Those are mystery, thriller, and sci-fi, by the way...and you'll find them in short stories, novellas, and novels. I reached the point in my reading where I couldn't put down my Kindle and stop reading FULL MEDICAL by Steven M. Moore. I think it stands with the best ebooks I've read and with some really good thriller fiction.

Moore's story is set in the not-too-distant future where things have changed in our United States. Health care has become a travesty. No one can afford any sort of insurance, and costs are completely out of hand. In this future, health care is run by corporations, to an even larger degree than it is today. Corporations are compassionless in this vision, existing for only one purpose: making profits for their largest shareholders. I was struck by the idea that even when the physicians donate their services, the surgeries are still way too expensive. It hits pretty close to home for me right now.

Moore has a solid grasp of the science behind his future, and it makes this book all the more frightening and believable. It's a cautionary tale, one that hopefully is not too late to take heed of. I strongly recommend this book. I immediately purchased the other book in his "Clones and Mutants" series. I hope it's close to being as good as this one was; if it is, I will be very satisfied.
