Carpenter and Harding are waiting for the most important delivery, and the clock is ticking down to the birth of their baby

roles are changing as Jordan is on desk duty, and Ellie keeps landing big cases

someone close to the team is caught in big trouble

disturbing murder and kidnapping elements keep popping up, which unfortunately means Bethany pops up too.

for Bethany the baby is a big surprise, and Bethany is not an entirely welcome addition to pending cases with her nosiness and pointed commentaries

drama and dangers build as Carpenter and Harding get reminders that not everything can be planned for when baby is on board

it's interesting that the situation for the couple is so different from even twenty years ago. then, same sex marriage was only beginning to be an option in a few locations, and kids were usually through a previous relationship, foster kids, or adopted in the limited situations when that was possible at the time

happy changes, yet I am sad for so many who missed out on the exciting options Jordan and Ellie have open to them

Another Hit!

Jordan & Ellie are about to have a baby and it's forced Jordan to be relegated to desk duty; while her wife continues to work homicides.

A man obsessed with a woman for years kidnaps her because he loves her and believes in time she will feel the same.

While the off duty homicide detectives are away for a weekend at cabins out of the city, a man knocks on their door requesting help for his wife at his cabin. Suspicious a couple of detectives go check it out since they are only a short distance away. A few days later the house is burned to the ground.

Jordan's old partner gives her a hard time at dinner over department rumors. She receives chocolates the next day as an apology.

Now Jordan is in a mans sights for she was suppose to be his and he vows to have her soon.

Twists and turns keep on coming. Love this series!

Definitely worth the wait!

Ellie and Jordan's story continues in book 10 with a new addition. Solving a mystery, while pregnant, can be difficult, but with Ellie by Jordan's side nothing is hard.
This is another really good addition to their story by Barbara. Even though the wait seems like forever, her installments in this series are always worth it! If you have a few hours and you love a good detective storyline, grab this one! You won't be disappointed. Now the wait begins for book 11..... sigh.

Cannot get enough

The mixture of real life and good old detective work is what makes Carpetender and Harding such a joy to read. I love these characters and cannot wait to see their relationship grow as they solve their cases.

Book 10 - whoa!!

So much happened in this one and there's a big cliffhanger at the end. The ensemble of characters had bigger parts to play, and they worked together like a well-oiled machine. I'm starting Book 11 when I've finished writing this review!

Intriguing!

The pace in this book seems a little bit slower than in most of the previous books in this series. There's still plenty of action and lots of twists and turns you won't see coming. Be sure to put this series on your must read list!
