I’d come to a point in my life where I no longer gave a damn about anything. Hell, things had gotten so bad I didn’t even care if I was alive or dead.
That changed when I was introduced to the world of Satan’s Fury—a world filled with danger, intrigue, and, most of all, brotherhood.
I wanted to be a part of that world. Hell, I craved it, so when they offered me a chance to prospect, I took it without question. I was determined to prove I was worthy of the Fury patch.
With the grueling demands of prospecting, I didn’t have time for distractions, but when I crossed paths with a beautiful damsel in distress, a distraction is exactly what I got.
The second I laid eyes on the sexy vixen, I knew I was f*cked. Everything I wanted was on the line, but I couldn’t walk away.
When I came to her rescue, she thought I was a good guy, but she’d soon learn that even a good man could have a dark side.
Clay is new to the day and fury. He's a prospect. Landry works for child protection services. One night Landry is heading home when she hits a dog by accident. Clay sees a woman in the road and stops to help her. This is their story. He thinks she is beautiful. She thinks he's sexy.
Prospect was the eighth book in L Wilder’s Satan’s Fury MC - Memphis series. The series was a spin off from the original Satan’s Fury series.
We met the Prospect, Clay, in previous books before he even was a prospect. We didn’t know much about him except that he had lost his way and needed some help. He had been shy so we didn’t get to know much about him previously, but we knew he was quiet, loyal and observant. I enjoyed getting to know him better.
Landry was a Child Service’s social worker. She normally wouldn’t cross paths with Clay but an unexpected meeting occurred when she accidentally hit a stray dog. The two met and bonded immediately.
Prospect was a quick and enjoyable read. Along with Clay and Landry’s exploration, it weaved Landry’s work issues into the plot, providing a bit of suspenseful vibe in the storyline. Wilder also continued to develop the MC storyline and their personalities.
In the end, it was quick and entertaining. It looks like T Bone may be next and I can’t wait.
Oh man! Talk about fate! Landry hits a dog with her car and actually stops to help the poor pup. Only, the dog is too big for her to help into her car. Oh no! What’s a girl to do??? Enter Clay. He spots Landry and the dog and offers his assistance. Such a gentleman! Although they are both attracted to each other, he tries distancing himself. He doesn’t feel he is good enough for her and he feels with prospecting he won’t have enough time for Landry. Silly boy!
Start to finish, this story captured my attention. I could not put it down. I hated having to work since it forced me to put the book away.
This is part of a series, but it can be read on its own with no issues. I highly recommend this one! Great MC series! You won’t be disappointed!
I love this series and this book was no exception. A little tamer than the others, but still danger, heat and HEA. Clay got in all kinds of problems when his got into trouble with her date, and he had to protect his sister. But his uncle took over and sent him to Gus in Memphis, hence the satan's fury. He meets Landry by accident when he sees her in the middle of the road by a dog she hit. When she meets trouble because of her job, he steps in to help.
I definitely loved Clay. He might have gone through a rough patch and gotten into some trouble, but he was clearly a guy with a good heart. That's what lead to the trouble to begin with. But it came from a place of love.
Landry was a great character as well. She was kind and clearly very giving of herself to do what her job requires. Then again that's one of the things this author does best. She writes characters that may not always be doing good things, but they have good hearts. The characters are hard not to love.
From the exciting first meeting to the very interesting end, this book held my attention. It was a well written story that I just didn't want to put down. I would absolutely recommend this one to fellow MC fans and I'm looking forward to what's to come.
Well Leslie did it Again with another fantastic book. She gave us a view from the prospect side of the mc life .clay was out of control before he was sent to the Santa's Fury MC ,but he was still had some issues to work through but one night he stops to help a woman who had hit a dog . He didn't think he was good enough for her and between prospecting he wouldn't have time to date. Landry works for the dcf and does welfare checks on families and children and her job is stressful and she meets clay after she hits a dog and clay helps out with the dog but when sparks fly between them can they find away together or will Clay push her away? This book will have you hooked from page one until the end and it is emotional read in spots and action packed as well. I absolutely loved this book and cant wait to see what her next book is gonna be.
This is one of those books. You know what I'm talking about! The ones that fall in your comfort zone, but is just different enough to make it seem new again. I love MC books. And I've read a lot of really good ones. And I've even enjoyed books by this author before. But this one really stands out to me. Usually MC stories are about patched members, ones that have been around for a while, and have lived the life style. This story is told from the POV of a prospect, a young guy, just finding his place. And I have to say, I really enjoyed it! Clay and Landry's story was really amazing!
