J-Bird: I finally felt that itch to settle down that my parents and older brother, Deck, had been hounding me about. Lindsay Parker was the first girl to stir that itch in me. Which made it that much more unfortunate when she introduced me to her best friend, Christina. That girl blew me away the first day we met, but she would forever remain off limits because she would never betray her best friend even if I scraped Lindsay off first. So, I stuck it out with Lindsay and longed for her best friend for seven long months and the announcement that I was about to be a father. Then it all crashed down around me in the most literal sense possible along with the lies I'd been fed. There's an evil inside me that destroys the women who dare to love me. Never again, and especially not with the one I really wanted, needed, fell so hard for. I would spare her my curse, even if it killed me. Christina: I was in love with my best friend's man! It was getting harder to hide my feelings especially when I had to watch them cuddled up together. My feelings sent me running away to Savannah, Georgia. Sure, it wasn't far, but I moved in with my aunt to become her nanny while I suffered through blind date boredom on top of blind date disaster trying to find anyone who could make me forget the one man I couldn't have. It seemed to work until they came to visit to share their good news. I wish I could have been happy for my friend while she got everything I wanted. Instead, I smiled to her face and cursed the fates that night for her meeting him first. I wished I could go back and shove all that bitter resentment down, because by morning, I blamed myself for the ill wishes I had thrown into the universe. By morning, reality came crashing in, and it changed everything. The Killing Ride is book 4 of the Aces High MC - Charleston Series which you must read in order! There is no cheating in this book by the main characters. 2 ⭐⭐ - Meh!
==============
He’d been with another woman for most of our relationship according to this. We had two years without her. That was it, and that had been during high school. Then I had been sharing him with someone for the past three.

I lost both of my parents to a situation involving another woman. Now, I’d just lost my husband in a similar way. He knew. He had to know what this would do to me.

“I know, you were married to him. I know you guys were together since you were 16, but he was cheating on you for most of that time, and almost your entire marriage. He doesn’t deserve your continued grief.”

“You need to clear it with your woman first?” I laughed. “No. It isn’t like that with us.” “You moved in together, didn’t you?”

I hadn’t even slept with Lindsay in damn near a month. I just wasn’t feeling it.

hmmmm how to rate this book?

well the first 3/4s was really enjoyable, i loved the story of jbirds struggle to reconcile his actions to Ever and his relationship with t-bone.

the whole Lyndsey romance and moving in with her frankly was plain silly- not only did they not remotely have any chemistry or things in common, why would he move in with her? introduce her to his family? it wasnt remotely believable, yeah he said he saw her as a good friend but i didnt even see that either! it was so meh it was unreal.

Christina, didnt particularly like her tbh and what really really spoilt the book for me was the last 1/4 of the book where they moved and she suddently is into bikes and becomes a S.H.E! totally implausable, i was cringing it was so bad. as if you can take a few lession of the mechanics on how to ride a motorbike and then you are on your own and riding with the club? yeah no!! it takes a lot more than that to ride a bike!!! but hey they have her riding like a pro in no time, can i have some lessons please too cos fuck me they're amazing teachers.

totally ruined what up to then was a great book. It's like CM tried to fit too much in and had to fit them into the jigsaw puzzle so thought oh hey i'll make her a biker chick! NO! it was ridiculous! but hey if it ties the book into the other storylines for the other series what the hell yeah?

nope sorry CM should have stuck with the original concept and kept to it.

not sure if CM getting so many books out is spoiling the quality of the books cos frankly not read one that was as good as The Other Princess. CM is gonna have to be careful with this otherwise she's going to become like all the other mc biker authors out there and just end up writing mediocre formulaic books that no one wants to read!!!

Disappointed!

The book was good

Let me start by saying that I received an ARC of this book but I also purchased from Amazon to have as part of my collection. Jay (J-Bird) is not my favorite character in the Charleston series so I was not as excited for his book as I was for others in the series. I was disappointed that the main characters hardly had any interaction in the first half of the book. Jay spent to much time crying over Toby's death and his relationships with Ever, Deck, and his father and the story dragged a bit because of it. I would have enjoyed the story more if the relationship between Jay and Christina had been developing earlier in the story. SPOILERS AHEAD: There is always character deaths in these books but Christina lost her parents to a murder/suicide, her husband to suicide and her best friend to a motorcycle accident. This did not make me feel sympathy for Christina, I just wanted to say "Jeez, how many more people are going to die?". I did not feel the angst level in this book as I did in the previous books and it did not make me want to cry. I really just wanted to get to the end of the book. The last 25% of the book was great and I wanted more of that part of the story. I was excited that we got to visit with the ladies of SHE and I'm looking forward to reading their stories in the future. It's incredibly hard to create characters and an entire MC world much less several worlds (MC Chapters), having the various characters interact in all the books and keep their stories and timelines straight but the author, Christine Michelle, does manage this pretty well. There are the usual grammar and punctuation mistakes normally found in self published books but it was not an issue for me.

