This book is definitely different than Ms. Aitkens other books. It is well written and broke my heart at times. I dont want to give anything away. Marin, Davis and Sabrina have all been good friends since their teenage days. Marin and Davis fell in love, married and have a daughter Rylee. I can understand how Marin is excited about turning 40 and ready to put more of herself in her job. Especially since Rylee is turning 16 and will be out of the house soon. Marin is such a good mother and has ...more

Wow, this chick just could not catch a break. Big 40th birthday and her world literally falls apart. Honestly, I dont know how she survived it in one piece (mentally). The story was moving and I enjoyed reading this book. My heart hurt by the end. ...more

I enjoyed reading this book, it certainly provides something to think about. Maren and Davis have been happily married for eighteen years, Maren has never tried to have a successful career, although she is very good at her job; instead she has been a homemaker. They have a daughter, Rylee, who is sixteen; it wont be long before she goes off to college. It is Marens fortieth birthday and she is going to change her life, take that promotion she has been turning down for years. Davis and Sabrina, ...more

Just wow!! This is a story that pulled on my heartstrings for sure. Maren thinks she's got the perfect life and in a moment it all seems to start unraveling. SO much emotion to this story, for Maren as things she thought she knew turn out to be false, betrayal beyond comprehension, devastating losses; for Rylee - lost in her own way, her own senses of betrayal, looking for comfort in the wrong places; Davis and Sabrina...well... there are consequences to actions... The overall message to this ...more

Can I just say, WOW! This book was outside of the books Elena usually writes. I wont spoil it but I will say that there isnt necessarily a happy ending but there is definitely a silver lining. Maren thought she wasnt strong, but yes she was. This book is relatable on so many levels. I cried! I think a lot of women can identify with Maren. The daughter shows a great amount of honesty and strength too. This book follows the lives of this family

This is definitely a departure from Elena's usual work but that did not make this story any less strong. Each chapter from a different perspective leads to an unexpected ending after a series of world altering events change how her characters move forward with their lives. This story is far from a typical romance because; in fact; it is not a romance but it does have Elena's well developed characters who grow as the story moves. I wanted to know more after the story ended for the main character ...more

Why do I do this to myself?! Last night I decided to start reading Elena Aitkens newest story. I was sure I could read a chapter or two & then go to bed. After all, it was 10:30 & shed mentioned it was different than her other books. Instead, from the first page, I was engrossed in the storyline. I smiled & I cried. Oh, how I cried! This story hit my heart so hard but it was uplifting in parts too. Maren was a beautiful strong woman. I really dont want to give any spoilers so Ill ...more

This book did have some surprises in it that I didn't see coming. I started it about 9 pm and couldn't put it down. Maren just turned 40 and was ready for some changes. Her daughter was 16, she was focusing on her career and she loved her husband, and she was pregnant again. When she finds out a horrible secret, her world is rocked. I think she handled it as well as she could. More events happen that rock her world more, but this is a story about finding the strength to continue no matter what ...more

Absolutely loved this book! The main character, Maren is so relatable and just like you or I. I read this book in one sitting and finished it in the wee hours two days ago. Perfectly written I can picture everything so clearly! It has stayed with me and you know thats a sign of a good book! A departure for Ms Aitken from her normal romance but so worth the read. Highly recommend 💕 ...more

This was just brilliant and I struggled to put it down. This is different to Elena's other books and is just a beautiful story.

This brought out so many heartfelt emotions in me as I related to so much of this story and had felt so many of the same things. I divorced at 40, had an unplanned pregnancy in my 40's, sold my forever home and moved on with my new life. At the end of the story I felt lighter and grateful and had a big smile on my face knowing that yes life does go on and it gets better.

This book was not what I expected. What We Never Knew was an emotional story that definitely tugged at my heart strings. Maren's life is flipped upside down and things will never be the same. This is not the usual type of story feom Elena Aitken but I was really drawn to it and ended up reading it in one sitting.

Elena has taken a new turn in her writing and I love it. Plenty of twists that will have you shaking your head at times. Men really think only with their other brain at times-Vasectomy 101.

So much pain and heartache, realistically so. In real life, people are hurtful, not close to perfect, and we don't get an HEA. I enjoyed the story and cried through most of it.

Wow! I just love Elena Aitken and all her books. She really knows how to write a great story. Elena Aitken has a gift for writing. When she puts pen to paper the words dance off the page and into my heart forever. Her world's she creates are just magical. I often find the characters struggles realistic and relatable.

In All We Never Knew we get a different story. This is not Elena Aitken's typical romance. In fact it isn't a romance at all. We get to meet Maren Bennett and Davis Bennett and their

It took me a few days to think of what I could say about this book, without giving any spoilers, because it was really prettydeep for me. It may be that some of the things that happened in the story have happened to me in my own life so it really affected me on many levels. I truly enjoyed the story read straight thru until 2 in the morning! because I wanted to know how it ended.

The cast of characters are Maren Bennett, her husband Davis, her daughter Rylee, and her best friend, Sabrina. The

All We Never Agnew was simply wonderful! It was also heartbreaking, stress-inducing, frustrating and made me want to throw my e-reader against the wall. This is not like anything Ms. Aitken has written (at least that Ive read) before. Its not a romance but a beautifully written story of how one very strong woman deals with her world spinning totally off its axis.
I will not go into details, as all my thoughts and feelings would definitely give away hints to the storyline. I do confess to reading

I just want to say this book is one of my favorite reads this year and Ill be buying the paperback, when it becomes available. This book definitely deserves more than 5 stars! This book may be different than Elena Aitkens previous books, but it is her best work, in my opinion. Maren reaches her 40th birthday and learns she is pregnant. This comes as a total shock to her, especially since shes looking forward to getting that promotion at work and doing what she wants, for once. Then, she gets a ...more

Heart Wrenching!!

Elena Aitken had me holding my breathe and my kindle as my heart broke in two. Gah! This book is brimming with emotions!!! My heart hurt so bad, but Elena Aitkens beautiful story telling healed it up and filled me with hope and love.

I was completely hooked, completely immersed, completely invested and completely addicted. I literally could not put this book down, I had to keep turning page after page. These characters were so real and dealing with so much. I wanted to heal

No spoilers here and a must read if you are looking for almost true life experience after 40. Maren's story can be relatable to so many women who are hitting that 40 year milestone in there life. This book is definitely a normal HEA that Elena usually writes but dont let that make you think that it won't be a great book. Definitely a book for those women that need a silver lining in there life.

Not Elenas usual but still very engaging. I had to keep resing because I wanted to know what happened next. The end kept me wanting more.

Good read, many dilemmas and human emotions. Very surprising at times too.

I enjoyed reading it. Well done Elena Aitken.
