This is a pretty good X-adventure; it's a refreshingly stand-alone story, so you can just read it and not worry about not catching something. The character voices struck me as well captured, particularly Gambit, and Juggernaut is well portrayed. Smith's style is clear and direct. Fun book...'nuff said.

I've never read a superhero novel before but I picked this up a couple years ago because I am a huge X-Men fan. I finally read it and it was about what I expected. Nothing too deep, lots of fights, and low-stakes.

I will say that as a Gambit fan, I was happy to see he got his own side-adventure and that it even involved the Thieves Guild. I also appreciate how it did tie into the comics some.

All-in-all, it was a fun read. I might try to pick up another if I get a good recommendation, but I'm not clambering to find others.

This was fun. It was simple and easy to follow. I knew it wouldn't be anything incredible but that's okay. I feel like if you're seeking the best storylines of these characters, you'll have to go to the comics.
Lots of Gambit and Juggernaut which was nice. There was some little tidbits that are true to the comics and animated TV show which was really fun. Some of these are small enough that only avid fans will catch.
This is not part of a series which is also nice.

A fun and easy read. it's nothing dense, and it paces well. One of my favorite characters is Gambit, so I was glad to see that he had a pretty decent role in this book.

I've always loved Juggernaut, so the chance to see him as the troubled soul (we later learned he is in the comics) was wonderful.[return]The author's style was a bit typical with nothing at all remarkable about it, but it was steady and enjoyable.

This book has what I look for in a X-Men book; lots of Gambit.

I've read this book two or three times, and the scenes with Gambit even more. Heck, even just adding the book I flicked to my favorite scene in the book and reread that. :)

Nothing special but you got all the basic ingredient a superhero novel should have.
The author was very good with Gambit character but for the rest is the cheesy normal stuff you got in all the superhero novel.

It was good to see more of Juggernaut than 'nothing can't stop...'
