Tortured...
Only she can save him from the Hive!

Vice Admiral Niobe has resisted the temptation of the Interstellar Brides Program for years, certain there is no male in the universe willing to sacrifice his vision of a perfect life to be with her. Shocked to be matched to her father's home world of Everis, she transports, expecting to find an eager mate waiting for her. Instead, she arrives within a secret Hive integration center to find him resisting a merciless enemy!

Elite Hunter Quinn might have been captured by the Hive, but he'll sacrifice anything to save the mate he never expected... never imagined would appear like an angel in the middle of hell. A warrior in her own right, Niobe's too stubborn to leave him behind. And even if they escape the Hive, their personal scars run deep. Battle and bloodshed are easy. 1.5 stars. I'll be honest...I couldn't stand either MC. Both were too set in their ways and neither were willing to compromise for their love. The solution to their problems had nothing to do with their love or connection and everything to do with control. Quinn never seemed to be on equal playing field with Niobe and Niobe was annoying as hell with her self serving decisions. Call me old fashioned but there was nothing sexy or romantic about their mating.

I've liked others in this series but this one just made me feel ragey.

This is another hit by Grace Goodwin! I love reading anything by her and I love her latest story. I can never get enough of her Interstellar Brides Program series. You are swept into the action from the first page.

Vice Admiral Noibe has been matched but she doesn't want to give up her position. She is vital for the war against the Hive. She agrees to go to meet her match. She is transported into a Hive-run base. She saves her mate, Quinn and was able to lock down it. Quinn is an Elite Hunter. They only have several hours together before a disagreement gets between them. Will they be able work things out?

I find the Interstellar Brides series by Grace Goodwin by chance. But now I have read and own each and every one IBP books. I love the building of the characters, the strong females, the hopeless males and the unique building of every pairing of the series.
The IBP series is one of my favorite human- alien romance. I already love the alien males from Prillon Prime, Viken, Trion, Atlan and the stories from Colony (Are the best ones, now that there is hope for the Cyborg males through the IB Program). I like the Everians and a bit less the story from Rogue 5.
Mrs Goodwin I would love to, to introduce us to another planet and the inhabitants and how will be introduce to the human females....

Story is told in alternating 1st person POV.

Full marks for the original conceptualisation - “The Interstellar Brides Program”

The theme of a fail-safe matchmaking mechanism was very novel and intriguing and it really caught my fancy.
But...
The execution and the storytelling could have been so much better.

I’ve only read one Grace Goodwin where the beginning didn’t put me off from the rest of the book. And sadly, this one doesn’t make the cut. I HATE how she opens most of her books. Well, putting her on the list of authors I just don’t want to try anymore.

Compromise

Played out well and found the end solution almost perfect. I think the Prime should have been able to give him a higher rank.

Everian, not my favorite species.

In fact, it is my least favorite species in GG’s brides universe. I have absolutely no understanding of this species as each book with them in it makes no sense in connection to the others. One book/side series has the claiming of three holes with virgins. The second is that marked mate scenario that is so rare as to be a myth and therefore what’s the point of this in any of the series’ at all!?! Then one book had them sooo duty bound that they more or less reject their mate. But in every single one their story changes. The culture GG writes for them is always so different that I don’t understand it. However, only one thing each story has in correlation is that the Everian men go around the universe dropping their seed like rain drops with absolutely no regard for the resulting offspring they leave behind. And THAT makes me dislike this group as a whole.

There are only three story’s with Everian’s that I like. The first one on the colony with the reporter finding her marked mate. The second one with the virgin tracking her mate across Everis to rescue him from an attempted assassination. And the historical one when they meet during the American old west. That one was sweet. My least favorite was the virgin bride one. It’s ONLY saving grace had been the introduction of the Legions and Hyperion species, which GG doesn’t write enough about. But she doesn’t write enough books about the colony either and that’s my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE part of this universe that she has created. Only seconded by the Atlans. LOVE me those Atlans. If GG could write a ton more books with Atlans, the colony, the Legion/Hyperions, and her secret baby storylines, I’d be in heaven!

