Dot is a Dalmatian puppy. Like her siblings, Dot was born without spots. As her siblings grew older, their spots began to appear, but Dot's did not.
Dot was worried, but everyone assured her the spots would appear. They also assured her they would love her just the same--spots or no spots. The important thing? To be proud of who you are!
In the meantime, Dot tries out different kinds of spots: paint, soot, pepper, mud. None worked out exactly right.
Then. There they were! Spots!
Charming story about being yourself.
The author has a Dalmatian named Lucy, and she was the inspiration for Dot.
