What he craves is attention.

CALDER SETON is an unapologetic manwhore. Former Texas Ranger turned private security agent for Elite, he’s an expert at keeping his heart to himself. His employer wishes he’d do the same for his body. Calder has a habit of sleeping with Elite’s clients and they’ve told him to keep it in his pants or find a new job. That’s fine with Calder. He h

While I still like the writing style of Onley James, I think this is my least favorite in the series so far. And that was mostly because of the ending.

Robby is a famous actor, or at least somewhat famous. He grew up in a religious cult run by his father. But he managed to escape a few years ago. Now 21, he is still painfully shy and he has decided he no longer wants to be a virgin. And he really wants the hot bodyguard Calder to help him with that.

Calder has been told he isn’t allowed t

Overall this was a pretty good third installment in this great series. I was wondering what was going to happen with Robby, the sweet young guy who had been Elijah's fake boyfriend, who then kinda went off the rails after he was humiliated by Elijah and Shep's relationship being found out and he was then the one "cheated" on.

Calder, from what we've seen of him, has seemed laid back and not caring much about anything except getting laid. But we get a much more in depth look at him in this one, a

Hmm ... I guess I l i k e d it? Yeah. It was fine. If you are up for some MEGA INSTA you'll be fine.

I wanted some fluff and I got it but I think this story really lended itself to explore deeper themes which were barely touched upon or not even addressed. I did like spending time with Charlie and Wyatt, but mostly Charlie. I would've liked to actually hear from Shepard & Elijah but you can't get everything. The religious aspect at the end is not for me and Calder basically subsumed in

I enjoyed this story as much as the previous in the series. This book differed from the others slightly in a way of it not having obvious Daddy/Boy dynamics, but it still featured two men who had need to care and be cared for a little bit more than average. It was light on suspense but very heavy on angst and personal issues both Robbie and Calder had to overcome to be happy. I like how Ms James writes her men: bent, hurt and maybe even dented but never fully broken, waiting for someone to patch ...more

Well I’ve finished these books in a flash ! Easy to read, quite predictable and yet I still love a good age gap / alpha / daddy storyline. While there’s angst and trauma you just know it’s going to be fine ... a very steady storyline

Onley James has quickly become a top favorite author of mine. Every single book from her has been a 5 star rating for me. Everything is well written, attention to detail and plot is on point, the characters are real and flawed and messy, and the chemistry between each couple is just intense and insanely hot.

I was so happy to find out that Robby, the sweet fake-boyfriend from Captivating, would be getting his own story. And I LOVE the man-whore/virgin trope and pairing! Calder has this bad habit

Rating for that epilogue: -10 stars. What the fuck is this shit??? Once again, James strains the plausible to the point of ridiculousness. Robbie is supposedly a famous actor who, apparently, never once has to work or has ANY obligations throughout the entire book? Calder is afraid of committment and loves to sleep around and one look at Robbie and he's suddenly a reformed man and has ZERO struggles with going from meeting the kid to marriage & kids in mere months? Robbie & his sister are in serious danger and Calder decides to abandon them with no protection a ...more

Exasperating by Onley James is the third novel in the Elite Protection Services series and the first where there is a little less kink and more focus on the aspects of how love heals deep wounds left from a fractured past. Both Robby and Calder suffer from incidences in their background that have left them hurt and gun-shy when it comes to trusting others and letting them in to their hearts. For Robby, it stems from an abysmal self-esteem issue and the idea that no

I love that Robby gets his HEA! Although it's certainly not an easy road...hes heart broken and on a path of self destruction. And then his cult leader father tracks him down to try to bring him back into the fold! Thank God for Calder and his sexy caveman presence. He sees what none before him have...Robbys innocence and pure beautiful soul. Even when he knows hes not good enough for Robby he cant seem to distance himself...and damn the sex these two have is off the charts HOT!! Even tho it mov ...more

What a brilliant book! I loved the hurt/comfort relationship between the two main characters. It was really sweet and beautiful. Those two had amazing chemistry and fitted so well together. I didn’t expect the book to be so suspenseful. I was honestly biting my fingernails, I was so worried about the outcome.
It was caring, funny, steamy and beautifully written. I really really enjoyed reading it.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book. After a while, Robby’s inner dialogue got to be exasperating. *see what I did there? The book really lost me once we got to the halfway point. It went off on so many unexpected tangents. Even knowing how it ended, I still couldn’t grasp how we got there.

This is not my favorite book of this series (Shep for the win!), but I didn’t hate it. I just didn’t get it. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Damn, Onley James' Exasperating, the third book in the Elite Protection Service is spectacular. From the very beginning, I was sucked into this amazing story, unable to put it down.

