Marty doesn’t want to need a Daddy, but he’s still anticipating temptation...
Marty’s new boss pushes all his buttons. He’s confident, capable, and he expects to get his way.
But Marty’s past experience has made him wary of dominant men and determined to establish his independence. Even if deep down he knows Rob will treat him right, he can’t put his new job at risk. Everyone knows sleeping with your boss is a terrible idea.
Rob is the CEO of a company he built himself. He's wealthy and successful, but he’s also lonely.
While he’d never admit it, he longs for a place to call home and a man to love.
Before he met Marty, Rob never felt such a protective urge toward anyone. When he hires Marty to be the housekeeper for his new ranch, Rob doesn’t just want Marty to work for him. He wants to be Marty’s Daddy. Rob is a man who always goes after what he wants, even if he has to break some rules or risk his heart.

Rob and Marty are perfectly suited. I think this is my favorite volume in the set thus far. Book three continues the tradition of finding love in the small town of Anticipation.
Marty is wary coming out of an abusive relationship.
Rob is a closeted bi man who's never felt the need to come out as he's never pursued a serious relationship with a man. Most of his pursuits are temporary flings or one night stands, even Marty is supposed to be a casual summer hookup, until Rob starts to think he may have found his perfect boy. (Can be read as a standalone, but there are characters from the first two books in cameo bits.)
The beginning is scorching. The middle dragged a bit because the cold feet/bad communication trope. In comparison the climatic sub-plot -- which I'm not going to spoil -- could have been a little beefier. Once they moved past that. things wrapped up nicely. Marty was my favorite character. I felt emotionally invested in his career and happiness. I wanted him to get his hea.
I skimmed it. In theory Marty and Rob are the kind of characters I should love, but I felt no attachment to them. And Marty was constantly making mountains out of molehills! Unfortunately I don't think Silvia Violet is for me. 😞
Oh man, I can't believe I didn't leave a review for this one!
I enjoyed this book - much more than the second book in this series. This one felt more like the first book did for me as far as the characters and their chemistry and the storytelling.
Definitely enjoyed this one, I'm just sorry I didn't review it when it was all fresh in my mind!
I remember why I stopped reading the series. It just felt very shallow to me. This one is insta-attraction and close to insta-love. Rob actually made me uncomfortable, because he's very overbearing and while he says the right words about supporting and caring for his boy, when Marty has legitimate concerns about fucking his boss or being independent by not taking Rob's money for everything, Rob uses the Daddy/boy dynamic to just force an end to the conversation with sex. Every time. Marty is on board, it's not dubcon or anything, but their communication is just horrible. They also jump into that dynamic without any discussion about limits, expectations or anything, really. The relationship is also not explored well. They meet, they fall in lust immediately, they fuck a lot, but the transition to in love is not really shown on page. It just blinks to a few weeks later and they are there, but they don't communicate, so they don't know how committed the other one is and it all goes downhill. There's a bit of drama, that does not amount to anything, because what gets them together again are external factors, not their own actions or communication. Everything is well, the end. At lest the sex scenes are kinda hot and somewhat kinky.
While this is a well written story, it just didn't really make my heart flutter. But, due to the fact that the characters are well developed throughout the story, and the writing style is smooth, I rounded up to 4 🌟.
Marty has been in Anticipation for a while now, working at Noah's bakery. He ran from an abusive relationship, and picked Anticipation because he liked the name, but now he has friends here and dreams of his own.
Rob is a very successful businessman who has recently purchased a ranch in Anticipation because he liked the idea of having a new project that would allow him to visit more with his best friend, David. However, once he starts living on the ranch, he realizes he needs a housekeeper and a cook.
* Slight spoilers ahead *
Rob and Marty had met briefly by happenstance, but when Rob is at the bakery, he inquires about recommendations for a live in cook. Lisa offers up Marty immediately, and the rest is history.
