There has never before been a book published on the subject of home distillation that is as detailed as this. Every aspect is covered, from first principles to a clear explanation of the science behind it all. Every type of small still is described in detail, from the simplest to those incorporating the latest advanced techniques. No myths, no guesswork. Just tested and proven facts and designs.
This book does not shy away from the science of distilling. If that does not interest you, then by all means, read any other book about distilling. This book is not for you.
I think the book would have benefitted from a more thorough treatment of reaction kinetics and McCabe Thiele diagrams. I had to reference other books on my shelf for that material.
… but I did learn a lot about (practical) distilling and designing boilers and condensers. Definitely worth the read for that material alone.
