Road Warrior's Motorcycle Club #1

Forever My Own: Road Warrior's MC Book One - Fox & Cat

Rate this book
Welcome to the world of the Road Warrior's Motorcycle Club. Based in the Las Vegas Valley, the Road Warrior's MC was formed by five former Vietnam Vets looking for a sense of family, that brotherhood they left behind when they left the military. This is the story of their club, now, three generations later, their children and grandchildren are taking up the torch as the RWMC goes into the future. These are their stories, their lives, their hopes, dreams, challenges, and their HEA's.

Book One: Fox & Cat

FOX:
The minute I met CATRIONA I was lost. Her beauty and innocence called to me like a siren. There was a place inside of me that I didn’t know existed, a place just waiting to be filled with her light, her caring, her heart. But, with one miscommunication, one failed connection, I lost it all, hell I lost more than I even realized.

Until four years later when my entire world came crashing down on me, in the form of a precocious three-year-old pixie named Felicity. I will get my family back, I will earn the trust of the only woman to ever touch my heart.
But, as quickly as I start to see a possible happily ever after for my little family, it is all gone, she is gone. See, I am a member of the Road Warrior’s MC and our enemies have my woman, and they are not known for their care of the fairer sex. Somehow, I must find her, then, find a way to help her, because being lost in that mess is sure to leave her broken.

CAT:
He was my first, my only, but he abandoned me and our child. It has taken me years, but I am better, happy even. But now he’s returning home, and I have to find peace with him. But what about our daughter, will he man up and acknowledge his daughter? After abandoning me in my pregnancy, I don’t know what to expect.

Then, as if my troubled past wasn’t filled with enough heartache, I am dragged into a war not of my making and my life will never be the same again.
How do you survive something like this? Will I ever be able to see my child and Fox again? After what I have become, not likely.

How do you survive something like this? And even then, how do you ever look that precious innocent child in the face after becoming what I’ve become?

I'm not going to rate this purely on the fact I DNFed this book.
Now obviously it was an ARC and in this ARC there was so many editing issues as well as some grammar and then the povs and 1st/2nd/3rd person was all over the place. I'm hoping this has been fixed for the published version. I found it very hard to follow.

I got about 20% before I had to stop. I just couldn't make myself read it.

One of the main things, the girl takes a pregnancy test the day after having sex, like does he have super sperm or something? Like she's meant to be a virgin and next day it shows on a test she's pregnant. No.

Erm yeah this book was just all over the place and I couldn't get into it.

This was an ARC I read I'm hoping the published version is much better!! I won't be reading that though

Forever My Own by Raven Featherwood is Road Warrior's MC Book One (Road Warrior's Motorcycle Club). This is the story of Cat and Fox.
Cat and Fox where young and in love. Fox left for the miltary leaving cat behind and cat latter learned a baby on the way. Cat sent him a letter letting him know about the baby but he never wrote back. Cat's parents ended up not supporting her so she turned the the MC because they where Fox's family and they made her their family. But now just a few years later Fox is back and learns of his daughter and that Cat did try to reach him. But can they move forward? In addition to their love story of course there are club issues to add to the drama.

Potential

This is my first book by Raven Featherwood. The story had so much potential but was over written. The author goes between first and third person, sometimes in the same paragraph. The story bounces around in time and it's confusing, and sometimes you don't know which character is speaking. There is a lot of unnecessary filler and the author does a lot of telling instead of showing. I don't know if this is her first book or not but there is definitely potential, the story itself as gritty and interesting, it just needs some work. I enjoyed the characters and am invested enough that I would read the second book.
I was given an ARC for an honest review.

Needs Some Work

This is my first time reading this author and I usually don’t criticize the writing style but we were switching back and forth with the 1st, 2nd & 3rd person all the time. It could use some editing.

Other than that is was about Cat & Fox who in love and Fox was shipped out to military duty and the next day Cat finds out she’s pregnant. She sends him a letter which he never receives so the only people who will take her in are the Road Warrior’s MC which is his family.

Let’s say that when he returns years later he finds he has a daughter and now they have to find out if they can make it work after all.

