Surprisingly sweet...
I was honestly surprised that a book of beast short stories was not only hot as heck but so freaking sweet. And this was based on Halloween to boot.
My favorite stories were the one with the single werewolf, the dickish werewolves one, and the cat boy.

For a good time read
This wasn't great but it also wasn't that bad. Or at least, not as bad as I was expecting. Here's a quick rundown of the stories:
Story 1 - an emo kid and a cat boy take on a witch. I think. I don't really know what happened. It couldn't keep my attention so I DNFed it.
Story 2 - a witch who doesn't want to do magic has a crush on a witch who's rich, and has three literal monsters chilling in his basement. It's monster porn, that's it. But it was kind of hot so I was into it.
Story 3 - two best friends. One is a werewolf and gay, the other is human and gay for the friend. It took a while to get going. The story telling was a little rough but I finished it. Can't say I really cared though.
Story 4 - older brother gets tricked into becoming a vampire's trall in order to save his little sister. I liked the premise, I like vampires, it was hot and I wasn't mad. The ending did try to turn it into a romance even though it wasn't one. I would have been more okay if it didn't try.
Story 5 - dude's car breaks down and he's taken by werewolves. That's it. But again, I was kind of into it. This is the only short story I can honestly say that if it was turned into a full novel I would read it. I actually liked this one a lot.
Overall, is this worth your time? I don't know. Do you like monsters and are you capable of suspending your disbelief for time? If yes, you might have fun with this one. The quality varies from story to story and it could use a good round of editing but you could tell this was just for fun. Sadie Sin's is an author who doesn't take herself too seriously and I kind of like that. These stories are a little ridiculous but that's kind of the point. Three stars because I'm not mad I read this but I could have done without all outdated slurs. Seriously, 2016 wasn't that long ago and I don't think those words were ever okay.

January 22, 2024A couple of these stories were fun, others didn't work as well for me. Many of them had a buildup that felt tedious to get through and the MCs started to feel generic and interchangeable after a couple of stories. Maybe I shouldn't have higher expectations for an erotica collection, but it just got too cookie-cutter. Too many "straight" MCs for my personal taste, and I felt a bit of whiplash from the f-slur out of nowhere at the end of the best friends to lovers story.

Whenever I am in the mood of a super smutty short book, I look into SS's lists of books.
This one had a couple of stories that I would loved to read in a longer edition. The thing in common all these stories have: a blondie who just discovers his love for dicks, so all of them feature virgins (or butt-virgins) cuties.
1) The Familiar (3/5): the less smutty of all of them. A boy and cat. The only thing that made go "yuck" was .
2) A Monster Bash (3/5): an awkward cutie who attends a party, hosted by a hottie. The cutie has a "monster"-fetish: he gets horny looking at them, even gargoyles. The hottie has the hots for the cutie, but -and this is where I am MEH-
3) Crimson Moon (5/5): one of the best because the cutie and the hottie are bff. Cutie is unaware of hottie's feelings; they hang out in hottie's house to celebrate alone Halloween's night. Turns out,
4) The Devil's House (5/5): another of the best ones because I love how the vampire has been pinning so many years for the cutie, and how the cutie resisted to go to this house. So there are feelings and a beginning of feeling in this one.
5) Going Wild (2/5): hot of course, a cutie getting stranded in the middle of nowhere, where there are wolves who want to claim him. Escaping, he meets a handsome guy, who turns out to be a werewolf. So where does it go wrong?

Halloween, Smut, Irresistible men and this was written by Sadie Sins? Count me in!
Starting off with The Familiar, this is about Sebastian who may have reached a low point in his life, but that all changes when he comes across a injured cat. I'm not one for spoilers, so I'll never do that if it can be helped. Let's just say that I would have loved to see some more. Then again that's my general feelings towards most short stories.
Then comes A Monster Bash, and this is about a young sorcerer who has the hots for a very well known sorcerer. Its a Halloween party and Will gets far more than he bargained for. Overall, I thought this entry was ok, but still freaking hot! I believe this is where the title of this collection comes from: Taken By Beasts, comes into play.
Crimson Moon is freaking adorable! Its about 2 best friends harboring a secret from the other. Although, one of them has more than one secret. I honestly loved how this played out before the truth came to light.
The Devils House, now this one gave me a little bit of Hocus Pocus vibes, but an X rated version. Mitch is doing his civic duty as an older brother by taking his little sister out for trick or treating. They end up at a house Mitch had been avoiding for years. I will leave it at that :p
Going Wild. Talk about saving the best for last! I adore this short story the most! I'd like an order of Silas please?