Once on the ranch, the relationship takes off like a rocket. Almost from the moment Marty arrives, they begin a Daddy/boy relationship and all that entails. This is one of the things that bothered me; there was no build up, they just instinctively knew that this was the lifestyle they both wanted. However, Marty has the typical reservations about being in a relationship with his employer, who is not only in the closet, but if word got around, it could potentially hurt Marty's business in the future.
After quite a bit of angst, Rob is his usual overbearing self, and makes a poor decision, thus leading to more angst. However, with the help and advice from their friends, they both make up their minds about what is truly important.
Unfortunately, Marty has been keeping a secret of his own leading to a dangerous situation. It was not a real surprise, but there usually has to be some kind of action thrown in somewhere.
Overall, the book is not bad, it just wasn't for me. I really enjoyed the first book of this series, and I haven't read the second, but compared to the first, this was not what I was hoping for.
* I received an ARC of this book and I am leaving my honest review. *
Another excellent read from Silvia Violet. I've enjoyed the other books in this series, and I've gotten to know Rob and Marty a little from those books. I was glad to see them come together and try to make a relationship work. Marty is hesitant but determined to make his life his own. Rob is a bull in a china shop who gets whatever he wants. Both guys had to work on compromise and understanding that they could be what the other needs while not sacrificing their beliefs and personality. I thought the side story of Marty's ex was a little unnecessary I get how the past relationship was important to Marty's personality and where he is in his life now, but I thought the way that story ended was more for plotline rather than adding anything to the relationship and story. Beyond that, though, it was a good Daddy/boy story. I like this little town and all the characters that live there.

This is the third book in this series but can be read as a standalone. Marty has a dream to become a caterer. He is an accomplished self taught chef. When he breaks down on the side of the road, the most attractive man he's ever seen stops to help him. Rob is a self made entrepreneur. He has bought a ranch in Anticipation to spend his summers there. He loves hard work and horses. When he sees a gorgeous man broke down, he has to stop and help. These two are about to begin a long hot relationship that if they can stop being stubborn, could benefit both of them. This is a great book about truth, trust and communication. Is the town of Anticipation magic or just a wonderful small town. Sounds like a beautiful place to put down roots. Even though they can be read as standalones, this is another SILVIA VIOLET, outstanding series. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING SERIES!!!!!
In Anticipating Temptation, Marty takes a job as a housekeeper for Rob, a powerful rancher who exudes dominance and confidence. Though wary of falling for his boss, Marty finds himself increasingly drawn to Rob’s protective nature. Living under the same roof, temptation grows, and Marty struggles between maintaining professionalism and surrendering to his desires. As Rob proves his devotion, Marty must decide whether to trust in love or guard his heart. The story explores themes of trust, vulnerability, and the battle between independence and emotional surrender.
I enjoyed this story with the two main characters, who were both going through complex personal struggles as they faced up to sexuality and relationship challenges. There were a lot of emotions and feelings as both of the main characters struggled to find their place together. This was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like Daddy/boy dynamic.
This was adorable in all the ways. Was there a lot of convenience in the plot? Sure. But that's romance for you and I don't even care. I'm here for joy and that's what I got.
Silvia Violet's Anticipating Temptation is an amazing addition to her Anticipation series. The third book in the series, it's easily read as a standalone.
I was immediately drawn in by Marty and Rob. After meeting them in previous books, Marty's in town after running for an abusive ex, and his new boss captures his attention from the start. And Rob instantly feels like Marty is more than just another employee. There's instant attraction and desire between the two, leading to some fun times, including Marty's first day on the job.
In Rob, Marty finds someone who makes him smile. Just swoon. And Rob's question sums it up well, when he asks "Do you need a Daddy, Marty?"
Despite Rob only being in town temporarily, the two men certainly can't resist the temptation. To add to the fun, Rob has no fear of getting caught in public. What starts as a casual sexual relationship quickly leads to strong feelings. Their relationship is full of possessiveness, intensity, and passion. It's also one with a great balance between taking care of someone while also fostering independence.
