An excellent continuation of the series. I'm really enjoying the storyline & progression of development/growth within the characters.

I love having the volume's put together like this, much cheaper that way too! It also made it very easy to see what a difference there was from start to finish. At the start of this volume, I was not happy with Del and very worried for her sanity... and then it changes and its Tiger's sanity in question. Then by the end of the volume we see how far they've come and how much stronger they are now as a team. They've settled their scores and are in it for the long haul now and I can't wait to read ...more

Tiger has accompanied Del through out the Southren desert, now he must decide if he wants to follow her into the unfamiliar north. More adventures from the unlikely pair of Tiger and Del, and more challenges. Del must face her ugly past and Tiger must decide whether he wants to be a part of that or not. This installment tests both of these characters, pushing them to their limits and asking the impossible of them. Another good read for fantasy fans.

I loved the author's other work, Karavans, but I just couldn't love this one as well.

Eventually, I figured out why. It took the characters an entire page to say good morning.
And that's all it was; the pace. It was abysmally slow. At least with Lord of the Rings, all I had to do was skip the first couple chapters and poof, I loved it. But this book stayed slow.

But I wanted to like it. I really did.