Update: After speaking with the author, I learned she is having this book re-edited and an updated version will be available when that is complete. I will be reading the updated version and updating my review once that is available. I fully believe with edits this book has everything to be an amazing read. And a huge round of applause to Raven Featherwood for showing what a stand up person she is with her debut. I’m looking forward to reading her future work.

Where to begin? I’m a HUGE lover of MC romance, I usually devour every single one I get my hands on from the sugary sweet to the gritty and raw. Forever My Own has so much promise to be an amazing book, but it just fell a bit short for me. I could see myself truly loving the characters and when I wasn’t pulled out of the story I truly did enjoy them.
Cat and Fox have quite the emotional and sweet second chance, along with a surprise baby. Those are usually two things I eat up, but this book needs A LOT of love from an editor. While I usually don’t nit pick at editing when I receive an ARC the switches between 1st, 2nd AND 3rd person and the switches between past and present tense were so frequent I was distracted for quite a majority of the book.
That said, when I wasn’t distracted I was genuinely enjoying their story and see a lot of potential for this book to be truly wonderful with some editing.

Omygosh!! Forever My Own, Cat and Fox's love story gutted me! So many emotions that will touch your heart and soul so deeply leaving you an emotional wreck. This story is not for the faint of heart.

Cat is a preacher's daughter who fell in love with a badazz biker of the Road Warriors MC, Fox. A forbidden love according to her father.

After Fox left for the military, Cat tried to contact him to make him aware she was carrying his child. No response.

Four years Cat and Fox were reunited. Their journey began trying to rekindle the love they once had including Lissey.

Cat was a strong, single mom. The things she had to endure will rip your heart out.

Fox may be a badazz biker and very possessive but the patience and love he showed Cat will melt your heart.

Rival MCs are trying to start war with the Road Warriors MC. Kidnapping. Torture. Sexual abuse. Who will come out alive? And who will be carrying the scars of the aftermath?

This is a fabulous introduction to a new series I highly recommend!!

For this author’s debut book it is good. I had a problem with the switching between 1st, 2nd and 3rd person POV, but that being said it was still an enjoyable read. Cat is heartbroken when she finds out that she is pregnant and Fox is leaving for his enlistment. Her parents don’t give her any support so she basically scared and on her own because her letters of how she is pregnant don’t reach Fox. When his four years are up on his enlistment and having not heard from Cat, Fox joins an MC. When they bump into each other later and Cat has their daughter in tow Fox, needless to say, is flabbergasted. There are a lot of twists and turns as well as heartbreak in this story. Can Fox and Cat’s love story have a HEA with all of the miscommunication from the past?

Poorly written. The H, Fox, is a cheater. He was sleeping with sweet butts while dating the h, Cat, for two years. Because of a miscommunication (he didn’t get her letter and he heard she moved to Reno) he again starts sleeping with numerous women. Yes, scenes with OW are described. Not my cuppa tea.

Everyone knows that I love MC books. The more I read, the more I still want. It’s insane what a genre can make me do and feel.
When I saw the chance to read a new MC book I was all in but then I was a bit insecure. Wanna know why?
Because not only was this the beginning of a new series but also the first book from a new author. It’s a double risk but I love to take chances.
Raven Featherwood is a new author to me and let’s just say that I was curious and nervous at the same time. I know that putting all this together can e a scary thing but life is made of taking risks.
I can say that I am a fan. It was amazing to be able to know her and her writing.
Forever My Own is the new book I’m talking about and it’s the first book from the Road Warrior’s Motorcycle Club.
This new book explores the lives of Fox and Cat.
These two were made for each other until one day it wasn’t.
Fox lost his happily ever after the day Cat walked away. And Cat thought that Fox had abandoned her and their daughter but sometimes…
Let me just say… HOT DAYUM. I wasn’t expecting that… I’m still shaking.
Fantastic plot, amazing characters full of all the stuff that makes a great story an amazing one.
This book gives us drama, violence, loss, deceive as well as love, family bonds, acceptance, and hot stuff.
Yeah, boys and girls… Hot stuff alert… Dayum, each scene is well described… Just get ready…
There were parts of the book that I wanted to slap someone, made them see the light. How can someone be so mean? But there were others that almost put me into tears, screaming my head off and cursing a lot.
We have a cute alert… This kid is amazing with a sassy attitude. Just like it should be. Lol
It was perfect, it gave me the chills but it also gave me hot flashes… Jesus…
And just thinking that this was her first book… I can even imagine what’s next…
Raven, oh Raven… You nailed it, girl. This book is freaking awesome and I can’t wait for what’s about to come…

