An Englishman arrives in Ireland to check on family holdings, but stops at an inn to wait for repairs on his brother's carriage. The carriage bears the family crest and naturally everyone would think he's a lord. Only Simon is the spare and is only there as a favor for his brother. Plied with ale, Simon finds himself married to an Irish lass to fulfill a prophecy. Throw in a possible murder, misunderstandings, eleven brothers, an annoying prophecy, and some humor for a delightful love story of an Irish lass and a former English privateer. I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book.

Charles II has the English throne and English/Irish tensions run high. A beautiful Irish girl has the responsibility of fulfilling her families ancient prophecy: Wed a lord and produce a child.
A young Englishman, mis-identified as a lord and the Irish girl square off. He claims he is not a lord and she keeps her distance as he doesn't fit her prophecy.
The author weaves the primary characters' history and life goals together for a surprising love match, and happy ending.

The book is set in Irish times. I was looking to read the Irish brogue, but the book didn’t give it. The story has some interest to it. It’s easy to read. I found the characters enjoyable. They brought good entertainment to the love story. The story reads at a fast pace and seems to hold people’s attention.

This book has a lot going on. If you like romance mixed with an ancient prophecy then pick up this book! I liked the main characters and enjoyed the book overall.
