A good introduction into the significance and influence of Ilyenkov.

This is not really a philosophical book, more like a book about a philosopher and his influence. I've read most of Ilyenkov's works, some several times, and a fair amount of secondary literature and I still learned new stuff here. So if you're new to the thinker and want an intro, this is a good one, even if not so much regarding his actual philosophical views (which are touched upon but only very generally, however this is a ve

A very readable short introduction into the many events that have, against the odds, culminated in an international appreciation of the work of Ilyenkov. The book requires no special knowledge of Ilyenkov or of philosophy. What I found interesting was how many separate streams of contemporary work Ilyenkov had mediated, giving me a better understanding of the context and motivations of current influential figures in social psychology like Engeström and Hedegaard.
