“…breathtakingly broad tour of intellectual ground.”
Kirkus Reviews

“Stephens gets all the evolutionary ducks in a row, and (like a sniper) dispatches every one with a single bullet. There are no wasted shots”
David Pogge, Science Against Evolution

“The one of the most stimulating invitations to thought yet presented! …This is an outstanding opus to explore and digest. Highly recommended. “
Grady Harp

“All in all, Stephens has written a brilliantly structured and comprehensively researched book on the questions surrounding the theory of evolution. For any reader curious about the weak points in Darwinian dogma, Evolution Tested may not be a fully impartial read, but it will be an enlightening one.”
Self-Publishing Reviews

“It is a surprisingly well-rounded interpretation of the literature in a broad spectrum of subjects, all treated with respect and nuance. Colour me surprised!
It is a worthwhile read; I would recommend this book to people of all ages. I hope Cs. Stephens writes more books.”

“It would be an understatement to say Evolution Evolution & Empiricism by CS Stephens is an in depth study of the theory, facts, and the founders of evolution. Though this is an intense read the author's meticulous skill of defining terms and outlining thoughts keeps this book quite enjoyable. The author presents the facts about the theory of evolution and allows the reader to form their own thoughts on the subject.”
JJ Maxson

“Reading this book really changed my outlook on a lot of things in life.”

Possibly, Charles Darwin and Evolution are in the top scientific names known to everyone who ever attended school in the past century, as famous as Einstein, Isaac Newton or Francis Bacon. But Darwin is the only one who has both an official day of the year dedicated to him, and has won a federal lawsuit declaring evolution to be the official and sole creation theory taught in schools. Evolution is considered such a mighty concept that it is said to be the Unifying Principle for all of biology.

Many careers are devoted to, and depend on, evolution. Many hundreds, if not thousands, of books have been written about evolution. The truth value of the evolution concept is not merely presupposed, it is constantly asserted. And the asseverated inferiority of anyone not fully embracing the proclaimed axiomatic nature of evolution is the emotional coercion to embrace, without question, its validity.

If someone might dive deep into the principles and premises of this unification principle, what would rise to the top, especially when compared to the scientific principles of Bacon, Locke, Hume, Popper, Einstein and Feynman? These are the universally accepted principles of Empiricism, which is purposefully designed to eliminate subjective opinion, religious dogma, appeals to authority, fiction/fantasy, and ideology from the pursuit of objective knowledge of the material universe. If objective knowledge is the goal, then empiricism is the answer – the only answer, because objective knowledge can be falsified; subjective knowledge cannot.

What empirical, objective knowledge exists which is undoubtedly and incorrigibly valid in its support for evolution, or any of the sub-principles used to scaffold evolutionary claims? Do we find such, or do we find fictions created surrounding fossil finds, those which ironically do not themselves support the claims made surrounding evolution?

Only by critical analysis of each individual evolutionary premise and assertion by comparison to the Bacon-Locke-Popper-Feynman principles, and comparison to logical conclusions under the Aristotelian hypothetico-deductive procedures, can the validity of any and all claims made under the aegis of evolution be assessed.

That’s what happens here.

Challenging The Theory of Evolution

Evolution Tested: Evolution & Empiricism Viewed Through Engineering Standards by CS Stephens is an analytical and logically argued book that goes into great depth to discredit the theory of evolution.

The author draws upon his intellect, his full grasp of presenting a logically thought out concept as well as his in-depth study of the theory of evolution to present his argument.

Additionally, he puts on full display his unique perspective by penning a comparison debate between the practices of evolutionary professionals in comparison to the enlightenment definition of Empiricism.

He also builds a logical argument against their being sufficient reason to proclaim evolution as a pure and disciplined source of objective knowledge.

Also, as a true academic, he raises the question of "is evolutionary science true" and then, step-by-step begins to dissect this simple statement by defining, challenging and addressing each aspect of that particular question.

Evolution Tested: Evolution & Empiricism Viewed Through Engineering Standards by CS Stephens is truly a "treat" for the reader who enjoys an intellectual challenge and the way the author debunks the theory of evolution brick by brick.

At the conclusion of the book, the diligent reader will certainly be rewarded with copious amounts of information, a logical and strong presentation to consider and solid arguments so the reader can ascertain whether they believe in evolution or not.

The author does not lead the reader down one particular path or the other, but clearly lays out a path that challenges the long-held theory of evolution.

At its worst, the reading of this book will certainly create additional questions raised within the reader's mind and at best will provide significant answers and reveal to the open-minded reader that the theory of evolution does not make sense.

