This will be a review that is difficult to write in some ways, largely due to my inability to capture what this series has meant to me. Heres a brief explanation.

A little over a year ago the author graciously sent me a copy of the Ventifact Colossus which I read out loud to my then 13-year-old son, and which we both enjoyed. I enjoyed the first two books in the series, and the very end of this one sets up an interesting new status quo, but I found the bulk of this book very hard going. The heroes get separated into four storylines that, though all related to thwarting the same bad guy, don't really intersect very much. That made for very stop start reading as the author switches between these groups at least every chapter, and sometimes within a chapter.
