Who is Last?

Fame is rare in Driftwood--it's hard to get famous if you don't stick around long enough for people to know you. But many know the guide, Last, a one-blooded survivor who has seen his world end many lifetimes ago. For Driftwood is a strange place of slow apocalypses, where continents eventually crumble into mere neighborhoods, pulled inexorably towards the

Driftwood is one of the most incredibly creative fantasies you will find. The story isn't about world-building as much as world-shattering. Think of a universe built of concentric circles.

Driftwood is the end, the end of the ends. Nothing comes after that. Only oblivion, and maybe not even that much.

A beautiful book made up of many stories, species, and worlds, all connected by a man named Last. I received an ARC from Tachyon Publications through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Some kind of grand philosophical mission, something that would push back, if only for a moment, against the inescapable nihilism of this place.

Here you are. That is exactly what Driftwood is.
It's many things, actually. Tons of puzzle pieces that come together - or clash - to form a spectacular picture of survivors.

This book is the story of Last, an inhabitant of Driftwood, the place where hundreds of
