I’ve not rated this book because I didn’t finish it and didn’t feel it was fair to give it a star rating if I’ve not come to the end.
The reason I didn’t finish it is because there was not enough of a story to hold my interest and I felt the voice of the boy was a lot older than his actual age. I reached about chapter 15 I think.
It was sweet but too much descriptive text. It would’ve been nice to have seen the characters in action rather than hear Jays thoughts about his own family and friends. Also the chain of action things didn’t really work. Flushing the toothbrush wasn’t what stopped him from writing the report so didn’t really get that.
I’m also not a big fan of being addressed directly as the reader.
