Wow, this book is AMAZING!!! Where to start....
First off, I read a lot of pnr. I've been in a bit of a rut lately because I feel like all of the characters are the same, with the same conflict/story arc. This book hits on all the aspects of pnr that I love, and also is completely different from anything else I've read! I love the characters. They're complex, smart, and driven. Everything about them is believable (they aren't too perfect or supremely dumb, which always annoys me). Addy is a total ...more

Thought it would be too "girly" for me, but I was pleasantly surprised. The book was awesome. Twists and turns around every corner, and characters I was rooting for. Good read!

The story unfolds quickly and the tension keeps going higher and higher. I would say be warned that there are child deaths in the book, and it ends on a cliffhanger, so don't buy if you can't handle those, but I enjoyed the book overall quite a bit. The worlds had a really interesting mythology and I had a hard time putting the book down until I was done.

I wanted to like this, but I just couldn’t get into this book. The flow was very slow. The world building is a learn as the MFC does, for the most part. The dual perspective flips back and forth, but kind of hurts the story in my opinion, because it flips from one to another before I really learn what the one character is thinking sort of thing. It got to be a bit too distracting being so fast. Addy (the FMC) is ok, but I really didn’t get where I liked her or cared about her, s ...more

Good Prince
Addy and Tol had so many hardships to fight through to even get to know one another that it is amazing they actually found one another. They made it through the getting to know and falling in love. Now the question is will they get to actually get to make a couple?. I don't know. Have to read book two. Yeah, page turner and cliffhanger! ...more

Awesome story.. and I love it even more because there's no sex scenes that are all consuming like some books I've read. Nice and relaxing change for once. Looking forward to see how it turns out. Really hoping that true love will conquer all!

I picked this up on an absolute spontaneous whim, and I have to say this is NOT a well written book, but I definitely enjoyed reading it. So why 2 stars? Well, because this books has PROBLEMS and I don't get why there's no feedback on any of it?
First, there is pretty much no internal logic. Or external. I don't think the author thought very hard about how to make events happen in any sort of logical way or what the actual consequences would be (especially considering this is set in the real worl ...more

How does he know she is the one? She can see him glow.
This one had an interesting first chapter then was kind of a slow going and turned weird and interesting after a couple of chapters. Addy doesn't look like the rest of her family and even though she enjoys life on a farm she is not interested in what her family wants for her. After a break in at her house, her parents starting talking of moving but she thinks they are just paranoid and convinces them to think about it more. The her best frien ...more

I received this as an advanced reading copy.
The premise is a good premise. I enjoyed a lot of the aspects of the story. There is something about the writing that comes across as YA yet a lot of the content is a bit more on the adult side.
One of my issues is that, without revealing what happened, Addy has two very traumatic events within days of each other. She was still processing one when the other happens. I think there should have been more of a reaction on Ady's part to these events than th ...more

I received this book free as an ARC reader for review.
Basically, it all boils down to a case of mistaken identity. Addy has never fit in. She doesn’t look like any of her family, not even her twin. She doesn’t want the same things they do, she feels stifled by their simple farm life. However, once they’ve been taken from her she’ll do anything to get the lone survivor back. He’ll gather no furry like a pissed off woman with garden shears.
Tor though he’d hate his eternal mate. Then he met Addy, a ...more

Addy went to dinner and when she returns there is blood.
Adelyne has always felt like she was in the wrong family as they were all barely over five foot and she was six foot one also her looks were completely different too. After spending the evening at the neighboring farm she returns home she finds blood everywhere and the bodies of her family lay slaughtered in the kitchen but her twin Olivia was missing. The very start of the book had me intrigued. Tol is sexy, and full of heart for his people. Addy is brave, loyal and out of place!
I am going to put in a trigger warning for those who have issues with young children being murdered. It's not very detailed throughout, but it did catch me off guard for a moment. You've been warned, but I still implore you to read this book!

Sci-fi
An interesting story but annoying as no clear indication that it was a cliffhanger for a series. The killing of children always ruins a story for me so even though the story interested it's not anything I read. I didn't take off points for personal taste ...more

to be honest, I could not even make it past chapter 2. I just think this book is not for me and maybe for a much younger person. Not rating as I don't think it would be fair since I didn't make it very far.

A brilliantly written fantasy romance, with a twist ending you'd never see coming! It's a fresh take on magic, and turns the idea of fate/destiny upside down. If you love smart, sexy, butt-kicking characters, you'll love this book...I did!

OK read

Such a beautiful story! I couldn't put it down. I loved that the characters didn't feel too young (I'm 24, and I sometimes feel like the YA books I adore are just too...high school (and yes, I get that many of them are supposed to be). Tol is an old soul, and Addy is pure fire[cracker]. Can't wait for the next installment!