Landry is just starting out in life, trying to find her niche, her place in the world, after a lifetime of living under her family's shadow. And she's found it, found a job that she really loves, despite how tough it is. But when Clay is thrown in her path, unexpectedly, she isn't sure what to think, or what to do.
Clay is just a prospect. After some rough years, he is finally getting himself straight, finding his way in the brotherhood, but as a prospect, the MC is his life and there isn't much time for anything else. But he just can't seem to get Landry off his mind. One glimpse, one meeting, is all it took, and his life was once again changed forever.
Clay and Landry are awe inspiring. Despite being from two different worlds, two different back grounds, they are absolutely perfect! Landry is exactly what Clay needs, what he never knew he wanted. And Clay completes Landry in a way no one else ever could. Drama and intrigue, and the busy-ness of life try to bring them down, but I finished the book with a big smile on my face! I love the guys of the Satan's Fury MC, they never fail to make me happy!
L. Wilder's Prospect adds another great story, in book eight, to the Satan's Fury MC Memphis brotherhood!
Clay aka Prospect struggled with finding his place in the world and keeping his temper. The saying "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" could easily be applied to Clay as he often found himself making decisions from the heart that many misconstrued as those of a delinquent because of the actions he often took in an attempt to make his points. Landry personified goodness with her daily behavior and her career as a social worker. What she lacked in self-esteem she buffered in an amour of caring and her commitment to helping others. When Clay and Landry met each other joining in an act of kindheartedness this work took on a sweetness that was unexpected and was a great addition to the Satan's Fury Memphis crew. There was innocence to this romance that prevailed despite the very real world they both interacted in.
In Prospect everyday life blends with the extraordinary events associated with being part of the Satan's Fury MC Memphis chapter with ease and credibility as L.Wilder humanizes her bikers with thoughtfulness and care. Moving past intimidating into the realm of inviting with her insight this author exposes the reasoning behind what many might find disturbing actions and gives her bikers a reasonable doubt. There is no glossing over with this author but by the same token she sees her portrayals with clear eyes giving them depth with well-rounded stories moving away from stereotypes in telling their truths. L. Wilder's proves that her bikers stories never get old as Prospect joins the ranks of her fantastic Satan's Fury MC Memphis series!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own.* *While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone.*
With all of this author’s MC books I just couldn’t put it down and it kept me glue to my kindle throughout. Clay was headed on the fast track to jail time because he just couldn’t get over and deal with his anger issues. Thankfully his uncle steps in, the President of an MC, he encourages Clay to prospect for the Satan‘s Fury Memphis chapter and with this one act it changes Clay’s life for the better. While he is prospecting he needs Landry and sparks fly from that one meeting. Landry works for Child Protective Services and some of the cases she gets are really emotional for her. They meet after she has a dog and they decide to take her to a vet, and as they say the rest is history. Clay has some misgivings about starting a relationship with Landry while he is prospecting. Will he take a chance and make that leap of faith? Will Landry let her insecurities show and not take that step with Clay? I can’t wait for more of the MC life from this author!!
Clay is a new prospect. His Uncle in another club suggested he go prospect for Satan's Fury to get out of town and try to get his anger under control. He had a good reason to be angry.
At first he was just a hang around then he got the chance. They put him through the ropes but good.
Landry is a social worker. To her it's not just a job because she really wants to help families. We hear about some of the dangers of her job.
On her way home from work she accidentally hits a stray dog. Clay comes along and helps her get the dog to an emergency vet.
He wants her but not sure if it's possible while prospecting because he doesn't get much sleep as it is. Seems even though he is a big guy he has a lot to learn.
I've loved this series and just getting back to finishing it up. Hopefully there will be lots more to come.
Clay and Landry. MF. Well Written. Story flows freely and easily. You can easily fall into the world of Satan's Fury. Great set of characters and Supporting Characters. I LOVE Gus, he is my absolute Favourite, but boy does Clay come close to knocking Gus off the Pedestal. He is such a Loving Character maybe not some much when "Hyde" comes out, but his heart in the right spot. I Mean who doesn't Love a guy who takes in a stray dog !! Landry is just a Sweetheart and the two characters are ideal for each other. Absolutely Awesome bk. Recommend the book and the series. You really can't go wrong with a L Wilder Bk.
My new favorite I loved Clay, so protective of those he cares for. He’s a devoted guy. I really loved Landry as well. Her job I could never do tho...protecting the innocent without going ballistic on people, nope wouldn’t happen!!’ When these two meet by chance, I felt the connection right away.