Anyway, back to this book. I didn’t enjoy these characters. They were both too in their own heads on how to be in control. The intimacy was boring at best. The MMC even pouted for a week before someone had to TELL him to follow his species’ instincts! I also didn’t like the manipulation of the prime leader to get what the Everian wanted, which would NEVER happen in real life military. I couldn’t roll my eyes enough on that part. Honestly, the only interesting part of this whole book was the Nexus character. Every time GG writes one I want more of him. I want him to get the girl. I want to read the sexual acrobatics they would do together with his slithering thing. Lol. GG, if you see this can you make that happen? Please!! Lol.

GG has been adding elements into this series that I have read on her forums where some readers have expressed that “why do they always have to have babies”, or “why can’t they be a couple who doesn’t want children?”. A series that was over twenty books in and is based on procreation now has this book on a couple that doesn’t want offspring. I respect everyone’s personal choice but this series was about continuation. If those readers didn’t like that aspect there are other books for them that don’t have that element. I WANT to read about a female who can have it all. Career AND children. A devoted relationship AND duty. On earth or in space. It’s called fantasy. I don’t want to read about a selfish person who only wants “one” thing in life and is so controlling they expect their partner to fall in line with that. I HATED that GG gave into that solicitation of her audience. You have a universe, stick to your universe. Any no child baring characters should be side characters and not main characters. As for the pleas for mixed couples that her audience also expressed, I’m okay with that because really all her couples are mixed relationships anyway. Seriously, duh.

This book is going to be a never read again book. No matter how much I liked all the Nexus parts, I hated this story, I had to force myself to finish it. I’m on my way to Wulf’s book. I horde a few of her books up and then binge read them because one book is never enough. I just wish she hadn’t written this one. I gave it three stars because it wasn’t a bad story, so others may enjoy it. I on the other hand hated it!

I have read and own each and every one of Grace Goodwin's IBP books. There's a very good reason for that. They are just really darn good books. They have a great story and lots of sexy love. The characters, especially her female characters, tend to be really strong, and aren't willing to give up easily.

None of them more so than Vice-Admiral Niobe. She is incredibly fierce, talented, strong, fearsome, and determined. She's going to do everything she can to get what she needs, and right now, what she needs is her mate, Quinn. She ends up having to go in and rescue him from the evil clutches of a Nexus and the Hive, and she does that, and locks the base down so that the Hive can't escape singlehandedly. Like I said, fearsome.

I think that Niobe is going to be high on my personal list of favorite heroines, because she really is just a total BAMF. There is no one higher in the Coalition military than her, and it shows. She has earned every stripe and star, and she's not willing to compromise on her job.

I like Quinn, at least most of the time. There are a few times when I think he is stupid AF and he really makes me mad. He really needs to be smacked around when those times happened.

I thought that this was a great read! This book packs a powerful one-two punch with its intense story and its incredible characters. Niobe and Quinn created a compelling couple with a unique feel to the pairing. Both these characters are fierce, strong and driven warriors. This brought a new set of issues into the relationship and produced a whole new dynamic. In my opinion, this generated a very fresh breath of air into the series. It was nice to see a female that didn't just react but was proactive in a large and in charge, kick@$$ way. Despite the dueling alpha personalities, these two had amazing chemistry and their intimate scenes were steamy. Add in drama, danger, action, excitement, tension and lots of emotions, and you have a not to be missed book in a very enjoyable series. This is my honest, voluntary review.

Wow, there have been some strong heroines in this series before but I don't think there have been any quite like Niobe! Quinn is an elite Hunter but even he knows he has met his match when he meets his matched mate. This was a great addition to the series and I really liked how Quinn supported Niobe to be who she really was and not try to change her to fit his needs. Even though there have been so many books in this series, Grace Goodwin always manages to surprise me.

I love the Interstellar Bride program series and this book definitely ranks up there with the rest of the series. I love how Niobe was headstrong and even though she was matched she refuses to give up her position that she worked so hard to obtain. I also loved how Quinn found a way around things so he was able to be with his mate even though it had looked to be impossible

I didn't love this one. I wanted Quinn to more fully respect Vice Admiral Niobe's position and how hard she worked to attain that position. I think by the end that he understood what it meant to her, but when he pulls her out of the meeting and doesn't publicly apologize? That bothered me. What goes on behind closed doors between them is fine, but I thought he should have given her position more respect in public.

