Anderson was a prolific food writer in the 1970's. "Grass Roots" is her national exploration of the cooking of the early 20th Century. Her research for this work relied extensively on the works of home economists - and home ec groups - associated with the USDA Extension Services and our Land Grant Universities. Not a scholarly work, but very usable.
