Is modesty all about the clothes we wear?
What if I told you that modesty is about more than clothes and that there is a way to find freedom by embracing it? We usually don’t associate modesty with freedom because of the ways our culture tries to sell it to us. With ideas such as “modesty is out of date” or “I should be able to wear whatever I want”, they try to convince us ...more

For those of you who are wondering what this book is and or who it's by? Well this book was written by my good friend Bethel and it's on the subject that Lord has brought upon her heart over the years and has given her a passion for. This book is on the subject of modesty. And not your typical modesty that the world implies, but biblical modesty and what that may look like. What most people don't realize about biblical modesty is that it's more than the way you dress, in so many ways it's the wa

This book is written really well. I do love the way she explains what modesty is. What it stands for. And how to achieve it.
Bethel Grove says in one passage, “A humble heart is one that is so concerned with the needs of others and honoring the Lord, it don’t think that much about itself. Not to say that humble people neglect their basic needs, but they choose to put the energy that would have spent dwelling on themselves and their problems and focus on the needs of others instead. Note: I received an early copy from the author.
I really enjoyed this book; I liked that the author made sure to specify and differentiate between how culture understands modesty as a set of rules and modesty as an attitude and a way of life. I also really enjoyed that she touched on male modesty; this is something we as a culture and we as families need to teach our young men, that modesty affects them too and isn’t just about how girls dress’ affect them, but also about how they clothing choic ...more

Humility, gratitude, grace, and faithfulness are just a few of the ways Bethel Groves takes modesty “Beyond Your Wardrobe.” I love that she dives right in by going to the heart of the issue, but she isn’t afraid to answer the questions we all know every girl has, and still brings it back to what’s in our hearts in the end. Reading Bethel’s book is like talking to a big sister. She isn’t afraid to share her opinion, but you know she is pointing you in the right direction.

I have 3 children- 21 and 19 year old young women, and a 13 year old boy. This book has helped me in giving them pointers on how to dress. Like someone else mentioned, it helps when they hear advice from other people outside the family. I was happy to see the part directed to men. Modesty will always be a thing, even when it doesn’t seem to always be on the forefront. Modesty can also make someone more beautiful than showing more skin. The links to the videos and articles are very helpful. This