This book had me feeling all kinds of anxious and wondering where the author was going with this or that. It left me feeling happy and hoping for a certain couple of people to get a book in the future!
I loved this book but then again I love all of L Wilder's books. Prospect follows Clay as he prospects with Satan's Fury, he meets Landry one night and there's instant attraction between them both. But life as a prospect can be crazy, getting the runt of the work, phone calls at anytime to help the brothers out. Clay doesn't want to let Landry go. I loved Landry caring nature, and her love for her job. Her and Clay are amazing together, loved their story.
Read this in one setting. L wilder knows how to write a strong man but what always makes me smile and her books so much is the women they are strong. They are not damsels in distress. They are as strong warhead men in their own way. This is one for the fav category. It’s a must read.
A five star must read because it's so good and you won't be able to stop until you finish. Loved Landry and Clay's story. Action, adventure, steam, intense, beautifully written and oh so good. I finished this baby in one sitting.
Another great book. I love prospect. Clay & Landry won me over from the beginning. I love that there’s no cheating & oh how is love a dog like duchesses.
Prospect by L. Wilder is just one of those books that you pick up and binge read to the end. With amazing characters, a great story-line, some sexy scenes and a motorcycle club. What more could you ask for?
The story centers around Clay ‘Prospect and Landry. Clay has had a pretty hard time lately; his life was spiraling out of control and it is only with his MC member uncle stepping in and helping become a Prospect for Satan’s Fury MC that he starts to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Working hard as a mechanic and prospecting takes up a lot of his time and he has no time for a relationship, that is until one night he helps Landry who has accidentally hit dog.
Landry is a hard worker, working for Social Services her days are filled with helping children and families. With the burden that that brings to her emotional health, on the way home one night she accidently hits a dog and is helped by Clay. Sparks fly instantly but both of them are a little scared to take anything further, due to time, baggage and life just getting in the way.
This was a wonderfully written story and although it has some graphic elements of what living in an MC can be like, you are left with an overall sense of brotherhood and looking out for one another. It was great to see Clay come to that realisation before it was too late as well as learning how he got his club name (no spoilers). Clay and Landry have a lot going on in their lives and you really get the sense of them trying to balance it throughout the story as well as Landry understanding hat Clay has this harsher side to him and that it is something that she is going to have to accept if she wants to be a part of his life.
There is certainly a connection between all of the characters in this book and you are rooting for Clay and Landry throughout. There are some tough scenes though that both of them have to work through both professionally and personally, as well as some really steamy scenes. If you like well written MC romances, then you can go any further than L. Wilder. A delightfully sinful read!
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊
What a great story showing what Clay has to go through prospecting with the Satan's Fury - Memphis and all that is expected of him. Clay has had a hard time growing up especially dealing with his temper while defending his sister's honor. When his father died, Clay became more violent until his Uncle Viper, Pres of the Ruthless Sinners MC stepped in and told him he had to change his life and offered him a chance at a new beginning with Gus, Pres. of the Satan's Fury MC in Memphis. This story will pull you in as you follow Clay on his journey and what is means to be a prospect, that family, loyalty and brotherhood mean everything and once all is achieved the goal is to become a patched member. When Clay happens to help a young woman named Landry who hit a dog by accident his life is going to change forever as these two will begin a journey of friendship starting with the caring of a dog which has them falling in love. The chemistry between Clay and Landry is explosive and passionate can these two make it work? Does Clay have the time he needs to devote being with Landry as he knows that being a Prospect his role within the club must come first. Now Landry who is a social worker ends up in danger from a family member when she helps a young girl placed in foster care for her safety. Can Clay and his brothers end this danger or will his temper get in the way of his happiness. Can Landry embrace the club and Clay's role in it or will a biker's life one that is filled with danger and violence have her second guessing herself to be with Clay? When all is said and done, you will fall in love with these two characters as well as the all of the brothers of the Satan's Fury MC- Memphis . So looking forward to the next book, hopefully about Clay's sister Lyssa and T-Bone. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
“It’s part of the deal with prospecting. When they need me, I’ve gotta be there.”