As a Vice-Admiral in the coalition, Niobe knows what it’s like to be the one in charge. Her mixed heritage, from Earth and Everis, has given her unique abilities, and her role in the coalition is the one place she feels she doesn’t stand out as a freak.
So when she is matched with a dominant Elite hunter from Everis, she knows they are bound to have issues.
She is surprised when she is transported to him, only to discover the base he is on has been taken over by the hive.
Now they will have to help all those who have been captured and integrated, while still trying to balance their match.

As with all of Grace’s interstellar brides series, this is a quick paced, sexy, romance, set in a universe where numerous allied races fight against their common enemy, the hive.

Interestingly enough, we actually get to know just a little more about the hive in this one, though not as much as the coalition need to get ahead.
The heroine in this book is an important one. Her rank places her at the top, and it means she is not a weak willed woman.

This is book 17 in the brides series, but since Grace writes several series within the same world,mi recommend having a look at her website for reading order.
You don’t need to have read the books that come before this as it stands alone quite well BUT it references past main characters, and other important side characters and events from previous books.

If you enjoy sci-fi romance, then I recommend this series, and this book.

I loved this book the lead female character was so powerful & strong! Unlike all the other books she wasn’t in her 30’s she was in her late 30’s and did want kids.

She was one of the most respected & powerful commentators in the correlation fleet commanding thousands of soldiers as well as having top secret security clearances.

She grew up on earth but had an alien father that she never met and she always felt different and like she didn’t fit in anywhere. That’s why her job has been her life she found that she’s great at and no longer feels different as she’s perfect for what they need.

She ends up mated but when she’s transported to him it’s in the middle of a hive base where he’s been tortured for the last week. She saves him and locks down the base. Locking the hive members inside until they can come back ! Take care of the issue.

They mate (spicy) then go back to deal with the hive. Her mate has to come to terms with the fact that she out ranks him & outside the bedroom she’s in charge.

He ends up getting assigned to be her personal bodyguard as a demotion of his original job because he just wants to be near her at all times.

They are cute & the story & spice were great!

I love this alien series by the duo Grace Goodwin. The Interstellar Brides series is so much fun and flaming hot! Niobe is of mixed human/alien race and decides to take the mate match test thinking she won’t actually get matched but she does to a hunter Everian. She teleports to him and finds his base is overrun by the Hive and he’s been tortured for weeks. She helps him escape snd together they come up with a plan to save the rest while figuring out how to be mates.

It’s quick paced romance for sure. They do a wonderful job building the world and all the characters. I loved that Niobe was a Vice Admiral (very important ranking) and her mate was a lower rank. We also got more information on how the hive works if you enjoy sci-fi romance I think you’ll like this one! It is book 17 and I did feel we were missing some integral parts of Everians for this who hadn’t read the series but overall I enjoyed it.

What would you give up for your mate? Vice Admiral Niobe, thanks to her friends, she is in the bride testing chair having the most amazing experience. In her 30's and at her rank there probably wouldn't be a mate for her. To her surprise she has a mate. Right away she is tranported to his location. Elite Hunter Quinn is a captive of the hive. He has been tortured, his crew has been killed, and no escape in sight. Was did come into view was the most amazing woman he ever saw. Not exactly the perfect meeting, but it led to good things for the coalition, but it is not ending up that way for Quinn. His mate is high ranking and all business. Able to go places and do things he can not. That was not going to work, his plan was genius, hopfully he would not end up in jail. Love this book, and the series is amazing.

Really enjoyed this one! The couple were absolutely perfect for each other - both incredibly strong and capable! This did have a different feel to the other books I've read by Goodwin as the couple had to work for the happily ever after, their jobs and roles they've been in for their entire lives conflicted at point within the story and they both had to make compromises to make their match a successful one.

While it wasn't a 5 star read for me it was still brilliant! It was nice to see how devoted the couple were to each other and that their relationship was important enough to both of them to work on it. By the last page my heart was melting for them and the love that jumped off the page between them! Steamy scenes were amazing as usual with Goodwin!

