This was good yet theres something overall off missing or odd about it that leaves you unsatisfied... so it gets a 3 star average usually any norse related academy romance stuff is an almost certain 4 or favourite but yeah this feels like it fell short and went with a whimper when it promised a bang and the romance was like idk like disappointing like i liked the dude for the first couple scenes but then its like he became a different younger jerkier selfish insincere fuckboy rather than otherwo ...more

DAUGHTER OF RAGE AND BEAUTY is the first book in the Berserker Academy series, and if this is any indication of what is to come, then I can't wait for book 2.

Elin is a half-breed, part Fae and part Berserker. She has been looked down upon by her father from birth, and now, at twenty-one, she is being shipped off to the Berserker Academy in a last-ditch attempt of her not 'sullying' the family name. Trouble is, Berserkers can be just as judgmental as her father!

Daughter of Rage and Beauty by Amy Pennza is a wonderful story that I have read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series that I have loved reading very much. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about paranormal romances.

The character was so immature I thought I was watching my two kids fighting when they were children. The character is supposed to be 21 yrs old but she acts like she an adolescent. What was with the screwed up mythological characters being from the wrong country. Unless the author seriously steps up her writing abilities and does research on where the mythological characters are from this will be the last book I read from her. I know plenty of others thought this was great but I don't like bratt ...more

This book deserves a 10 star rating!

A berserker and a nymph, never quite good enough for her father. Elin has lost everyone she's ever loved. Instead of love she receives cruelty and abandonment. Hauk is the headmaster of the berserker academy and takes Elin under his wing. They will travel Fairie and the world on a quest. I love when she talks to the wood and plants. Hauk helps her gain some control of her out of whack powers. This is definitely a book I will read again and recommend to others!

I really enjoyed this book. Elin was a tough, smart, strong lead who didn't seem to quite fit in. She was instantly likeable and it was easy to get attached to her story. The story was good, there were steamy romance scenes, and an ending that explained everything. This was a fun little world to get brought into, and a story I didn't want to put down. ...more

This is a good academy read once you get past the slow start. The main character is supposed to be in her 20's however she acts much younger. It reads more like a high school academy then a college but I still enjoyed it very much. This is my first read by this author and I will definitely be reading more ...more

The story opens with Elin approaching BjØrneskalle Castle, home to the Berserker Academy (think of it as an assassin’s university), in a car with her father. The tension in the story builds as they get nearer and nearer – A fantastic hook in! It had me. I needed to find out what was going to happen and what this Berserker Academy was all about.

Elin is our POV character: She comes across as sweet, yet powerful and was easily likeable. Elin mother was a nymph, so she’s half Fae – She soon finds th

I received this as an advanced reading copy.

This book was a disappointment. If I hadn't known that the one character was supposed to be Elin's father, I wouldn't have guessed it by their interaction in chapter one. The last line also tell you. The father is a very cold, very controlled misogynist. Elin's uncle is a Satyr. A Scottish satyr. Why is this character Scottish when satyrs are Greek? The Scots have a part faun character in their mythos but who is more like a brownie than a satyr from Gr

“Daughter of Rage and Beauty” is a breakout top 10 that I could not put down. This well-crafted storyline has humor, action, betrayal, passion, suspense, and a massive surprise as to the reason that Elin is hated by her father. All this intrigue wrapped up in a well-written package that is definitely a Must Read novel. The characters are perfectly created for this tale, the main character Elin and the secondary characters keep you entertained and laughing out loud from the first page. Elin’s fam ...more

I love anything fantasy and romance related, and Amy Pennza did not disappoint - I could not put this book down and ended up reading it in one sitting! I have never read a book about Norse mythology, so this was an uncharted territory for me, but from the very start I was pulled into this new unfamiliar world of different gods, deities and powers. The book was well written and easy to read. There was a perfect mix of action and romance, and the plot was interesting all the way through. The roman ...more

“Unfocused, emotional and flighty” are but a few shortcomings on the long list defining Elin’s flaws in the opinion of her father, Rage Lord Harald Berregaard. Consequently, she’s been sent to the Berserker Academy to complete her training – where you vow to die if you fail. No pressure whatsoever! I enjoyed Elin’s character along with her determination to succeed despite the odds stacked against her. I found the quest she undertook with the headmaster, Hauk Sigridsson to be an interesting blend ...more

Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. What a page turner. We meet Elin, being thrown to the wolves so to speak when her father drops her off at the Berserker academy. She has brought shame to his household and cant get rid of her fast enough. Being part nymph, Elin is bullied by her fellow students calling her a half breed but in a battling class smtg happens and a tall dark and handsome stranger saves the day...only to learn it is the headmaster...just great. What's a berserker?

I'm not entirely sure how to rate this one. I mean, the writing was alright, and some parts of the story were interesting, but then as a whole, it seemed a bit jumbled.

At first, I thought this was going to be an academy book with its mean girls and training scenes, but that aspect was quite quickly forgotten. And then I thought it was perhaps a fae-fantasy adventure book, but then the oddly BDSM/erotica sex scene happened ("sex juices in butt cracks and milking every drop" -st

I found this to be an interesting story. The pace was decent and there was great world-building. There is plenty of action and twists to keep you interested in the story. I will be keeping my eyes out for the second book in the series as I am interested to see what happens next.

I was not sure what to expect from this book, but I am glad I decided to read it. It was a fun read full of action, tragedy, love, and unexpected twists!
The story takes you for an unexpected journey. You may think you know what will happen, but you have no idea. This is one of those books that really takes the unexpected to another level. No matter your great mystery solving skills, this book will have you beat!
So worth the read and journey!

The perfect title, I say, for the story of such an intrepid kickass heroine who really kept the storyline flowing and so full of conflict! I loved reading this! The heroine Elin discovers her true heritage and finds her true mate while slowly unraveling the diabolical plots of her dastardly father. An intriguing thriller full of action, suspense, and deadly danger as well as the passionate and steamy love of newly found soul mates. Now this is a story that I will definitely read again!

This was a fun and exciting adventurous story. Elin was dropped off at the Berzerker academy because she constantly failed her fathers attempts to have her taught to hone her skills. No one wanted her there because she was part nymph. Hauk was the headmaster and there were definitely sparks as Elin and he embarked on a journey together. Good story

I liked this one. It's not as good as the first book in her Lux Catena series. I keep reading her books hoping they will be similar to that one. The storyline and mythology of this book is well thought out and explained but the romance is a little too instalove for me and the depth of the hero is lacking... I still read the book quickly and didnt lose interest.