Now this, I enjoyed surprisingly, considering the other books were complete disappointments to me. I loved the character development of the H, from the first book to this one. I also liked the h, Christina. But I hated the fact that Lindsey, Christina's evil witch of a best friend had Jay (H) first. Like eww left overs, hate it. Best friends Ex and sisters ex is THE WORST Tropes EVERR. 🗑
But otherwise this was a cute story of redemption and finding happiness again after pain and grief.💟🥺💟

We all know how badly J-Bird screwed up. He could not forgive himself and Toby dying just added to his grief. At the cemetery he had a brief glimpse of a woman who seemed to be more troubled than he was.
On the other side is Christina who was orphaned when she was abandoned by her parents, even her husband left her, taking his own life and leaving a letter of confession to all his sins. All she had was her best friend Lindsay and she just had a feeling something was off.

I loved seeing J-bird getting to grips with what Ever tattooed on his arm, when he finally realised is when he grew up.

Once again Christine Michelle hits it out of the park! J-bird goes from unlikable to tearing at your heartstrings and earning your tears. Oh yes, bring on the tissues, you're going to need them. As this family saga continues I am drawn deeper and deeper into the world of the Aces High Charleston Chapter. The characters are human and flawed, so very, very flawed. And that's what endears them to me. They feel real and therefore you are drawn to their stories. J-bird certainly becomes the man he showed promise of being as a young boy even after losing his way in a spectacular fashion. I highly recommend this series...do yourself a favour and read it! Just be warned...tissues are required!

The main characters in the book are not together for a big portion of this book. I think they meet halfway through the book. The have no connection, no chemistry. I'm only continuing to read because I want to get to the last book. It seems interesting enough.

Brilliantly written

Christine Michelle is a one-click author for myself. She did NOT disappoint this reader with this book. She about broke my heart with it but by the end it was mended.
I loved J-Birds story and all the emotions it brought out of myself.
Christina was such a breath of fresh but heartbreaking nevertheless. I couldn't believe what the two she loved most had been done to her.
A waif of a girl, a torn soul, and a haze across a couple of graves and history is about to be made. An easel just doesn't do it justice. Two soulmates that takes a few years to come to fruition. The journey s long waited but dang worth the wait.
I loved how she threw in glimpses of all the Aces High MC Chapters, her S.H.E. Chapter and even the boys of her T.I.E. Series and hopefully soon her Vallhalla spin-off.
She intertwined all of these flawlessly so pay attention.
Cannot wait for the next book or installment from any of these series I'll be fangirling one-clicking happy reader. Keep them coming.
I highly recommend this book and series.

J-Bird was young and dumb when he made a mistake that cost his best friends. Even though time had moved on the guilt and feeling like he could never make up for it still weighs heavily on him. He knows he should lean on his MC, but the unsettled feeling has gotten worse and he makes a decision to hit the road with a nomad. He feels lighter and has befriended Lindsay who is fun but he knows it will never be love between them. What he doesn't expect is Lindsay's friend Christina, just once in his life has he met someone who has intrigued him like Christina.

Christina has been hurt by her husband who died and left a bunch of secrets in his wake. She feels like her whole life was a life up to that point. For the most part everyone she has been close with has left her, except Lindsay. Christina isn't as close with Lindsay as she once was, but when Lindsay shows up with J Bird she realizes he is the man she has been infatuated with after a one chance look over a year ago. Disaster happens and Christina finds that she and J-Bird are thrown together for a whole different reason and J-Bird is determined they are meant to be. Will he be able to convince Christina he is worth the chance?

There is so much that is happening in this book that I didn't want to divulge too much. I thought this was wonderful but wished there was more of Christina with J Bird and while there is it is later in the book. I do think they both needed their own journey as well though. Really well done.

This was good but not my favorite

This was good but not my favorite in the series. I had a hard time with the best friend, Lindsay and her motives with Christina. For whatever reason I felt like there should have been more with her. That is just me. I still think Lucy and CJ aka Double D’s story was the absolute best. All in all it was still a good read.

Disappointed

With this being J-Birds book I thought is would have been better. I actually felt it to be boring. With all his Demons oh well. I just feel like the Author let us down on this. With what she set forward so much could have went down like maybe confrontations or something. But no! Now I'm scare to read the last one.

