I love colorful and 3-D books! So how can you go wrong with a biography that includes both! Waiting for Filippo is about Filippo Brunelleschi, Renaissance architect/artist/engineer.

This book would make a great introduction to the history of the Renaissance time period. Even though it includes very colorful, 3-D illustrations, I would read this with all my students, even the high schooler. What a fun way to learn information on a man who gave so much to our modern-day architecture.