Fox left for the Army and left behind Cat, the love of his life (ish). His mission two fold, use the time away for his own personal growth but also to give Cat time as well. But things did not go the way Fox had planned and four years later finally returns home to Vegas. Only his homecoming doesn't go as planned when he learns that there is a three year old little girl that he had a hand in making. Now Fox is determined to get a second chance with Cat and be the family they were destined to be. Will he be able to convince Cat to give him that chance or is it too late?

This was the author's debut novel and this first book wasn't too bad. There are some serious editing issues, the formatting was all wrong and distracting. There was loads of details, tons of unneeded info, just made things seem long winded. I really didn't care for Fox, love of his life but the first two years he used club girls? Add in that the whole separation was his fault and he blamed Cat. I will say I loved the plot, the story of Vets starting the MC and now we are getting their grandchildren's stories. I give this 3 stars.

Fox is the son of the current President and grandson of the previous President -- see where this is heading? Right now he is doing his duty in the club after returning from the military. He left his home and his girl and future--he thought. But she never wrote. Never sent a message. So he tried to move ahead. When he realized she was there at home he didn't know if he could.

Cat had a surprise. He'd left her with it/her. Fox didn't know. She didn't know why he didn't contact her. She'd gone through a lot while he was gone but his folks supported her and she had a job in the MC bar where she was protected by the club.

The story of their love and return to each other is sometimes sweet sometimes angry and well, there are some spoilers I'll avoid. This looks like a good new series I'll want to read. The characters are biker guys and their women, however, they respect their women and don't abuse them like some other MC clubs in the story. They do get justice when necessary and I wouldn't want to be at the end of their actions.

A good story, however, I'm not a fan of mixing first, second, and third persons writing.

Wow, this book had some hard hitting subjects. But you cheered them both on hoping for the best. This book had me from first page. This story is about second chances.

I loved Fox and Cat together, they may of been apart for a long time due to miscommunication. But they find there way back to each other. They go through hell and back but they get through it with their friends, family and their daughter.

Fox and Cat are perfect for one another until it all falls apart. Misunderstandings take them away from each other. This book is very raw. It’s hard to take such meanness but there are other parts that will bring you to tears. Awesome writing with a very explosive storyline.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, twists & turns, pain, steam, suspense, and heartbreak.

This is Cat and Fox’s story. Cat thought Fox loved her but after a misunderstanding she was gone. Now years later he knows he will do anything to get her back. But what happens when danger comes and takes her away? Will he be able to get her back and if he does will, she even want him? The people that have her are not good people and he just knows she will be broken when he can get her back. But he is willing to fight for her until he can’t any longer. Cat knew in her heart one day Fox would come for her, so she has been trying to build walls around her heart. But has it worked? Just when she thought things were going okay she is taken. Now she is not the same. If she is ever found will she be able to go back to her daughter or even Fox? Or are they better off without her. She is broken and used can she even return?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Forever My Own is the first book of the Road Warriors MC series by author Raven Featherwood and the first book I've read by this author.

The story itself is good; the two main characters are a forbidden romance with her, a church girl and him, the consummate bad boy. They fall in love young and vow to love each other through his time in the Army but mere months after his deployment, she finds out their time together resulted in a baby. Scared but overjoyed, she writes to Fox with the good news but doesn't hear from him for four long years. Believing he wants nothing to do with Lissey, their daughter, Cat does her best to raise her daughter with the help of the MC who have become her friends and family. Then the prodigal son returns, shocked to find himself a father and shakes things up.

I wanted to like this book, it's got all the elements I love; MC full of veterans, second chance romance, etc. While the story is a good one, sadly, I just didn't connect with the characters at all. The author facilitates between second and third person POV while at the same time telling the story from both Cat and Fox's perspectives. While this does allow us to learn more about their internal feelings, it created a disconnect for me and sometimes made it difficult to understand who was speaking. I, also, found Fox's character difficult to like. Upon returning home, he works his way through the available women before encountering Cat again. In the space of one evening, Cat witnesses him with a club girl, he learns of their daughter and yet, they still somehow find themselves in bed together. It just didn't feel plausible to me.