It's the wonderful tale of grabbing the chance for a summer together knowing there's an end date. It's a tale of a closeted man who's he never had a reason to come out before. It's a tale of a man surviving abuse and it's aftermath. Add in some homophobia to up the angst factor, and some hot, yet mild Daddy kink, and it's a marvelous story.
The writing is as I'd expect from this established author. The characters are strong, the story structure is wonderful, and the small town feel is well captured. The descriptive writing is downright hot.
I'm always excited to read a Silvia Violet book, and this one did not disappoint. Anticipating Temptation is an fantastic small town romance. It's a wonderful reminder that it's okay to let people help you.
Anticipating Temptation is the third book in Silvia Violet’s Anticipation series and I really enjoyed this installment. Both Marty and Rob have appeared in the background of the series and so I have been eager for their story. While this one does connect with some of the other series characters, and the timelines briefly cross, I think you could read this as a standalone without too much trouble.
Ok, first off, let me say this story is all about fantasy fulfillment (and I was all here for that). Rob and Marty are boss and employee and they fall into bed (or, more accurately, up against a stall in the barn) during Marty’s first day of work. So you just kind of have to go with the lack of professionalism and boundaries here and just enjoy the romance and heat of it all. But I was able to just got with it as the men have great chemistry and are super hot together. There is a mild Daddy kink here that the men explore and there is no question that these guys are totally into each other from the very start. Expect lots of sexy times with a dominant vibe from Rob that drives Marty insane in all the best ways.
This is book 3 of this series and can be read as a standalone. In fact I haven't read the others. I went straight for the daddy book. These two MCs are more into the care and love and decision making kind of daddies so good for beginners. People looking for hardcore bdsm will be disappointed.
These 2 MCs are sweet, yet there is great dirty talk and really 🔥 scenes. This was def one of Silvias great ones. It remained interesting the whole way through. It's low angst with just a bit of angst near the end but had a great plot and character development to keep interest.
These 2 characters were suited perfectly for each other. They had that instant attraction while still keeping their guards up and gradually building closeness so it didn't seem like that cheesy instalove that some books have. They complimented each other perfectly.
Another great add to the series. I love Rob and Marty and they fit perfectly for this kink. I loved Marty from the first scene he was in and have been waiting to see him get a happy ending. Enter in Rob who is the strong and confident type who seems to have it all figured out. Friends/employee to more this was a fantastic story on two people brought together by a unstoppable attraction but held together but love and trust. Daddy/Boy kink does play a part here but its not the main focus, doesn't take away from their story but only enhances it. Hot, sexy and sweet moments make them your new favorite couple. I loved the back and forth between them and of course old favorites weave in and support them in the best ways. Can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.
Anticipating Temptation We met these two in previous books. Marty's in Anticipation since fleeing from his abusive controlling ex Landon. He made firm friends with Noah and worked with him and Noah's mum Lisa at Main Street Bakery. After seeing Noah find love with David he wonders if he'll ever trust someone enough to fall in love again. Until he meets Rob. Rob a CEO of a company he built is only in Anticipation temporarily. He meets and employs Marty to be his housekeeper but he also wants more from Marty. He wants to be his Daddy and is used to getting what he wants. With Marty's past will he cross the line of boss/employee and become Rob's Boy? This is an excellent addition to the Anticipation series which could also be read as a standalone. I'm excited for the next!
Calling all daddy lovers this is the book for you. In the ongoing Anticipation series we get to know Rob and Marty better in their story. These two characters made appearance previously in the series though it is not necessary to read books 1 and 2 to fully understand this book as it stands alone well; however, for maximum enjoyment I strongly recommend reading the other books in order as this is just such a great series to read. This is sweet and tender with daddy kink and a high level of steam. You will enjoy this book for the easy read format with the kink that so many of use love. Congratulations to Silvia Violet for another wonderful addition to the Anticipation series.
This was so sweet. Marty and Rob click from the beginning it’s the logistics and technicalities that throw everything for a loop.
I was glad that Marty was able to finally find the happiness and care he has always wanted after everything that he has had to deal with. Rob knows what he wants but has to be strong enough to let everyone know.
