Silvan Tomkins is in the Bishop Butler Bibliography for his doctoral dissertation. I don't think he ever looked back on the Bishop, so I'm reading Affect Imagery Consciousnessfor Field Ontology. We want to drop language as a too dubious guide to reality. So what is left to guide us: consciousness itself? images? the affects?