Robby will pull at your heartstrings from page one to the end. Growing up in a cult, the reader is fully able to understand the level of abuse he suffered. Now an actor, he's lonely, in danger, and charged with murder. And Calder, wow, just wow. Calder agreeing to protect Robby is awesome. Having always been a manwhor

I'm always amazed by the harm that can be done in the name of 'religion'...even when it is a cult. This book is a blend of so many topics that you're able to understand how one crime feeds another.

Child abuse, child trafficking, drugs, guns, all have a place in this fast paced story...with love holding several people together in the middle.

A child TV star finds life outside the spotlight. A PI finds love after loss. At some point, those who have been disenfranchised find hope and redemption.

Another great addition to the series - and I love how they all cover a certain theme or atmosphere, but at the same time the characters feel unique and different in each book.
I loved every tender moment between Robby and Calder, and Robby being incredibly shy in one situation and then very bold the next made for entertaining reading. I felt that the age gap was handled very well between these two.
The suspense plot could have been a little tighter and the showdown was too rushed and abrupt for my

Onley James knows how to make you feel and her characters are unforgettable. I love, love, love this entire family, especially Charlie and Wyatt. Each and every one of them never fail to make me laugh with their wit, banter and sigh with happiness from all of the love. By the way, I wish I could meet Cas so I can smush his face.

I didn’t expect this out of Robby but I should have. When he decides to go for something, he goes all out. He is so special and deserves all the love. Plus

Really thought i will love this one. Really did not.

There is needy. And then there is ‘I want any strong body so I can call it love and avoid all my trauma’

Also can charlie stfu. The dude literally just KILLED a guy and she’s talking about how it perfectly fit their plan to set him up.

Can this be more...one dimensional? Really?

I was so, so looking forward to this book, and it ended up being my favorite of the series.

Reading about Calder trying to keep it in his pants, for once, was immensely entertaining. And Robby...that boy was so sweet and endearing, that I wanted to smother him with hugs. They're an unlikely pairing, but against all odds, they're just perfect for each other.

They kept me on my toes, made my blood boil and my heart sing.

Loved it.

Love this series!

Though not nearly as kinky as the first two books in the series, Exasperating is still hot. It's age-gap, hurt-comfort, bodyguard-falls-for-client, and as tenderly sweet as it is sexy.

I was given a free audio copy from the author and the GRR arc team for review.

Calder is an ex Ranger and now body guard for Elite security. He has a habit of sleeping with his clients. He has a painful past and doesn't let anyone in. He is told if he sleeps with one more client he is fired.

Robby grew up in a religious cult (Jamestown had nothing on this. Warning of total craziness ahead). His father allows Robby to use his good looks to become a star in hopes of getting money to fund his evil

Having briefly met Calder and Robby in previous books, I wasn’t expecting to like them as much as I did. Robby’s downward spiral, also hinted at previously, appeared overly dramatic and indulgent. However, James immediately gives the reader a peek into Robby’s backstory at the beginning of this book, which puts Robby’s actual position in the world into stark relief. In a matter of moments, James took me from giving Calder major side-eye about his visceral response to Robby to being relieved that ...more

Wow, this book definitely starts with a punch. So much happens in the first 20% - an arrest, intimacy, murder! This is a very intense story, especially for Robby. Occasionally we get a glimpse at his childhood which was hard and abusive until he managed to escape for Hollywood. His recent actions are all going against him though. Calder finds himself quickly falling for the young man regardless of the walls he put up around his heart years ago after suffering hurt and loss.

This story started off in a really strange place, but Robby and Calder grew on me as their adventure continued. I wasn't quite sure what to make of Robby initially, but as I learned more and more about his background some of his quirks started to make sense to me. To call him innocent is a significant understatement, and it was thrilling to see him experience pleasure for the first time under Calder's firm hands. Calder himself appeared to be such a playboy initially, but underneath the posturin ...more

Robbie is Elijah's ex-fake bf from book 2, Captivating. He's acting up, hurt after the way Elijah ended things between them, not necessarily because he loved Elijah, but because of the way things happened. When he ends up in prison after a night he can barely remember, and then starts getting stalked, Calder steps in to help him. The attraction between young, innocent, virginal Robbie and older, manwhore Calder is instant, made even more intense because Linc forbids Calder to go after

Unsurprisingly, since I loved this author's work before, I LOVED this book. It's angst-filled, funny, sweet & sexy. I adore the characters. There are these group text conversations & in-person conversations between Robby, Wyatt & the ever-awesome Charlie that just killed me with cleverness. There's so much great banter with all the characters - Ms. James wins with dialogue & I am a sucker for good dialogue.

I expected sex, sex, sex, and not much else after reading the synopsis for this audiobook. I was totally unprepared for a substantive storyline that had this creepy religious thread throughout! Wow! The sex was super hot yet based on a touch of daddy kink that I didn't care for much but that didn't dull the impact of the story.
