Clifford, the Big Red Dog, is too big to join in the games and races of the town's centennial celebration, but when the bridge breaks along the parade route, Clifford carries the paraders across the river and saves the day. Original.
Norman Bridwell was an American author and cartoonist, best-known for the Clifford the Big Red Dog series of children's books. Bridwell attended John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, Indiana. He lived on Martha's Vineyard, MA, where he wrote an average of two books a year.
Clifford and the Big Parade by Norman Bridwell is a fun book for kids that's easy to read. Clifford and Emily Elizabeth go to a parade. They try to be in the parade but it's hard because Clifford is so big and he can't play horseshoes or volleyball or be in the other contests. But in the end, they have fun anyway and Clifford saves the day when he holds up the bridge that fell down. Clifford is the hero. I think kids will like this book.
I own a copy of Clifford & the Big Parade and I always enjoyed reading it with my Clifford puppet. In this story Clifford joins in a celebration of the two being 100 years old and he is made Grand Marshal of the parade. He has a few adventures and then gets rid of the bees bothering a float and hold up a bridge the collapsed and saved the day. Preschool children love the big red dog, Clifford in my experience over the years.

Clifford is set to lead a big parade for the town’s birthday celebration. Unfortunately there is trouble that can only be solved by a giant dog, and he misses his chance at being pride leader. Whoever, Clifford is still a big part of the parade in another way, and helps us learn to look for the bright side in situations beyond our control.
Clifford is a big red dog, and his owner is Emily Elizabeth. In this book, Clifford helps with the parade, sometimes playing games and sometimes being an obstacle. This book was boring, but for young children I think it would fun and would get their imagination going.
Clifford and the Big Parade is a journey through different events at a town’s 100th birthday party. Clifford and Emily Elizabeth try to participate in different events that are taking place around the town. Clifford has problems being able to participate in different events such as, volleyball, the bicycle obstacle, and horseshoes because of his size. Clifford doesn’t give up; instead he finds another way to participate in the event. This is a great book to read to a class when talking about different alternatives to a problem.
This is one of the original Clifford books; so the illustrations are a little off from what modern children are familiar with from the PBS cartoon. It doesn't have Emily Elizabeth's friends or Cliffords four legged friends. But Emily Elizabeth and Clifford are the main characters. In this one they want to go see the parade and along the way things go wrong but with Clifford he lends a helping paw and saves the parade.
Clifford saves the day again! Hes to big to participate in most of the parade activities. But when a bridge collapses and the parade may not be able to go on clifford hold it up himself.
Clifford's town is turning 100 years old and they are having a parade! Clifford is very excited about it and can't wait to participate in the parade with Emily Elizabeth.