This story just pulled me in and kept me engaged the whole time. This has been a very nice series and I enjoy each new couple and love that we get to see the previous couples too.
I received an ARC of this book and am giving an honest review.
Whilst I loved all three books in this series, this one was my favourite. Marty hasn't dated anyone since fleeing an abusive past, not able to trust. He ended up in Anticipation working in the bakery. An encounter with a hot stranger when his car breaks down has his libido revving. That hot stranger is Rob, David's best friend and newly acquired ranch owner. He needs a cook and a housekeeper. Marty is encouraged to apply and the rest they say, is history. The story had it's ups and downs with the couple. A lot of angst and soul searching and coming out for Rob. And A lot of hot Daddy kink.
*I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one elses*
3 stars
Marty was adorable and I liked the fact that he wanted to make his own way in the world.
Marty and Rob’s relationship develops pretty quickly and the daddy/boy aspect was hot. However, these two didn’t really communicate and their interactions lacked an emotional connection.
I had mixed feelings about this one - the characters didn’t pull me in as much as I would liked and the story felt rushed in places.
I loved Rob and Marty’s story! I’ve been loving the Anticipation series, and this was a great addition! Daddy/boy dynamic is one of my favorite tropes, and this one was especially hot and sexy! I loved how Rob wanted to take care of Rob, give him everything he ever wanted, but still be independent. Marty was so determined to have it all: a Daddy and making his dreams come true with his own hard work. If you love a Daddy/boy dynamic, edging and super hot sexy times this is a must read!
I enjoyed Rob and Marty's story. Their relationship might have started out as lustful attraction, but these two complete each other. They are both lonely and while they each know it, it isn't really something that Rob will acknowledge. The guys both need an anchor so they get lost drifting away in their own lives.
I really liked this book and the story it told. The characters are interesting and their situation is unique in the series.
Thoroughly enjoyed the addition to the Anticipation series. Loved Rob and Marty....I just want to hug Marty and keep him wrapped in cotton wool. Their relationship is good and the character building excellent. Rob is a good daddy that from the start just wants to do good by Marty. Marty has lots to work through in order to achieve his happily ever after. A lot of it is him holding himself back which is understandable considering his history. Great Read!
I love love love a good Daddy/Boy story and I was so looking forward to reading Marty’s story and it did not disappoint. I loved cheeky Marty when he calls Rob Daddy for the first time. I loved the dynamic between these two MCs, we had a bit of drama with Marty’s wacko ex. We had super sweet moments between Rob and Marty and Daddy and his boy. What starts out as a job quickly turns into a HEA for both men....loved it and can’t wait for the next story in the series
Marty and Rob are quite possibly my favourite Anticipation couple, they have a special chemistry between them that brings the story to life. This an employer/employee romance with Daddy kink, the story has a high heat level and is so good at making you go awwww.
I have really enjoyed all the books in this series and as all the characters are reoccurring ones it is best to read in order. I would recommend this book and series to everyone.
I didn't like this one as much. I don't mind the Daddy kink but for me the fact that it moved so quickly and they didn't seem to communicate very well, I found made me more frustrated and less invested. Still an okay read, just didn't like it as much as #1. Won't be reading two because I've discovered I am not really a fan of books with kids. Just doesn't work for me, nothing against the author, just not a trope I enjoy.
This was such a sweet, charming, engaging, tender, smoking hot, grab-you-by-the-feels, and delightfully delicious twist on the classic employer/employee and daddy/boy storylines. Silvia Violet has written another fantastic addition to this marvelous series, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Anticipating Temptation, Anticipation book Three by Silvia Violet. I’m enjoying this series very much! The characters in the books are fantastic and the storylines are great! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
Another great addition to the Anticipation series. Marty and Robs story is sweet and kinky. There could have been a bit more communication between the two but other wise this was a fabulously hot read!
A sweet story that is certainly a great addition both to the series and to the Daddy kink collection. I enjoyed reading it. The characters were very interesting and the progression of the relationship felt very natural
