A CRIME OF A DIFFERENT STRIPE by Sally Goldenbaum is the fifteenth book in the Seaside Knitters Society cozy mystery series and takes place in Sea Harbor, Massachusetts. The book worked as a standalone novel, but reading the first books may provide some additional background on the characters and town.

The main characters in this novel are a soon-to-be mom and co-owner of the Halloran Lobster Company, Cass Halloran and her friend Izzy Perry, mother of a toddler, former attorney, and current owner

This is a cozy mystery, and this is the 4th book in the Seaside Knitters Society mystery series. I cannot get into this book. The Seaside Knitters are in action once again and this time things are really dicey as Izzy is finding that Sam is still holding secrets from her, Cass is about to pop a baby out and a mysterious older man who begrudgingly befriended the knitters is looking pretty guilty for a murder that he definitely has a motive to commit! The knitters need to figure out this latest mysterious death before the art colony is jeopardized as well as their town and before one of their own is locked away for a mur ...more

Dollycas’s Thoughts

Back in Sea Harbor, Massachusetts is a place I love to be. Birdie, Izzy, Nell, and Cass have become friends I look forward to catching up with when each new book comes out.

This time the Sea Harbor Art Colony is hosting a week-long photography event. Sam was asked to invite one of his mentors Harrison Grant to be the keynote speaker. The man arrives for the opening ceremony but when it is time for his speech the photographer is nowhere to be found. Sam is quite upset but is sur

A famous photographer comes to Sea Harbor as a guest speaker and lecturer at the fall art series of events. At Jane’s request but with reservations of his own, Sam has invited Harrison Grant, his former mentor. Grant comes with his own agenda, one the proves his downfall. The fourth in the series, this well-written mystery works as a stand-alone, especially since the author has kindly included a list of the many characters and their relationships. Though the mystery is an intriguing one, much of ...more

This is one of my favorite series. I enjoy reading books that involve yarn work, small stores, and fun, colorful characters.
This series by Sally Goldenbaum fits perfectly.
Birdie, Izzy, Nell, Cass, and all the other characters make the words in the page come alive, sweeping me into the story and into their tight knit circle of friends.
In A Crime of a Different Stripe, Sam, Izzy’s husband, has a piece of his past brought back to life, causing pain and anger amongst other residents in their seasi

The seaside knitter members are an amazing group, who have come together to solve the crime of a photographer. There was a lot going on both mystery and personal as well with Cass being pregnant and about to give birth. To be honest, I was a bit lost or couldn’t get into this series as this book is the 15th installment. It would be better to read this series if followed in order. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an opportunity to read this book.

This is a cute book. There are many characters and it’s got a sweet small town feel. It’s also about a mom about to have a baby so you can feel the anticipation.

This is the 15th book, so best read the others first. It’s well thought out and the plot is strong. I enjoyed this book, and I thought it was very interesting. I was a little overwhelmed by all of the characters at times though. It was hard to keep track, but I still did enjoy this.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Kensington for the ARC

Well another cozy Seaside Knitters Society mystery story read. It always feels great to reunite with Nell, Birdie, Izzy and Cass along with their families. I have read the entire series (I believe this is the 15th one). As always, I love the connection between all of the characters and their love of each other. I think enough people leave a description of the story in their reviews so I'm just going to skip that. Instead I will give my honest opinion. I cannot say enough good things about this series. It's always fun to visit with the Seaside Knitters who were soon looking forward to welcoming Cass and Danny's baby into the world. In the meantime, Cass and her new friend Elena were sort of mommy yoga buddies which led to a connection with the murder of a prominent photographer. There were times when Izzy was wondering if she really knew Sam at all due to his having had the photographer as a teacher at one time and finding some of Sam's work she'd never seen before. Izzy was awesome and stuck ...more

When Harrison Grant, a famous (well, semi famous) photographer is found dead on the beach in Seaside Harbor, the Seaside Knitters spin into action to solve the crime. Cass, Izzy, Birdie, and Nell all have different strengths and right now they all have slightly different issues. For one thing, Cass is pregnant and her ob has been keeping a very close eye on her. Izzy's worried because her husband Sam was the one who invited Harrison to speak at the art festival. You know Sam wasn't the one who d ...more

I love this series; getting together with these characters is like visiting with one's best friends. But I do have one small quibble — the author doesn't always play fair with the reader, when one of the group finds an important clue, it is not revealed. Cass, now happily married to Danny, is pregnant, and takes the pregnant Elena, the young wife of one of her employees under her wing, driving Elena to appointments, and joining her in yoga classes. Meanwhile, Izzy's husband, Sam, is talked into ...more