The series has potential with some really interesting side characters but this first story just wasn't for me.

Forever My Own is the first book in the Road Warriors MC series by Raven Featherwood. This is also my first book by Raven but will not be my last. This book brought a lot to the table and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the series brings. The book does take you on a emotional roller coaster as well. I found my self rolling through all of the emotions. I was happy sad, mad, even shed a tear or two. This book is filled with really bad words, super hot sex, violence, rape, and a tender love story. If this is not for you skip now, but if you can handle all of that Oh wow is this an awesome book that you will not want to put down.

This book features the story of Fox and Cat. Fox is the rough and tough son of the current President of the Road Warriors MC. Cat is the daughter of a preacher. Kind of sounds like my life, I'm the preachers daughter and my husband all though not the son of the Prez is a biker. Fox and Cat meet when they are teenagers in High School. After graduation Fox heads off to the Army leaving Cat behind to wait on him. When a letter is missed by Fox and a phone call is missed by Cat, both think the other has bailed on them.

Now 4 years later Fox is headed home after being discharged from the Army. Cat has a 3 year old she is raising with the help of Fox's family, oh and by the way Fox has no idea, since he didn't get that letter.

Both Fox and Cat still love each other. if they can get past the hurt from circumstances and fate they can have it all together. Then one day Cat is taken hostage during a biker war that the RWMC didn't even know they were part of. By the time they are able to get Cat back she has been through some of the worst treatment any woman could ever imagine as the hands of her kidnappers. Now Fox has to do his best to help put herself back together in order to get their lives back on track.

I really liked Forever My Own a lot, and it drew me in enough that I couldn't put it down, however, I did have a difficult time in places with the switches between 1rst, 2nd, and 3rd person, as I would get confused. And now that I got that out of the way, I'll get on with the rest. In this first book of the Road Warriors MC tells the story of Fox & Cat. Fox is the Prez's son, and he met Cat, a good church going girl, in High School, and they thought nothing could break them up. When he went into the military, things got messed up somehow, & he thought that she moved on which broke his heart, so he ended up doing some really stupid things which didn't endure me to him. She was pregnant, got kicked out of her house, and thought he wanted nothing to do their baby. After 4 years, he comes home, but sleeps with everything while making his way slowly to the MC, and this is where I have issues with him. Hell, the night he comes face to face with her, he's trying to sleep with another girl, and Cat never even dated while he was gone because she still thought they would work things out. when he got home. Another problem I had was, Cat didn't make him work harder for it when he learned the truth, hell, she watched him with another woman, and still let him touch her. It took almost the whole book for me to be okay with him. After they've gotten their family back on track, BAM! A big twist comes along to make me drop f-bombs, and boy it was bad, like I'm warning you bad, which had my eyes leaking. Finally, there were some great secondaries that I hope get their own stories with this series! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Forever My Own was a good 4 star read.
This was a great start to a new series.

This is Fox and Cats story.
Fox decided to join the military. After Fox left Cat found out that she was expecting a baby.
Cat attempted to get in touch with Fox but never heard back from him, so she moves on with her life. She does the best that she can considering her parents wouldn’t help her, she ends up getting help from the MC. We jump ahead four years, Fox returns.

Fox is shocked to see that he has a daughter. Fox does learn the truth, that Cat did indeed try to get in touch with him. They try to rekindle what they had and raise their daughter Lissey. There are some twists and Cat ends up in the hands of a very dangerous MC.

Will Fox be able to save Cat? Can they get a HEA?

My emotions were all over the place with this read. The things that Cat endured shattered my heart. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. This is my first read from this author and her debut. Overall I think she did a great job and I look forward to reading more from this series and the author. 1-click and get started today.

Fox and Cat are perfect for one another until it all falls apart. Misunderstandings take them away from each other. This book is very raw. It’s hard to take such meanness but there are other parts that will bring you to tears. Awesome writing with a very explosive storyline.

