Jazzie Zanders and her husband, Ansel, are finally getting the house back to themselves as his brother, Radley, is moving to an apartment. His other brother, Bain, arrives intent to taking him back to the farm, ending up under suspicion of murder when his gun is stolen and a friend of Radley's is shot. Jazzie, her husband and cousin renovate and flip houses, so the background to the stories is working on the house, cooking delicious recipes and family. I love how this series bases the story in ...more

Murders, beatings, ex-c0ns and flipping homes mixed with large family and friend dinners, family problems and an upcoming wedding makes for an interesting combination. There are a lot of characters with some that you'll like, some that you won't and some that you might learn to like. However, in the end it all comes together nicely for an enjoyable read.

Jazzi Zanders and her handsome husband, Ansel, have settled into their new home and are happy to welcome friends and family, but not when it includes Ansels obnoxious older brother, Bain.

Bain is in town to persuade his other brother, Radley, to return to the family farm. Radley has no intention of going back to that lifestyle and an argument ensues until Bain slams out of the apartment. Moments later, Radleys work supervisor is murdered on the next floor and Bain becomes the chief suspect after

The Body in the Apartment is the fourth book in Judi Lynns River Bluffs series. There are more adult overtones than usually found in cozies. The characters are likable, the storyline is entertaining, and there are lots of twists and red herrings in this steadily paced book.

Jazzi Zanders Herstad, her husband, Ansel, and her cousin, Jerod, flip houses in the River Bluffs, Indiana area. Jazzi is very close to her family and hosts a family meal every Sunday. Jerods wife, Franny, will soon be giving

I think it's nice to see small town detectives utilizing select female civilians on a case because it would ease the ones being questioned as well as protect the department from certain kinds of lawsuits. Too bad that's probably not a reality (what do I know, I live in a suburb).
Anyway, this is a great cozy involving newly married Jazzi, her extended family, her husband's brothers, and numerous friends. Even though I had read the first in series, I was glad that there is lots of references so I

I don't know why I love these books more...the fact they are about a team of house-flippers and that work fascinates me, or the fact that the books are so skillfully written that you never ask yourself "why are these people involved in the investigation?" My biggest pet peeve with cozies is when the main character sticks herself in the middle of an investigation and has no business doing so. That never happens with this series, and I so appreciate that! This was a great mystery with a lot of ...more

This is the fourth book in the Jazzi Zanders mystery series by Judi Lynn.

What a fun and enjoyable read. This book is filled with so many foodie ideas for meals that I think this is my favorite part of the book. Just seeing what Jazzi will cook up is a crazy ride all in itself. I think I need a Jazzi Cooks cookbook.

Wow! I have loved every book in this series so far and this one did not disappoint. This book was a little more action packed and twisty than the previous books which is good, but it also meant there were a lot more characters and at times it became difficult to remember who was who. I still love all of the original characters and found Ansel's brothers much more likable in this book. I hope to see more of them in the future.

Thank you to netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an

I am liking this series. The characters have continued to develop in each installment. I like reading about the home improvements they make to the houses they are flipping. I like the interactions between the characters and that past characters continue to show up in the books. I am wondering how big Jazzi's & Ansel's house is that they can fit that many people in for Sunday Dinner. I loved having Gran make more announcements during the dinners.

Thank you to the publisher, NetGalley and the

It was a delight to visit with Jazzi and her extended family. Some new characters and some really bad ones. Nice that the detective keeps Jazzi actively involved, but not very realistic. No problem. I am here to be entertained. A charming page turner. Their house-flipping details are interesting. Lots of food talk, too. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.

Jazzi and her new husband (!) Ansel have a family problem- his family! Jazzi, Ansel, and her cousin Jerod flip houses for a living and they work hard. Unfortunately, they also keep finding themselves investigating murders. This time out (and this will be fine as a standalone) one of Ansel's brothers, Bain (who is a pain) is a suspect in the murder of his boss. Of course, the boss had more than one person who disliked him. Keep in mind that this is a cozy and that Detective Gaff, unlike any real ...more

House flippers Jazzi and Ansel have a busy life between work and family. Their business partnership with cousin Jerod also is thriving and their family is very close.
Ansel's brother Bain is determined to bring brother Radley back home and is the wrong place at the wrong time. His gun is removed from his van when he is visiting Radley and used to murder, Radley's friend in the apartment downstairs.

This one was a little different to the many cosy murder mysteries I've read. The main character, Jazzi, is on the scene when the crime takes place and it is evident she has a great relationship with the detective-in-charge who recognises her skills in getting people to open up. She doesn't try to take the lead but does spend time mulling over possibilities and responding to requests for help whenever she is called on.

There is a lot of stuff included in the book that does not relate to the

Book #4: Jazzi Zanders Mystery Series

If Jazzy Zanders believed in such things, she may start to believe shes something of a divining rod for dead bodies. Yet again, through no fault of her own, Jazzy has stumbled upon a dead body and the good Detective Gaff has called on Jazzy to help sort out the crime.

Unfortunately, this particular crime is hitting disturbingly close to home as Jazzys brother-in-law,

A lighthearted and fun cozy mystery with extremely likable characters. The Body in the Apartment is my first forte into Judi Lynns writing and is very far from my last.

Jazzi is an awesome character, who can do just about anything. Not only can she hang drywall with the best of them, this woman can cook just about anything. She has a strong body and a strong mind yet cares above and beyond what friendship is and her sense of compassion is something that cant be topped. Jazzi is one of those

This is the fourth Jazzi Zanders mystery and I think it might be the best. There are lots of things I like about this book. The season in the book coincides with when the book is published - winter is turning to spring. So often books are set in a different time of year from when they are published. I think I connected more with the book because I am experiencing the same cold and warm days intermingled as spring tries to overcome winter. Ansels brother Radley moves out. This book is as entertaining and engrossing as the other instalment in this series.
It's well plotted, the cast of characters is likeable and interesting, the mystery solid and kept me guessing.
I appreciated the fast paced plot that kept me hooked.
I look forward to reading the next instalment in this series.