I have to learn my lesson, I tend to by all then I kick myself all the time because I feel disappointed.

This story was good as far as a growth arc for J-Bird.
I never quite got a good handle on Christina. She is a tragic figure and they find solace in one another eventually, but her arc is much less developed.

Sometimes you are your own worst enemy. A few simple mistakes can ruin people’s lives and it’s hard to recover from once the damage is done. After the mistakes are made it’s hard to recover from the damaged caused and running doesn’t help as you can’t run from yourself and the blame that you feel is yours. This storyline was so well crafted and made you feel for the characters in this particular part of the stories as a whole. The characters each has their own mountains to climb to find themselves and their love together, they are damaged but loveable and you get truly involved with their story.

I readily admit that I went into this book not expecting to like J-Bird nor see him find redemption. Why? I didn't believe he deserved it nor could I imagine a situation that would provide it for him.

If you've been following this series (Charleston chapter of Aces High), you won't need an introduction to J-Bird! He's spent the first three books dealing with consequences of his actions from "The Other Princess" and also, the fallout from what happened to his best friend, Toby. If you're like me, you absolutely don't expect J-Bird to find redemption because: 1) He doesn't deserve it. 2) He might not even realize what a jerk he's been and finally, he doesn't deserve forgiveness.

So imagine my surprise when Christine Michelle finds a way to weave all of the previous hostility and anger towards J-Bird and then allows him to turn it around. The best way to help J-Bird find redemption? Introduce Christina, his love interest, who is damaged and broken throughout the book. She's also seeking her own redemption and forgiveness. As you continue to read the book, it becomes apparent that perhaps it's misplaced.

***Possible Spoilers***

What a rollercoaster ride these books have been when it comes to J-Bird. He's easy to target with hatred and resentment for his treatment of Ever. Yet, his own book gives a perspective that we haven't seen before because I wasn't ready for it. By the end of the book, you're rooting for his redemption. And you're grateful for the person, besides Christina, that helps him find his way towards redemption.

Side notes: You will learn more about PeeWee and Crow! My satisfaction level is off the charts! Thank you, Christine! While this book is somewhat dark, it's not like the previous books. Plus, you'll find a female that will be easy to hate. One more thing: You'll see some old favorites, but not too much.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants all the feels, redemption, and an HEA! You won't regret it.

Another heart puller! I was hooked from the beginning and just waiting to see where I’d be lead! I wanted to bodily injure both the “husband” and “best friend”, hell I wished she would get hit by car ‍♀️ All I can say it was another great addition to the series and I cannot wait (hint hint) for the next book!

When you have been on the Journey that is the Aces High MC- Charleston chapter- you won't escape it without tears and shouts of joy. With The Killing Ride, we witness the closing of a chapter that we were left wondering about after reading the last three books..what Happened to Jay?

With the death of his best friend, and his unborn child, Jay is set loose in an ocean of pain and self blame...he knows he wasn't the cause of the accident, but the fact he never got to mend the break in his friendship with Toby haunts him. We know from reading The Other Princess, that Jay did a stupid thing when he was younger, and this stupid thing was inflamed by grown men who were too blinded by hate and prejudice to see the damage they were causing.

We are introduced to Christina, a gorgeous soul, whilst she is reading her husbands suicide note..and before you get all emotional, after reading said note you soon come to the conclusion that she was better off without him in the long run, this doesn't stop the pain she feels. We meet her flakey Best friend Lindsey, and immediately your skin crawls because such shallowness is rarely seen in a human being.
Fate has a hand in setting up Lindsey and Jay while he is looking for his place in life after the death of Toby. But little does she know, Christina and Jay have seen each other before, while seeking solace in the resting places of those they loved the most.

This is a tragic tale of betrayal by a supposed best friend, an awakening to a lost and wandering soul, its full of heart ache, tears, there is vengeance for a wrong doing, and answers to the questions we all asked. A new beginning, a fresh start, and finding their way to each other leaves Christina and Jay into a better place, and with a brighter future.

Thank you Christine! Another amazingly well written book that tugs at the heart strings, makes us go through a box of tissues and a bottle of wine at the same time!! 5 stars!!!!