This was my first book by L Wilder and to say that I loved it would be an understatement. This book was beautifully written, the main characters (Clay and Landry) were very entertaining, and the supporting characters gave the book the additional depth that any good book needs! Clay has had a very hard time in his life up until being introduced to Satan’s Fury. Between keeping a secret for his sister and his father’s untimely death, Clay has had a lot of penned up anger in his body. After too many times of being in trouble with the law, Clay’s uncle, moves him to Memphis in order to help him save himself. Once in Memphis he’s recruited by Satan’s Fury to prospect for their club. All is going great, he has a good job, a place to live, a family of brothers that are keeping him inline. His life is stable settled even...until one night when he sees Landry on the side of the road with an injured dog. Little does he realize that by stopping to help her, his whole life and his purpose is going to shift dramatically. He will now have a reason to keep himself in check...he has a woman that he’d do anything to keep and to keep her safe. You see Landry is a little more complicated that he realizes, in order to give her life meaning and to bring her happiness sometimes her job puts her at risk...Clay isn’t going to like it one bit! And when that job truly does threaten Landry’s life Clay has to decide if he can have it all..can he protect Landry and still keep his word to keep Satan’s Fury out of trouble? I guess we’re all about to find out...
Clay is loyal, has a big heart but has a bit of a temper. After an incident happens while in high school, and his anger takes over, he has a hard time keeping his emotions and temper in check. When his uncle has finally had enough of Clay’s downward spiral he sends Clay to his old friend Gus, President of Satan’s Fury MC, with the hopes that a change of scenery and prospecting for the club will help Clay dig his way out of his self-destructive behavior and learn to control his emotions.
Landry has a heart of gold and a new, rewarding but tough job. She was always in the shadow of her family growing up, always feeling less than her brother, feeling like she wasn’t good enough or pretty enough and had a stifled relationship with her mother. After graduating high school and going to college she is finally starting to shine on her own.
When these two meet you just know they are meant to be together regardless of them being from two different worlds.
Being a prospect doesn’t leave much time for Clay to even consider having a relationship and Landry’s new career keeps her busy. Even though they know it will be hard they decide to try at a relationship. But between Clay’s temper, a failure to communicate and a dangerous threat to Landry will they be able to make that relationship work?
I love L. Wilder’s writing and story telling and this newest edition did not disappoint. I absolutely loved Clay and Landry’s journey and can’t wait to see what comes next from Ms. Wilder! *This book is told in dual POVs
* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCE READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *
I have loved this series from the time it fell into my lap and I have re read it more times than I can count. This addition is just amazing and sweet, and it shows that there are different levels to the MC world.
This gives you more of a slight insight to the grunt down and dirty work prospects have to go through and how they never have time for that work/life balance. But it also has a sweet fun and original meet-cute between our leading lady and Prospect. And we also have added in another sassy sweet animal to the mix which introduced me to another breed of dog to add to my dog farm wish list.
I love the sweet build to the climax on this one and how it was the softest in my opinion of all the books in this series and yet it was still a great attention grabber and held on to my attention the whole time.
Binge read it all in like 3 hours while I should have been sleeping but I was doing this instead.
I love how the strong lead in this still had a brooding man pining over her and wanting her safe and sound, but there was less barking and more compromise in this relationship. There was more trust building through 'normal' relationship tests and ups and downs, rather than crazed bikers coming in and ruining life with a lot of anxiety and angst.
I do highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who loves fluffy romance with an edge to MC lovers.
I truly enjoyed reading this book about Clay... aka, "Prospect" this was the last book in L Wilder’s Satan’s Fury MC - Memphis series. The series was a spin off from the original Satan’s Fury series. and I so want more but sadly must wait for the author to write more :) I will do my best at being patient hahahaah.....
We meet the Prospect, Clay, in a previous book before he even was a prospect. We didn’t know much about him except that he had lost his way and needed some help. He had been shy so we didn’t get to know much about him, but we knew he was quiet, loyal and observant. it was a great read how she brought him to life in this book. Landry Dawson ... a Child Service’s social worker. She was so not the normal that one would see cross paths with Clay but what an unexpected meeting, he is bone tired ,weary and as he is heading to the garage he happens upon her and a what sounds like an impressive animal.....when she accidentally hit a stray dog. The two met and seemed to have a bond immediately.
Prospect was an enjoyable read. Along with Clay and Landry’s exploration, it weaved Landry’s work issues into the storyline, making for a more suspenseful vibe in the storyline. their lives continued to develop and the MC storyline and their personalities. In the end, very entertaining. In what I hope the next book will be about... T Bone and I can’t wait. definitely a great read......