These did not work for me at all. The writing was fairly decent, with only a smattering of spelling and grammar errors, but it was also rather repetitive. Paragraph after paragraph was saying the same thing, just slightly reworded. But most of all, it was the content that did these stories in for me. This author likes to push the limits on DUBCON, but there is a fine line between DUBCON and rape, and I think most of these stories crossed that line. When one of the MCs actually says that he wants to rape his BFF’s ass, that is not DUBCON. I was also extremely bothered by the fact that these stories were supposed to be gay erotica, yet not a single one of the MCs was an openly gay man. With maybe one exception, they were all meek, somewhat submissive, allegedly straight men who were literally forced to question their sexuality. When I really look at these characters, I see way too many stereotypes being played up. Sorry, but there were just way too many negatives overpowering the questionable erotica.

I want more
"The Familiar" and "A Monster Bash" are, by far, my favorites and I really want to see a full novel or sequel or serial of them. I want to be able to read AMB again, like it was the first time.
I can see so much more going on with both of these stories. Can't you imagine the fun that could be had with a guy that has cat ears and tail? What about a sweet guy that gives himself to a sorcerer and three monsters. I wonder what kind of trouble they could get into with three huge monsters and a sorcerer.
The other stories were fine, but these two just called to me. I want more!

How old are they really?
So the use of the word boy.... The author goes out of her way to say they're college age. But to address them constantly as beautiful boy or boy, when it gets a little steamy. It just threw me, made me keep thinking these characters are way younger than they're supposed to be. And was a bit uncomfortable. The last story Demon House, I can see it since they were doing the whole Master thing.
The writing was good, to the point that they could have been full length books instead of shorts. But yeah the boy thing, nope. It made it hard to read, for me.

Looking at it objectively, these stories are pretty bad. XD Poorly written, loaded with grammatical errors, typos, and random tense changes. Characters are all stock and interchangeable, and there are frequent leaps in logic that are hand-waved away by things like "musk" and "vampire compulsion". But at the end of the day, the stories are short, simple, and full of scenes of hot men being plowed by even hotter monster men. And really, that's all we're here for when we pick up something like this, aren't we?

This was a really sexually erotic series of stories that was full of the paranormal and very entertaining. Vampires, thralls, werewolves, magicians, shifters and mythical creatures..Menage' is part of some of the stories and the sexual encounters are really hot. An excellent book. Would recommend it for anyone to read.

Good stories poor editing
I enjoyed some of the stories. Some got a bit too weird for me. Plus the editing was really bad. Words were misspelling, incorrect, or just plain missing. As well as the wrong tense being used.

I picked this book as I was in the mood for some erotic stories, and oh, my! it did deliver. It was more than I expected, but hey, if it's a book about monsters, I could have anticipated the monster cocks, literarly. And I can't even complain that these were used in improbable ways, cuz the whole theme of this collection was fantasy and paranolmal, so realism was not the main focus of it.
Definately hot, but I haven't read a lot of MM fantasy with magical creatures, so I was a little overwhelmed by some sex scenes (#^.^#)

Lemme just preface this with saying, this is like 90% smut. That’s it. Story 1 doesn’t have any penetration except with ✋🏻, and is more cute than anything… there’s a reason I’ve reread this 3x.

I voluntarily received and reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.... This was so much fun to read and totally, hot. There's witches, demons, a minotaur, werewolves etc. I love the creativity of every story and couldn't put the book down until I was finished. Definitely a very enchanting read.

4.5 stars. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to read and review it. I love Sadie Sins! She always manages to have a good story with awesome characters and keep it piping hot! These stories were no different. They were short, but sweet in a wicked way ;)

I read this book through kindle unlimited and I will definitely be purchasing it. It was exactly what I have such a hard time finding. Hot steamy man sex!