OMG....................................
I was pulled into this book right from the beginning, staying there until I had read every single word that was written. I also got my mini movie playing along in my head.
Twists, turns and surprises occur through out this book. Some of the surprises you may see coming, while other you won't. Some of the surprises are large, while others are small. Some may pull on your heart strings, some may even hit you square in the face. But each and every surprise holds equal importance within making this book the awesome read that it is.
Each and every single emotion that the characters can be felt and then some. I went through the emotions with each of characters, but in all honesty I probably got more frustrated than the characters as there was a time or two I wanted to slap a few of the characters, but in the end they redeemed themselves.
I highly recommend Christine Michelle as an author and I highly recommend this book, if you are a fan of MC books and haven't read this book, I personally don't think you will regret it.
I have just found this book on Audible, I will be getting it.
I have just got this book on Audible and I have to admit I enjoyed it just as much as I did when I read it. This book is in my go to file.

I always look forward to new releases from Christine’s male biker series. The way she writes these characters, it just speaks to me in a way that Kristen Ashley’s older books speak to me. Both authors make their characters feel alive and real, and they always get me to laugh and cry multiple times through out their stories.

This book definitely had my emotions all over the place. It was a slow burn, that’s for sure. I liked
how we see J-bird go through many parts of his life in feelings, emotions, and finding clarity and himself. I also appreciated the spin on J-bird’s feelings and actions towards his club. Though, I wasn’t the biggest fan with what the h, Christina, gets involved with at the end... but over all, I truly enjoyed this story. Also, I’m still heartbroken over the loss the club experiences, especially J-bird, from previous books in this clubs chapter. I sure hope we see something happen for Gretchen.

Redemption

I really loved J and Christina's book.

That being said, and with The Other Princess being an all time favorite re-read of mine, I had really wondered whether or not J could earn redemption, in my eyes, for the way he treated Ever in the beginning. It was actually hard for me to even muster up any enthusiasm for his book. But I am so glad that I started reading this one because it only took a few pages and boy was I hooked. I loved J but more than that I was totally in love with Christina. I really wanted to slap her so called friend. And then fell even more in love with J every time he stepped up for Christina. I didn't even want it to end. It was that good.

I highly recommend this entire series but it might be a good idea to have some tissue nearby. Absolutely can't wait to see what this author has in store for the readers next.

Great book

Wow, the books in this series just keep getting better and better. Instant attraction, that look across a crowded room or in a group at an event of at a funeral, your eyes meet and you just know, you can't get that thought out of your head no matter what. Two lost souls see each other and have that but never truly meet, they each can't keep from thinking about the other even years later. This book has so much, loss of a loved one, a stalker, a friend who isn't, plenty of twists and turns, action, romance, add in a motorcycle brethren who is there to support and defend, family and more. Well worth your time to read, but gut wrenching at times, it will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. The book is filled with thoroughly enjoyable characters and an interesting storyline.

I truly believe there is a tie now on which Christine Michelle book is my favorite this one or The Other Princess! I was going to write a whole big synopsis about the book, but then I realized that would give away too much of the story and I believe you really need to read it to get all the feels of how Jason 'J-Bird' and Christina 'Tina' are feeling throughout the story. I will tell you this book had all the right feels and I truly felt the characters emotions coming off the pages. The story dealt with forgiveness in oneself and from others, trust issues, lies, deceit, backstabbing, finding the one, proving you are worthy, sticking it out, and truly coming home again, because family will always be there for you.

Excellent addition

Let me say this series is one of my top 10 MC books. You must read the other three books but if you don't you have to at least read the other princess to truly understand the dynamics in this book. This book is a great companion to the other princess since this is J- birds book; how he finally heals from all that has happened. Christine Michelle has a way to draw you in make you feel like you really know the characters. Aces High is not your typical MC ! Enjoy the read!

Jay and Christina

I have thoroughly enjoyed the other stories so far in this series, but I have to say that this one is by far my favorite. I was so happy to see that Jay finally grew up and understood what his tattoo meant that Ever put on him. I felt sad for everything that Christina endured, but she is one strong lady.. I'm glad they went to Georgia and started a new life for the both of them and Christina is flourishing under the S.H.E. ladies and their MC. I got my wish just like Christina did about Lindsey. Happy reading.

J-Bird…finally

Another great story by this very talented author. Loved Jay aka J-Bird and Christina’s story. Again with the emotions and the tissues - by the time this series is over I will be broke from buying Kleenex!!

Loved the raw emotions from both characters in the book and that Jay finally worked out the meaning of his tattoo from Ever.

Now on to book 5, will my heart break again 😬

Start with the first book in the series

The Other Princess is fantastic but you better read it first to fill understand why Jay is so hard on himself and what the tattoo on his arm says. This story helps to answer some of the questions that remained...such as Toby and Jay friendship and Ever's feelings after the ending.

Absolutely stunning book. What a fantastic series. I cried through most of this, willing it to work out for Jay and Tina. After all they have both been through, they deserved their HEA.

every book just got better and better. I'm off to find some more for me to read.
