17 Marigold Lane is the first book in the Prudence Penderhaus series by R.M Gilmore. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Gilmore, so I was intrigued to see what I would discover once I opened the cover. This is a bit of an emotional young adult story with lots of mystery, humour, secrets, lies, courage, learning to live in the face of death, the dreaded “C” word, and so much more.

Yeah, this was a binge worthy read! I couldn't and frankly didn't want to put it down. I loved this book, only by the second chapter was I laughing and crying. It brought out my emotions and I couldn't contain my laughter or the tears. My BF thinks I'm insane when he walks in and I'm crying while reading lol. That to me is pure talent, to actually feel for these characters as if they were real and next to me. I'm a hard @zz anyway and I don't have normal emotions. So yea...was really awesome!

17 Marigold Lane (Prudence Penderhaus Book 1) by R.M. Gilmore is a YA coming of age
story. Once you start, you won’t be able to stop reading. It is well written with well
developed characters. It is a story where the plot is dark and the subject is intriguing
and enthralling, and emotions run high. This somber story is as mysterious as it is at
times funny but it is also a little sad and will make your heart break it is also interesting
and different that you need to know what is going to happen.

17 Marigold Lane Review
Prudence Penderhaus was an average high school nobody that has flown under the radar all her life. She never would have guessed the day she found out she was dying would be the first day she really started to live.

I don't usually do young adult novels, but this one was amazing! I could not stop reading and stayed awake into the wee hours of the morning until I finished it.
Just in the first couple of pages, you come to know Prudence Penderhaus and her struggles. She's a teenage outcast, picked on by everyone at school. And she's just recently discovered that she's dying. She's never taken chances, and with the knowledge that she may not live long, decides that's exactly what she will do. Take chances. Lot ...more

I had the privilege of getting a early look at this one. I am continuously amazed by Gilmore's ability to weave an intriguing tale with characters that defy the norms. This one is no different.
Prudence Penderhaus isn't the typical type of teenager even before she learns she's sick. She tries to stick to the shadows hoping not to stand out which is a difficult feat considering everything from her height to her hair makes her stick out like a sore thumb. But all the things that make her different ...more

This book is filled with mystery, secrets, lies, murder, and oddness (we can't forget about the weirdos). I received this book to give an honest review.
I didn't know what to really expect with this book you have Prudence who is dying decides to do one thing that sets everything into motion.
On her street there is a house that everyone calls the spook house you all know people have stories about houses and what are in them. Well Prudence decides to knock on the door one day and when it opens it takes her by surprise it seems there is a young man living there who we learn is named Cassius. There is mo ...more

Couldn't put it down, loved this story.
First, many thanks go to the author, R.M. Gilmore, who provided a free copy of 17 Marigold Lane in exchange for an honest review. I’ve now got a new series that I’m addicted to, thank you ever so much.

OMG! The feels on this one! Killing me....
I really LOVED this book, it is incredibly good and I didn't wanted it to end.
Well written, awesome characters, a plot that you wouldn't believe with mystery and all. There is sort of a love story in there as well, a special one. I have to say that I loved Cass like a mother would his son, he is too old to be mine but I still loved him that way. The story touched me because I know all about autism, I have a nephew with autism but not the kind that Cass ...more

This book starts with a seventeen-year-old girl coming to terms with the fact she's dying. Now going on from that, you would expect this book to full of doom and gloom. Instead, it is funny and heartbreaking at the same time. Prudence makes a decision to do something that she has never dared to before, based on the fact of 'what does it matter now anyway?' What follows on is a mystery story that will keep you intrigued and engrossed as you turn the pages. The slowly developing relationship betwe

This book was different than anything I had read really and was very interesting to say the least. We have come to Marigold Lane and what we find there is not what you would expect. The need to find out what lurks inside the spooky house that is a few doors down from her own Prudence finds herself knocking on the door. When the door opens she finds something different than she expected but this starts a series of events that bring us to uncovering the mystery behind the strange family that lives

This was a little different than anything else I've read from this author. I do enjoy YA books from time to time and this is one I'd for sure recomend. It all takes place over such a short amount of time that it felt extra face paced and l wasnt really wanting to put it down. I think the characters were extremely relatable, especially if you've ever felt like the outcast. And I can honestly say if you have any remote experience with being around someone with ASD, you should pick up on it pretty

What an awesome read! Two hearts, one facing death, the other hidden away from the world for most of his life, meet in a moment of courage. Crazy twists and turns keep you engaged as Pru and Cass embark on a journey where both meet love. There is something fishy going on with the Sheriff's department, one in particular, and I am anxious to find out what secrets he is hiding in the next book. You will definitely be on the edge of your seat with this one. Great job by the author! Well written!

The start of the book was interesting. I had to idea as to where the author was taking me. I started curious and slowly enjoyed getting into the story. Then I was surprised by the events that came up next. I was very much into it and was getting to know the characters better. Then I was surprised again. It's already the end. And I was like, seriously?! I want more. I couldn't believe I am done with the book already. I need to know what happens next. That said, I'd definitely read the next one.

Fun & engaging YA read! I enjoyed Pru and Cass’ story! Really liked how the author brought their quirky characteristics out without making them seem like stereotypes or a freak show.