The talented & addictive L. Wilder is back with Prospect, which is every bit as great as all of those amazing stories of Satan's Fury MC series to come before. Clay's sister got hurt, then his father was killed in a very short time, and he spiraled badly, until his Uncle (Viper) sent him to Satan's Fury MC in Memphis to get a handle on things while getting away from all the terrible things starring him in the face, and he goes. It's not long before he realizes that this is what he's been missing, and he buckles down as a prospect, who isn't even upset about what he has to do to join since he wants it so badly. Landry is a Child Protective Services worker, and it doesn't take long before she is getting a leg up on everyone else, probably because she truly cares about her cases. She has some of her own demons, but they didn't really hold her back in adulthood making her an amazing heroine. She hits a poor giant puppy one night, when she meets Clay who stops to see if she needs help, and they were off on a sexy journey, though it wasn't perfect. There's even the token f-bomb worthy twists in the story that always makes me so happy, so yeah, Prospect checked off all my boxes, with the exceptions that I came to the end, because I could spend my life in this series! So, hit that one click button as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
What a great storyline and continuation of this series! The latest in the Memphis MC chapter is Clay, the current Prospect, who we get to know through Viper and his relationship to the MC. After his anger and reactions get out of control after a series of events, he’s making a new life in Memphis and with Satan’s Fury and not looking back. Landry has a heart of gold and despite her insecurities and issues with her mother, always does what she feels is right no matter what. When the pair meet during one of Landry’s good deeds, there is an instant pull and attraction that pushes this couple together even though how difficult it would be. While this is a standard MC storyline, it is this author’s writing style that really takes it to the next level and sets it apart. In addition to the continuation of the series which also takes this story to the next level as we are able to see past characters and update on their lives while also getting to know characters that will be featured in future books, it makes you fall in love with both the characters and series. I loved this book per usual and can’t wait for the next installment! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I absolutely loved this latest book in the Satan's Fury MC series! I have been waiting patiently for Clay's story to be told and it was so worth the wait!! Clay is a prospect for the MC club and is finally feeling like his life has some direction and some purpose. He meets Landry one night when she hits a dog while traveling. They work together to help save the dog and he was attracted to Landry, but he knew that as a prospect he wasn't good enough for her. Landry has a heart of gold and wanted to help as many as she could. She never felt like she was ever good enough growing up and now as an adult its her turn to shine. They can't fight the attraction and work hard to make their new relationship work. However a serious threat to Landry threatens to derail everything, can Clay help Landry and not throw away all of the work he has done to keep his temper in check? This story was sooooo good!! I was hooked from beginning to end and didn't want to see it end. It was nice seeing the story from a prospect's point of view and it was refreshing to read. Their journey to their HEA did not disappoint and I highly recommend this story to all. I can't wait to see what this talented author comes out with next. Well done!!!
When you are the prospect on an MC like Satan’s Furry your life is not your own. You are on call 25 hours 8 days a week. Clay knows this all to well as he is expected to be at the patched in members beck and call to do WHATEVER they want him too plus keep up with his responsibilities at the auto shop. Clay doesn’t usually know if he is coming or going and he has no room for anything else in his life until his time is served, and he becomes patch into the brotherhood. No time for a dog or a gorgeous woman.
Landry never felt she fit in with her family or those around her. Now that she has graduated college and begun her career as a social worker, she finally feels as though she has found her place. Her case load is heavy, and she works with families who are in desperate need of help. Driving home from a particularly tough day a stray dog runs out in front of her car and she has no time to swerve to avoid hitting it. Who knew such a terrible incident could lead to such good things?
Another wonderful addition to Satan’s Furry Memphis Chapter. If you are a fan of L. Wilder you will not want to miss this installation. If you are an MC lover, you need to start from the beginning and fall in love with all the members of Satan’s Furry. 4 stars
Clay has a heck of a temper which is usually triggered when people he cares about get hurt or someone attempts to hurt his people. It started his senior in high school when some unfortunate events occurred where his anger clouded his judgment and his ability to make rash choices. Along the way he lost himself, but his uncle stepped in and sent him to prospect for Satan's Fury. That's the best thing that could have happened to him. With the guidance of Satan's Fury he can be the man he was meant to be.
Landry is an independent, hard working woman. She prides herself in her work, and she should, as it's a tough job and takes a special person to do what she does every day. One night fate steps in after Landry gets in a pickle and Clay comes to her aide. And so begins their journey.
As a prospect Clay has a hard time juggling his duties and his time With Landry. And as time goes on Landry begins drowning in her work and the obstacles that keep building against her. Their loyalty, dedication, and love will be tested. Both Landry and Clay have a heart of gold and I think that's what makes them so great together.
