Nia's Diary : A Domestic Violence Story

Rate this book
Dear Diary, I’m afraid for my life. I don’t see how I missed all the red flags. I was so caught up in Weston being the prefect man for me that I didn’t see his true colors. I don’t know how much longer I will be able to hide the truth about him from people. I feel each day around him will be my last and I don’t know how leave him. He has made so many threats, I feel deep down he will go through with one of them. I smile on the outside but deep down, I’m praying to be sent free. All Nia Green wants is a family of her own. Thinking she's well on her way with her boyfriend Sean, her dream is suddenly crushed when he ups and dumps her without warning. Hurt with no understanding, Nia's bestfriend Shamika convinces her to a night out to the club. That's when she meets Weston. A man who instantly sweeps her off of her feet with his charm. Everything about Weston was just perfect. That's until she finds out who Weston really is. Weston is the kind of guy that every woman wants. Handsome and loving, he knows all the right things to do to keep a lady happy. Instantly falling for Nia, he learns everything about her to cater to her every need. But what happens when time passes and his true colors start to show? Will he still be that sweet, charming man she'd first fell in love with? Every woman has something or someone who holds their secrets. In Nia's case, it's her diary. And it just may be the only thing that saves her life.

Crazy Weston

The story flowed well. I feel like Nia did a lot of foolishness by jumping into a relationship so quick. I mean Weston gave so many signs that he was up to something. The whole dropping the charges situation pissed me off. There was a lot of grammatical errors and misspelled names.

Amazing

If you are a person that have been through this, you know the feeling so well. When dealing with a abusive man you never know what to do. This book is a page turner and I can't wait for Part 2

Very good book, but needs to be edited. A lot of misspelled words, graphical errors and words missing. Other then that, the book was very engaging

Duped again

I am so fed up with this series trend! If your book is a series, please let it be known in the title or synopsis so that the reader can decide when they want to start. Some series NEVER get completed, leaving the reader with an endless cliffhanger. Or sometimes the next part comes so much later you don't remember anything from before. Yes, I'm livid to get to the 'end', which is to be continued.

This was an excellent depiction of domestic abuse and Nia was a prime candidate - no family, desperate for love, and in love with being in love. You would think having been dumped, she'd be a little less eager to jump into something else. You'd think that warnings from her only friend would be heeded, but the heart wants what the heart wants. I' m not saying she deserved any of this, just that she made it a lot easier for the monster who saw she was ripe for the picking.

Nia's desire made her turn the other cheek and cover up for that monster until she felt she was trapped. Just a reminder - if he hits you once, he WILL do it again. Don't fall for the apologies, the flowers, the begging and pleading, the tears or the 'I'll get help'. RUN. For your life.

This was an excellent storyline for an awful subject that too many women (and men) suffer through on a daily basis. What I can't understand is why the author didn't feel the need to have this story edited. The actual writing was unpolished, filled with incorrect, added or missing words, misspellings, past and present tense used in the same sentence or paragraph. The author did an injustice to her own work, not to mention the reader. Even though I loved how the story was presented (diary), and the storyline, I can't get on board with such shoddy writing, along with a surprise cliffhanger. Honestly, I WILL read part 2 if it is released soon, but I sincerely hope the author presents the edited version.

2.5 rolled to a 3 for rating purposes
The story revolved around Nia and her desire to experience love and be a part of an adult positive relationship. That need lead her to the arms of someone who would change the course of her existence. The content was definitely relevant and somewhat informative, especially when it came to the red flags we should be aware of in romantic relationships. I think the author gave a realistic look at domestic violence. My score is due to the multiple errors that were missed before publishing. They constantly pulled me out of the story. and lessened the impact of its message and entertainment value.
That being said, I am looking forward to part two.

Abrupt ending

I didn’t really like it. It had too many grammatical
Errors and such an abrupt ending. Nia was a typical girl who was looking for love in all the wrong places. She finally met a nice guy and he turned out to be a nightmare. I feel Sabrina set her up. I really felt like she should’ve listened to Shameika. I’m curious to know what direction the author is going with in part 2

Why..spoilers

I wish I knew this would've had a part 2 I never would've read it ..so many errors did this book even make it to a editor...I get the concept and understand the story line but how pitiful could she be when he made the baby fall on the floor that should've been the push she needed to start plotting on his ass if going in labor early and almost losing him didn't do it this should have been a standalone to many long and dragged out diary entries

Oh wow

Man I can't believe that Weston and his wife r in cahoots with Nia's disappearance. I hope Nia is ok but knowing all the abuse tht Weston has been putting her though I feel for her life. I can't wait to read the nxt part and hope that Sean finds her before it's too late and Weston get what's coming to him I feel sorry if his wife is helping him to commit the ultimate crime

Annoyed

What could've and should've been a stand alone novel is being dragged out for no good reason. Could use more proof reading, using words out context i.e lost for loss. I felt for Nia in the beginning but as the book dragged on she simply became annoying. After going through so much Weston she finally stood up for herself and seemed like she would make it only to make more foolish decisions. It's just enough to keep you reading to be left hanging in the end.

Heart Broken 💔

My heart broke for Nia. I was so angry. Like why didn't she just asked for help! From those who loved her and cared about her.
But felt better to asked help from the wrong person! Smh...
Is there going to be A part two?

I’m so disappointed in Nia

I don’t understand how Nia could be so naive. She had the resources and she turned them all down. And why did it end so abruptly. I think it should’ve ended in this book. This book will have you screaming at your phone

Scandalous

Wow what a twist in the story. I knew Nia shouldn’t have confronted the wife. Many women drop a restraining order or let the person come back not know it’s the biggest mistake. Hurry up part 2!

Why can’t men just let go

This story was crazy but all so true and happens every day. It’s sad to say that some people are just cowards and love to beat on women and terrify them. Living a double life and expecting both women to be faithful to them