This book is the authors attempt to present information and facts to the reader, in order to persuade them to reevaluate their views on Evolutionary Theories. The Theory of Evolution is mainly attributed to Charles Darwin and his research, but rarely are the scientists and researchers who came before him ever quoted. I liked that in this book the author presented all the research, prevailing theories, counter arguments and logic that pertain to the theory of evolution. It may seem like a lot of information for one book and to some extent it is, but the author did a good job in allowing the information to be arranged and written in such a way, that it is easier to follow than in a bunch of scientific papers. This is not to say this is an easy read, or a read where you do not encounter complex words. This will throw some people off while they read, but if you are truly interested in this sort of thing, then you will certainly gain much from the book itself and the information presented.

Fascinating

Reading this book really changed my outlook on a lot of things in life. As mentioned in this book, many people just take for granted or completely accept the ideas presented by those who do not believe in evolution like parents or certain educators. It is important to do your own research and come to your own conclusions based on the evidence and tests done extensively throughout the years by dedicated scientists. I like the format of the book; it really breaks down tons of aspects of evolutionary theory and examples. I found it easy to follow and understand even as someone who isn’t a scientist obviously. The book has diagrams and pictures which are helpful for some explanations too. This book really made me think and want to keep doing MORE research and now I’m kind of obsessed. Really interesting! Pick up this book!

Evolution tested

This book questions the validity of the theory of evolution. There is no direct discussion of the theory of creation but there is clear information that has been collected to directly dispute the theory of evolution. There are many books and countless hours of research devoted and dedicated to the theory of evolution and this book will have you second guessing and questioning this well known and well thought of theory on the development of the human race. There is a lot of good information collected and discussed in Evolution Tested and it will be up to you, the reader, to decide what you believe. Check this one out and let me know what you believe.

From whence we came? Re-visiting the theory of Evolution

Author CS Stephens opens windows of discussion about our origins and in doing so revisits the concepts of Creation as presented in the Bible and Evolution as championed by Charles Darwin. The result: one of the most stimulating invitations to thought yet presented!

The book is very well researched and presented with fine scholarly credentials and the conflicting theories of ‘how it all started’ are offered in a manner that no matter the beliefs of the reader, this is a fascinating presentation of contemporary thought.

Stephens presents the purpose of this book in his Preface, and this summary is as succinct as any that could be written about the content: ‘‘There is an existential difference between explanation and demonstration. Explanation of a phenomenon could involve a shaman’s declaration that he darkness of an eclipse is due to the fury of a god’s disapproval of some infraction by humans. That explanation covers the phenomenon of the eclipse. But it is not a correct discernment of the actual physical cause which is at play. Demonstration, on the other hand, requires that the phenomenon be understood well enough that it can be shown to be inevitable and based in physical law, and the phenomenon can be deduced, predicted, and observed as it is predicted. The difference between explanation without demonstration vs. explanation with demonstration is the difference between subjective knowledge (opinion, ill-founded ideology, fantasy) and objective knowledge (observable, with assent given by rational, non-vested observers). The first purpose of this investigation is to analyze the purported scientific practice of evolutionary professionals compared to both the Enlightenment definition of Empiricism and the actual practices required of engineering disciples. The second purpose of this analysis is to determine whether there is sufficient cause to designate evolution as a pristine, disciplined source of objective knowledge…”

In addition to the author’s scientific approach in discussing the concept of Evolution in a manner that is revelatory, he inserts threads of thought about that changes in present mentation – ‘You already know this: we now live n a society of corrupted meanings, inverted definitions, and questionable intellectual and ethical processes. For example, the meaning of “truth” has been artlessly manhandled in the past few decades as the effects of Post-Modernism have taken hold. It has left us with mutually contradictory claims such as “X is true” and yet “there is no truth.” And it is with this connection with the reader that the presentation of the validity of Evolution Theory is made credible. This is an outstanding opus to explore and digest. Highly recommended.

The theory of evolution redefined
The concept of the biblical account of creation and Darwin’s theory of evolution has always being a topic for discussion among folks. CS Stephens once more opens another exciting discussion about this issue.
Through thorough research and skillful presentation, the author was able to produce a work that everyone will find interesting to read no matter your belief. Right from the preface of this book, I was able to figure out Stephens’ purpose for this book. He clearly stated it—it was not going to be a biased book.
The author employs a scientific approach to dealing with the subject matter in an innovative manner. This is one of the most precise books I have read about evolution. The author tries to figure out whether there are substantial reasons to support evolution and compare it with the ideas we find in the field of empiricism. Secondly, he tries to look at what empiricism really means and the right approach provided for studying evolution scientifically.
There is a lot of interesting subject matter raised in this book by the author which he also did well to do justice to. This book is beautifully done, well researched and suitable for use in academic settings.

As a person of Faith, I did not find Evolution Tested: Evolution & Empiricism a threat to my own beliefs, in fact I felt it confirmed what I already believe. I found a quote by CS Stephens humorous, "You already know this: we now live in a society of corrupted meanings, inverted definitions, and questionable intellectual and ethical processes." I think this would be a good book for high school and college age students to read, along with some of their professors. It isn't an easy read, but challenging.
