the sexual tension between the characters, and Darius is just so extra! I dont want to spoil a thing, but what I love the most about Aprils stories is how she wraps up the romance,

This story was such a joy to read!
    LOVED! LOVED! LOVED IT!

    Anna was AMAZING!
She is now one of my all-time favourite characters.
She was charismatic, fearless, intelligent, funny, loyal, loving, and her light shone so brightly.

If she was a real character, I would want to be her friend.

I was entertained, engaged, and totally got lost in this story.

    I couldn't put it down.
I didn't want to put it down and read it in one sitting.

I collect images from all around the internet (and a few personal friends' feeds) that inspire my characters, locations, and plots. This is the collage I pasted on my Code of Honor notebook of images that inspired me. If it helps you picture things, great. If you'd rather picture your own things, even better. In any case, I hope you enjoy Anna, Darius, and the story inspired by these images.

Darius seemed to think the grin was for him though, and his slow, answering smile started the fluttering right back up again. Dont do that, I said with a scowl.

Dont smile? A look of confusion dimmed the smile down to something the butterflies could manage, and I nodded.

Thank you. The sweaty butterflies were making me a little ill.

I won an advanced copy, but was not asked for a review. I am happy to give one anyway. If you liked the first book in the series this one will not disappoint. The main character is authentic and quirky. You will likely have something in common with her or want to be her friend. I had smile on my face with the first page and laughed out loud many times throughout the book. The wonderful way April White writes weaves together down to earth realism with whimsy and romance. Wow. What a magical story this was!
It read like a Disney fairytale for adults <3
I'm still searching for the right words to describe this book. It was perfectly researched, even though I have never been to Boston or Chicago or the Isabella Gardner Museum, I was there while reading the book. I discovered the history around the heist with Anna and Darius and stood in front of the beautiful pictures, learning about the stories they tell.
Anna and Darius were perfectly characterized. April

I'm enjoying the Ciper books from the Smartypants romance. There have this action mystery part fown plus very character driven aspect to it. Code of Honor has Thomas Crownr Affair feel to it. But then the two leads have their own ways of dealing with all that. Anna is the ultimate thrill seeker, she sees the world in grays. No filter, awkward and dorky at times. She's her own brand of different from her twin. So that twin aspect can be a skeptical thing some can tell the difference I guess some ...more

    I loved this so much!!!

This book took me by such surprise?!! which, honestly, it shouldn't have, considering how much I adored the first one.

One of the main points that went into my love of Code of Conduct was the scenes with the Knitting in the City group appearances, however, for this one, my love for it lies mainly on its own characters.

My personal code felt a little like a mix of Robin Hood and Mulan, with an unfortunate dose of Sid the filterless sloth. -Anna Collins

Anna was the heroine I didnt know I needed to read. She had personality aspects of many of my favorite Pennyverse heroines. (That being said you do not need to have read any Penny Reid books to love this story! It just adds a little something extra if you have and April does a fantastic job of staying true to her characters.) She is wicked smart,

April White was a new to me author with the Smartypants Romance Launch last year, but after hearing her talk about her experiences and her book at Book Bonanza, it was one of the ones I was most excited for. And it did not disappoint. Even more said with this next installment of the Cypher Security Series, I KNEW that this book was going to be amazing.

This book, just like the first one, was SO much better than I expected. I knew it would be good, dont get me wrong. After the first book in this series (Which was my first book by April White) I was reasonably sure this one would also be awesome. It still blew me away.

I am full on in love with Anna. She is the most badass heroine ever. She is basically a ninja, with no filter, a great imagination, and awesome creative instincts. Darius is equally amazing. My favorite thing about this book, (and

Now more than ever we need artists sharing their craft, and I can think of nothing better than getting lost in a good book for a few days, hours, weeks, depending on your reading speed. All though let's face it these days with everyone hopefully isolating themselves it is more like hours.

Code of Honor made me laugh out loud (and made me realize I hadn't done that in days), swoon, root for the heroine, boo the bad guy, and basically want to go out and buy all of Anna's tee shirts.

Darius is often amused by his woman, I was just staring at your p***s, wasnt I? she said in a tone of complete chagrin. Rarely did I meet someone even more straightforward than myself..." Anna is an odd one, and yet, here you are undeniably male. I waved my hand in an up-and-down motion that denoted my clear thoughts on the matter of his attractiveness." How do you describe a book that makes a character your spirit animal? I stumbled upon April White purely by happenstance. It has been an amazing fall through the looking glass ever since. I feel in love with the Immortal Descendants and have a fond relationship with Baker Street as I am still a lady in waiting (coughs). However, I am rambling.

April White is a damn fine storyteller. The way she paints a picture with words and can express even the most intricate feelings is beyond my comprehension. She is the master at taking actual events in history and seamlessly weaving them into her fictional world. Code of Honor was beyond anything I expected from this author, which is incredible given the fact that Id set the bar so high to begin with. If I could give this book 10 stars I would. ...more

Anyone who has, for any length of time, read romance knows that not all romances are created equal. What does that mean? You can read the same trope (enemies-to-lovers tends to be my favorite) by any number of writers, and their voices will be so distinct that you can fall in love with any of them (or the opposite). I am currently obsessed with April White. To be fair, I have just finished reading a second novel by her, Code of Honor, her second SmartyPants Romance book, and

And as pretty as his face was to look at, I didnt have time or attention for sweaty butterflies or Disney princes. I had a house to scout, its owner to seduce, and a panic room to find.
With that zany, witty opener, I wanted to love Anna, Darius, and Code of Honor so badly. This should have been my new favorite read of 2020; it had all the amazing ingredients of an instant classic: self-deprecating female bounty hunter, a romance-reading Disney prince of a hero, a twin-switchero, caper heist (oh

If you are a fan of mysteries with a heavy romantic subplot I highly recommend this.

The main character Anna reminded me alot of Janie from Neanderthal Seeks Human. She is a wealth of random information, is super awkward, and has no filter. Unlike Janie, Anna does not have an amazing shoe collection as she prefers motorcycle boots, and she's a bounty hunter. I immediately liked Anna, she felt very relatable as she owned her awkward and she was a wealth of useful and useless information. She also