Fox and Cat wow, what can I say I loved this story but be warned there is some scenes that may trigger. Once they were the perfect couple then Fox went away and misunderstandings destroyed what they had. Now Fox is back but their past may be more than either can get past. I loved these characters so much. This is the start of this series and I am so happy to read what comes next.

What an Great start to an MC Series. As I read along I could see this series getting larger and larger as I met the amazing personalities that make up the Road Warrior’s MC and their family connections. The book has an exciting storyline with alpha male and female characters that came to life as I read along. I am super stoked to see where this series goes.

This story is about Fox and Catriona. Fox knew she was the one the day he met her and Cat couldn’t resist the bad boy biker. But when Fox left for the Army, giving Catriona time to grow up and attend college, a lot of miscommunication occurs. Both Fox and Catriona are devastated thinking the other has moved on and left them behind. Especially Catriona who is a home raising a precocious little girl, that she thinks Fox doesn’t want. But what happens when Fox returns and finds out he has a daughter and Cat is working at one of their MC Bars as a bartender? From here the story takes off with tender moments as well as heartbreaking time.

I truly loved this start to the series and I highly recommend any biker fan grab this one up and don’t get left behind on this series. My only suggestion to the author for future books in the series is to not switch from 1st to 2nd to 3rd person as often. This by NO MEANS took away from the enjoyment of the book for me, this is just a personal suggestion for the ease of reading. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars.

I am really trying to figure out exactly how to do this review. I understand that when receiving an ARC there are bound to be a few mistakes. I have no problem with mistakes, what had my head spinning was how you will be reading in 1st person, then change to 2nd, and then to 3rd then back again. I had to go back and re-read some passages because of this. Let me start off by saying this book has so much potential. I love a good MC especially one that has what this one has.

Fox and Cat meet each other while still in high school. Fox wanting to keep the good girl away from the club life until he feels like she will be able to handle it. Where Fox was raised in the lifestyle Cat in the other hand was raised by a strict family. There is a huge misunderstanding and a beautiful surprise thrown into the mix. When Fox gets home there is a lot that needs to be worked on between the two of them. I love how he steps up and proved to Cat that their little family is the only thing that matters.
I enjoy it when the MC is like a family and they rally around each other. This club does exactly that. They rally around when one of their own needs them.
I know it may sound like I did not like the book, but if you can get passed all the editing mistakes there is a really good story mixed in.

What a way to start a series. Man, it started off with a bang. It is gritty and raw and may have some triggers for people, so proceed with caution.

Cat and Fox were teen sweethearts. Fox was everything she wanted. She kept it hidden from her parents because she knew that they wouldn't approve. Fox has decided to go into the military for a bit and leaves her behind. Cat finds out she is pregnant. When her parents found out they were livid and tried to take matters into their own hands. Cat tried to reach out to Fox but to no avail.

She moves on and so does Fox, but they still long for each other. When Fox gets home after four years the bond is still there and thriving. Cat feels it too. Fox is flabbergasted to learn he has a child that everyone kept from him. Loved that Lissey.

Now, trying to move forward they both want each other, but Cat doesn't know where she stands. Drama ensues with a rival club and the aftermath of it, for Cat shattered me. Such raw emotions ran through me.

Loved the supporting people. Ranger was great and so was Grandma Josie. Lissey will make you fall for the spunky three-year-old.

Read an find out what happens and see if Fox and Cat can have the life they want.

I look forward to the next installment in this series.

I really liked this story, but found it dragged a little bit. When it got going, man the road was rough, exciting and painful one. I did like reading about how the MC started, but for me, it was a little too much filler. I kept waiting for the story to pick up its speed and wondered if it ever would. And then it did and the story took off like a rocket! The excitement was there, the intrigue, the action but also the pain and torment of not only the lead characters, Fox and Cat, but for the rest of the MC family.

I loved the characters. All of them. I loved the interaction between the MC, although their banter could have been done a bit better, in my opinion. I sometimes felt that there was an immaturity (well there usually is when it comes to men..lol) in the men of the MC and the way they spoke at times; kind of making them seem a little less tough than they should have been, being that they are an MC. But overall, I loved the guys and their loyalty and support of each other and their family. That part really showed through in the words and actions.

I do recommend this book as I think the story and characters were wonderful and carried this book through to the end. I do look forward to see what happens next in this MC.