The Interstellar Brides series takes place at a time where aliens are real and there are several different planets and species. There is a galactic enemy known as the hive, which is a technological species that invades planets and either kills its inhabitants or transforms their captives into one of them. A coalition was formed between the planets who are at war with the hive. Each member of the coalition is required to supply soldiers and brides to the cause. Soldiers to fight the hive, and brides to repopulate the diminished that have fallen victim to the war. There is a neurological test that a bride takes to me matched to their perfect alien planet, then their perfect alien match on that planet, through a series of sexual desires that only our subconscious can answer for. Earth allows for volunteers to apply to the program, or grants female criminals the option to become a bride over a prison sentence. Those who volunteer are paid a healthy sum of money, and those who are prisoners are given clean slates. All applicants are required to give up their Earth citizenship to become a resident of their new chosen planet. A bride has 30 days to accept or reject their match. If they accept their claim, they are mated to their new alien husband for the rest of their lives where they are expected to make babies. If they reject their mate, they are assigned a new one on that same planet. Where they are still expected to make babies. Warden Egara makes continued appearances throughout the series as she is the one who processes the brides in the Florida.

Written in first person, Hunted is book 17 in this series and follows the human bride Vice Admiral Niobe and her mate Elite Hunter Quinn from the planet Everis. I disliked almost everything about this book in particular. Maybe it was because I already disliked Niobe’s character from book 5 of the colony when she pissed off Warlord Angh and forced him to remove his cuffs in order to protect his mate. She basically forced his hand which made him doubt Kira’s intentions and I never forgave her for that. So when she tested for the bride program while on vacation to the colony, I immediately disliked her character. Even though it was her badassery that saved her mate Quinn’s life from the hive infiltration, she kept forcing me to dislike her by running from him. Niobe is part human, part Everian by the way, and she isn’t Quinn’s marked mate but his perfect match based on the interstellar program. We first met Quinn in “Claiming His Virgin” from the virgin bride series. As Zee’s best friend, Quinn was the one who helped Helen in getting Zee to reveal himself to her. I really liked Quinn and was disappointed that not only did he not get his marked mate, but he was stuck with stubborn bitch-ass Niobe. Ugh. 🤦‍♀️🙄 The only thing I enjoyed about this book was the incorporation of so many characters across several books in this series and their spinoffs.

Anyway, besides disliking Niobe’s character, I was also distracted with the continuity error regarding the nexus unit. It was Nexus 4 that infiltrated Quinn’s underground base and killed his team. But wait a minute… Nexus 4 was already killed by Warlord Rezz in book 6 of the colony series “Rogue Cyborg.” I thought, okay maybe this book takes place before that one chronologically, since we never witness Nexus’s death, he could have escaped. But no, this book referenced Gwen and Mak on the run, hunting hive, which didn’t take place until the end of “Rogue Cyborg,” which happened after Rezz killed Nexus 4. So Grace Goodwin made a boo-boo. Nexus 2 made Gwen what she is and could possibly still be alive. Megan and Warlord Nyko killed Nexus 9 in book 10. Rezz killed Nexus 4. And this Nexus (some number other than 4) is now in captivity. There’s no telling how many nexus units there are, but there’s at least 9.

Everians are humanoid, similar in size to humans. What sets them apart from everyone else is their enhanced speed and strength, unfailing instinct for the hunt, strong minds and iron wills, and they are born with a birthmark - their matched mate bearing the exact same mark, their one true mate, and the mark comes alive when they are near, burning like fire when their marked mate is near by. Most Everians can’t conceive unless it is with their one true matched mate. Only one in a hundred are lucky enough to find their marked mate. In order to fully claim a mate, they have to have three types of sex with their mate: oral, anal and vaginal (in that order). Of course, this sacred order seems to only be followed by Everians ON Everis, and not any other time throughout the Interstellar Bride Series.

There have been way too many romance novels I’ve read that had me frustrated and yelling “Jesus Christ, when are they gonna fuck?! Get to the good shit already!” When we’re 50% in, and the main characters have barely kissed each other, leaves readers like me aggravated. This is NOT one of those books. I’m fairly confident that there is more sexual content in this book than adventure. It is, quite literally, word porn.

Spankings take place in every single book. If any man spanked me, I would probably kill them in their sleep, but I guess some women do enjoy them. Spankings are more of a turn-off than turn-on in my case, so I just ignore those parts of the books like “nope, that didn’t just happen.”

