This was a guest review I did for Yummy Men and Kick Ass Chicks....

My Review:

This book has a fabulous premise. There are nine cousins who are the grandchildren of the original Gods of Olympus. These demi-gods have been forbidden from using their powers to aid humans...a thing that goes against their very nature. As a result, they have banded together to try to use their powers in the human realm, helping humans wherever they can, but they are doing it on the sly, trying to keep it hidden from

This book started out so strong and interesting, and then suddenly it was insta-love, baby this, sweetheart that, a wealth of world-building wasted, everything rushed except the smut, which seemed to go on forever and was far too cheezy porn/purple prose for me.

I wish the book had focused on the story elements, on the murder mystery and the demi-gods defying everyone, and built a slow-burn romance throughout. Instead it feels like it was all built up then wham, bam, rushed through and all the

Immortals and Prometheans

A paranormal story with murders and sexy romance. Based on Greek mythology, gods and demigods are at play here. The grandson of Cupid, Titus Love has opened up a tattoo shop where he can mesh magic with ink in tattoos. It's specially designed to lead a person to his true love! But things go awry, when the men with special tattoos and up murdered. The investigating officer, Derek has his special powers, and he can sense the divinity at play. But they are being hunted by a

I love mythology and romance. So this book combines both, I am in love already. The author creates this universe with a tale we know but with a twist on the truth of who chained Prometheus. Titus is trying to live and help the humans find love. He is of a new generation trying to fit in society and not live in fear of the human hunters who want their power. However, there is an unforeseen enemy that is attacking which draws Derek to Titus, there is an instant connection between them. Derek is a ...more

3.5 Stars.. This story has oracle's and demi gods and all sorts of powers flying around. The story has the murder identified in the first chapter but its a leader into more dramatic plot. An enjoyable story to read, but you must read with an open mind. I loved the zing between Derek and Titus when they met and as they worked to solve the murder.
Detective Derek is investigating a suicide but Derek's e.s.p. feelings are saying murder. The victims are all involved around the Ink Shop. Derek doesn't

Mythology and murder

Quick read, mixing the stories of the Greek gods into a police investigation into a death. A demigod tattoo artist meets his fated love while participating with his cousins in modifying the old order. Nicely plotted with ample details, there's almost enough heat. A clever and entertaining read.

As I am a gatherer of books, I collect books and ebooks from a variety of sources: Goodreads wins, Bookhub, BookFunnel, emails from authors and publishers, and others. I do lose track

I need more!!!

This is so freaking good. Gods, demigods, tattoos, power, love, and suspense. You can tell the author did his research. I love how he kept to the base facts while creating his own direction and having a solid explanation for the difference. I can't wait to see where this goes next.

As a reader of many many romance and erotic romance and erotica books I have, until now, only read male/male interactions in the form of MMF menage (ok occaisionally more M's than 2 but still there's always been 1 F in the group). So I didn't know if straight M/M (pun intended) was gonna do it for me but I thought since I enjoyed Kris Cook's other books that Cupid's Arrow would be my first. What I discovered was as much as F/F does not work for me Cupid's Arrow with it's two sexy Alpha heros ...more

I'm going to be generous with the 3 stars. The premise of this story was intriguing, but the execution failed. The stilted writing told me versus showed me, and OMG if I had to read the words "sexy beast" and "dear immortal" one more time, I was sure to claw my eyes out. It was like reading about two lovesick puppies with the back and forth compliments.

This is obviously a series in the making, with the other gay demigods finding their true love and gaining power from their relationships, all in

Cupid's Arrow is the first book in a new series by Kris Cook. If you are a fan of Male/Male, then you must get this book.

Derek and Titus are wonderful main characters who grab at your heart and pull you in on the first few pages. Many other familiar names from mythology will be found in this book as well and I can't wait for the second installment with Cole and Michael.

Congrats to Kris on writing another amazing book. Keep writing my friend and I will keep reading.

For all its worth, I actually like this book. Its best quality was the great writing. It was so amusing to read. The plot could use some refinement, but it was still enjoyable!! The characters are lovable -(view spoiler) XD

It felt like the story was over too quickly, but I guess you get and what you get. *shrug*
Still a fun read nonetheless.

Mythical and intense

I loved the way the author mixed mythology and reality. The Gods and Demigods were both more relatable. The storyline was intriguing and thought provoking. I kept trying to figure out where it was going and what would happen only to be unable to. Great read! I can't wait to see what comes next!

I've read other books by this author that a pretty good. This one is not.

The plot moves forward in jumps and starts where things suddenly happen, characters suddenly change, and problems are suddenly resolved, all without proper explanation. The story is somehow both too fast and too slow. It makes the story unbelievable, the characters seem inconsistent, and the ending anticlimactic.

Fun read

This was an interesting twist on the myths and legends of Olympus. Titus and Derek are great, the chemistry smoking. The plot is moderately paced and action packed.

What an intense and fun book! Cupid's Arrow is a fresh spin on the stories of ancient Greek. A great start to the Love Ink series.

Though starting in straight erotic romance, Kris's total focus now is on gay romance. When asked why recently, his answer was "My muse finally came out of the closet. Isn't it about time? I've been out since I was twenty-five."

A voracious reader, Kris loves many genres of fiction, but this writer's favorite books are romances that are edgy, sexy, with rich characters and unique challenges. Kris'
