Discover something about different cultures and learn some facts about the foods that they enjoy eating. This book helps children learn how to make different delicacies from cultures all across the world. A fun book for children, this cook book is meant to teach children different recipes that they can make at home. It is important for children to learn about various multicultural foods because this can help raise their awareness and acceptance of our difference, and not just our similarities. From the Ethiopian bread called “injera”, the Japanese traditional kushiyaki dinner, Indian lassi, or sweet yogurt drink, to delicious Middle Eastern (Egyptian recipe) baklawa! Children learn many yummy recipes and fun facts about all cultures. Food is a way to a persons heart, so why not teach children to love each other through something we all love...food!

This book has many different recipes incorporated in it, starting with making tea and goes all the way to making desserts. This book has a really good layout for the kids to understand. It would give them a look into what different cultures eat and let them have fun with trying to cook it too. The book has a combination of elements that makes it a good pick. There are short sections to read about the country and its history, there is a list of what you need, directions of what to do for the recipe, and it also includes a tasty tidbit section. This would be a good book for guided reading from 3rd to 6th.

This seemed aimed at a younger age than I was looking for; the recipes seem nice on the surface but I was hoping for more. On the plus side, there is good information about common foods around the world; just needs more recipes!
