A Parrot's Life for Me

by Arlen Cohn, Daniel Vasconcellos (Illustrations)

What's a pirate without his parrot? In this charming story, a wise and resourceful parrot befriends an ornery pirate named Tom, and together they set sail for swashbuckling adventure on the high seas. But when Tom and his crew come across an opposing pirate fleet, a battle is imminent-unless Tom's parrot can teach these pirates how to work together.Following on the heels of Lacey O'Neal, A Parrot's Life for Me is an Accord picture book that uses interactive cords that enhance the story's whimsical illustrations-and help propel an already rollicking plot.Ages 4 and up.

I thought this was a cute story about a pirate’s parrot and the invention of s’mores. The rhythm was a bit forced, but that’s my only quibble with the book.