As I’ve read through this series and all its spin offs, I can attest that the plot is incredibly addictive. I am way too invested in each book, in all its adventure and romance. Grace Goodwin has ruined me for all other romance novels. After reading her material, I find the others to be tame, dull and overall anticlimactic. I am not ashamed to admit that I have read each of her books at least twice.

Series 17/22; Sci-fi; e-Book; Own

Vice Admiral Niobe finally allows herself to be mate tested, and finds out that she was immediately matched. She teleports to her mate, Elite Hunter Quinn, only to find herself in a Hive base with her mate a prisoner. She rescues him, and they go back to the nearest starship, where they mate.

This story revolves around Quinn's need to protect Niobe, even though he acknowledges that she's a skilled warrior who deserves her rank that she's earned.

Thoroughly enjoyed this latest story in the Insterstellar Brides series. Can't wait to read the next book!

Niobe is the vise admiral of the Coalition she is the second highest ranking in the hole military. But she is alone her friends talked her into getting tested for the bridges program and she was matched so then she’s was transported to the location where he is but it’s not what it was supposed to be it has been taken over by the Hive. Quinn is now a prisoner being integrated into a Hive soldier. But Niobe saves him and others then locks down the hole place to come back and rescue the others. So after a rocky start things get sorted out. But things are still not worked out. So enjoy another good read and see how it gets worked out !!

Elite Hunter Quinn of Everis, is the last captured member of his team alive. He is gradually being turned into a robotic soldier by Nexis 4, but fighting it every step of the way. Vice Admiral Niobe is on R&R with 2 friends when they talk her into taking a bride match test. Sure that no match will be found she is surprised when they say they have one and are going to send her to him. Needless to say both are surprised when she shows up, determines the situation and breaks him out. Now they must figure out how to stop the Nexis and figure out how to mesh their very different lives. Fun, erotic read.

..."the hunt was part of the mating."

Niobe wasn't planning on being tested and matched as a bride, but some part of her had apparently decided now was the time to take a chance.

Quinn watched the transporter pad day in, day out... not in his wildest imagination could he have envisioned anything remotely like Niobe's arrival, and how it would change her life.

This done in one book has some wonderful immersive writing that captures two similar yet different personalities. Both characters are driven, and care about others, giving them some solid common ground.

I was disappointed that the hunting scene when they first become mates was on a starship. The "testing" hunt scene was in a forest.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

He loved her but he let her leave with the captured Nexus from the Hive station. He thought she didn't want him because he tried to kill the Nexus instead of taking him alive like she ordered. Yes, she was angry he didn't follow orders (they have to study the Nexus to try and end the war) but he wanted revenge for his dead soldier friends.

He tracks her down at work and they fix their relationship.

Catch me if you can

Vice Admiral Niobe gets tested and mated and what a wierd roller coaster ride that was.
The push and pull of whose in charge, the dynamics of the Alpha male from Everis and spitfire stubborn female from Earth, where interesting.
Elite Hunter Quinn had to learn how to deal with his mate and how to appease his instincts to protect her when she is more than capable of doing that herself.

Grace Goodwin makes the Interstellar Brides Program come to life for her readers and I may or may not have taken the bride testing my self once or twice. This is a must read series in my opinion for anyone who likes alien fantasy romances. She even throws in some abductions and daring rescues with some very well detailed fight scenes that allow your imagination to take root. You can’t go wrong reading a book by Grace Goodwin!

I thought this story was incredibly action packed and intriguing. I appreciated that both characters were set in their ways which was part of the conflict of the narrative. However, opposites do attract, and two very different people can still find common ground.

I am looking forward to reading more of this series. I appreciate that they take place on several different planets and feature a variety of species, all with unique mating customs.

Always the same but still fun to read

This long running series has the same plot throughout. Even though you know what's going to happen, they are still steamy and fun to read. I liked that the heroine was the one in command instead of the hero. Always entertaining and a quick read.

As always Ms Goodwin has written a fascinating book. The characters and story is so realistic you feel as thought you are there with them. Warden Engage was mentioned and I, along with masses of readers, are not so patiently, waiting for her story. All the books in this series has been the best but her story has got to be the very best.
