The second entry in the "Paladin Princess" series.

Charlotte, a princess turned adventurer (after being abducted by pirates... Oh, hell, just read the review of the first book) is taken by surprised when her ward Kym (a six-year-old girl who is actually a millenia-old chimera) finds a map hidden in her (Captain's) cabin on the ship that she and her troupe "liberated" from the same pirates. It leads, it says, to a Book of Mysteries full of valuable information about magic and healing and interstel

The Pirate Queen was an amazing and captivating read! One of the best things about this series is the strong female characters, who are very inspiring and will go through hoops to overcome all their challenges. They also come out better for it. As the second book in the series, I had hoped it would live up to The Pirates of Moonlit Bay. However, it surpassed my expectations with leaps and bounds! The world Samarie Provost has created has the potential to compete with the likes of C.S. Lewis' Nar ...more

It seemed like a long time between books but the best thing about this series is how it engages the reader immediately. Again! And it doesn't let go.
With a storyline fast-paced enough to capture the reader on every page and a cast of characters you wish you could have as friends, it's easy to join this adventure. The author has a great imagination, blending mythology with modern fable. There's never a dull moment and this tale is proving to be what every pirate story should be - a rollicking goo

Spent all last night readiing this, the second book in the series. Ms Provost did something few authors do to me...her writing and characterization and world building kept me awake until 4am! Her handling of strong female characters is a refreshing change and I look foward to reading more. Well done !

Adventure, creatures and critters galore! This was a non-stop page turner for me. I literally had to make myself stop reading to go to sleep at night. Wonderful imagery and creativity. The characters are so well written it is easy to lose yourself in the story. Fantastic job Samaire!

Simply put, The Pirate Queen is amazing. The details were so vivid that I could imagine the characters and the world Ms. Provist created without trying. I plan to go back to book 1 and start the series from the beginning. Would recommend to everyone.
