Rate this book
The Agency of Extraordinary Mates Not your average dating service. This one caters to creatures of the ether... Weres, Vampires, Elves, Faeries, Satyrs, Incubi, and much more.
It’s a world of fantasy, of lust and love, but most of all, it’s a world of dreams-come-true for the lucky few who arrive on the pristine shores of Chimera Island… Kate Douglas -- Finding Magic
Lust at first sight
At 6’ 6", ebony skinned bodyguard Lester Ondáge radiates enough pure, unadulterated sex to drive a sane man crazy. The effect on a love-starved gay Elf is practically lethal. Lester and Tady could be the perfect match -- if they can bring their employers together.
There’s a small glitch… Lorcan and Amanda.
Lorcan, Crown Prince of the Northern Realm, has a problem. He doesn't want a wife, but if he doesn’t find one on his own, his mother’s going to choose one for him -- the last thing any self-respecting Dragon wants. He might be willing to change his mind, now that he’s found his "Chosen One" -- but the last thing Amanda, a successful but unhappy Hollywood star, wants is a man -- or a Dragon -- with attitude. Lester and Tady have their work cut out for them, but on the magical island of Chimera, miracles can -- and do -- happen! "Finding Magic is a fast, sexy read that has a wildly romantic thread woven into its steamy ‘lust at first sight’ premise... It’s a wonderful fantasy that will keep you hot and bothered but leave you with a satisfied smile!" -- Patrice Storie, Just Erotic Romance Reviews 4 Play by Eve Vaughn

She’s won an all expense paid trip to Chimera Island Resort -- in the Bermuda Triangle! Even though she’s convinced there’s a catch, Trina has to get away from New Jersey, and it is free. But to her dismay, the island is crawling with men! Three men in particular won't take "No" for an answer.

Some people just seem to know they are meant to write, but it can still take a while to figure out exactly what their career will entail. Kate Douglas started out writing radio copy for a country western radio station in 1972, wrote and illustrated an educational cartoon strip for the American Mosquito Control Association for a number of years, was a newspaper reporter for a small town weekly where she covered everything from high school sports to drug busts, and then, in the mid-1980s, decided to write her first romance.

Many submissions and rejections followed.

In 1998, she sold to a small ebook publisher before anyone knew what an ebook was, but it wasn't until 2005, a full twenty years after finishing that first romance, that she signed with a New York publisher.

In January 2006, Kensington Publishing launched their Aphrodisia imprint of erotic romance with Kate's Wolf Tales, a sexy paranormal series about a lost race of shapeshifters. She went on to write 21 novels and novellas in that series, then wrote three other series for Kensington before moving to St. Martin's Press.

She has two series with SMP--The Intimate Relations series complete with three novels and one novella of romantic suspense set in California's wine country, and an erotic paranormal series, Feral Passions, set in California's Trinity Alps.

She is also continuing her Spirit Wild series, the sequel to Wolf Tales, independently.

Kate and her husband of over forty-five years have two adult children and six grandchildren. They live in the small town of Healdsburg, California, in the heart of the beautiful Sonoma County wine country.

I am a sucker for a good anthology book. Sometimes I don't want the commitment of a long novel. So I eagerly started this one and finished it in one setting. All of the stories are written by different authors. All are erotic and kept my interest, and they gave me a couple of hours of enjoyment:)
The backstory to all of these stories are Paranormal beings are looking for Mates. There is a resort where they "sponsor" their potential mate after doing some extensive research on them. Many times, the potential mate has no idea they are being set up on the ultimate blind date...they just think they have won the vacation of a lifetime.
Finding Magic by Kate Douglas
This story has a "twofer" love story in it. Amanda is a very famous actress who is suffering from burn out. When her homosexual assisant-who is also her best friend- pushes her to go on vacation, she gives in reluctantly. When she runs into a handsome, but arrogant Lorcan she is attracted to him despite her first impression of him.
Lorcan is a shape-shifting Dragon Prince who must find a mate. When he meets Amanda for the first time he is immediately smitten, but seems to always say the wrong thing to her. Determined to have her he sets out to woo her and hope that she will give her heart and body to him, even though he is a Dragon.
If you have read any Kate Douglas stories, you know what you are in for. There is some mild BDSM between the secondary love story-Amanda's assistant and Lorcan's man in waiting. There are also some M/M interaction between the secondary characters. Honestly, I liked all of the characters in this story, so the M/M contact didn't bother me. This may not be for everyone though, so I thought I would warn you.
4 Play by Eve Vaughn
When Trina wins her dream vacation she is ready to get away from it all. She is a strong, hard working heroine who has been down on her luck for awhile, so not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, she jumps at the chance to escape for a while.
She is surprised when she is persued by not one but three men all claiming they are her mate and they love her. Between the undivided attention she recieves from them and the hot sex, well this turns into the vacation of a lifetime.
This has Menage scenes and some strong language in this story. I liked all of the characters the Heroes are very sexy, likable shapeshifting lions. They definately know how to treat a lady...no wonder Trina fell so hard for them...lol
Sea God's Pleasure by Alice Gaines
Gloria is an art dealer whose bad attitude and well for a better word Bitchiness is driving her employees crazy. When she "wins" a dream vacation her employees insist on her taking it or they will quit. So despite her reluctance she agrees to go.
She has always been attracted to a painting portraying "a sea god's pleasure" for some reason it has always spoken to her on many levels. So when she spots the most beautiful man she has ever seen coming out of the ocean to her, she is spellbound because he looks just like her object of desire.
Quarian the god of the sea can only have one mate. When he sees Gloria, he knows immediately that she is the one for him. But will Gloria's stubborness and unwillingness to give her heart away being him eternal loneliness?
I really loved Quarian. I didn't care for Gloria much. I really thought she was well...a bitch, but I was willing to overlook her shortcomings because I liked him so much. He is noble, strong, smart and sexy. How could I not be drawn to him?
I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading the second one in this series!
If you are offended by dirty words and hot sex, this book is not for you.

It was different. There were actually three stories in the book by different authors. The first story was good but there was a secondary story in it that was male/male. The second story was a menage. The third story was traditional male/female. Overall, I liked it. The basic idea behind all three stories is that there is a resort that caters to supernatural beings and helping them find their mates.

I liked the idea of Chimera Island. An island where non-humans could find mates. But already by the 2nd story the formula was not working anymore for me. I don't know why. I liked the stories and chartacters (hence the 2 stars). But there are several other volumes after this one that unless the author interests me, I won't buy. This is a Changling Press Pub.

Chimera Island, where otherworldly beings can find their mates, sounds like a wonderful place to visit. Sun, sand, gorgeous men. Each story is written by a different author, but they do reference or introduce characters from each other's stories. This is an erotic book, so be prepard for some sex. Since this is an Anthology, you can finish a story fairly quickly.

Multi-author themed anthology [Kate Douglas and Eve Vaughn and Alice Gaines] - pretty much a sex fest. Contains one story with m/m contact and one with 'moresome' sex. OK read although I found myself flipping through the stories pretty quickly.

There are several in this series.
