I’m a mom to teenagers… I’m also my late husband’s executioner. He was an abusive man on the fast track to devastation. He hung me from a fancy chandelier to die.
Had my saviours driven the long way home, I wouldn’t be here today to tell my story. It’s been a long road since then, but my children and I have finally moved back to town. It’s time to lay some ghosts to bed. It’s time to truly thank my heroes. It’s time to start living again. My name is Lindsi Conner, and it’s time to rewrite my story. * Cocky? Check! Handsome? Double check! Free spirited and loving it? Check, check, check. My name is Oscar Franks – Deputy Oscar Franks – and I love my life exactly the way it is. I’m thirty-six years old and single by choice. I don’t need complications in my life.
That’s what I’ve been telling myself, anyway. That was until she came to town.
Emilia Finn is an Amazon Top 20 bestselling, Australia-based author with more than 55 books written and published to date.
She's a mom, a coffee addict, a collector of quirky coffee mugs, and before she had kids, she was a real-life full-contact fighter.
Her experience on the fight circuits helped her pen her first ever book—Finding Home—featuring a world champion MMA fighter Bobby Kincaid, and his leading lady and equal in every way, Kit Reilly. What was only supposed to be a once off experience instead turned into a career for Emilia, a thriving empire, and a daily grind she never wants to be rescued from.

DNF I’m in chapter 17 and H is still fucking another woman named Tessa, getting hard on a phone call with her and things like that, At this point I’m not interested in their love or their future sex scenes, It’s been a long time since I read a book where H has sex with OW after having interest in the heroine and this book is not worth it, not even the Hero, Sorry! I think this is my problem because all the reviews labeled this as a sweet romance… I don’t get it… but this author is not for me, Sorry…
Lindsi’s story is the one that I have been waiting on, I just didn’t know it until I read it. Lindsi is a survivor of domestic abuse. She overcame it, and still struggles with the aftermath of it, as does her children Ben and Livi. Oz has seen her at her worst and is still there for her. Which makes him even more of a hero in my eyes.
I really enjoyed this story as I read it in less than a day. The main storyline and subplots were realistic. The dialogue between all the characters are realistic. It was not rushed at all. The author has the magical way of bringing the characters to life and makes you long to be part of their crew. Lindsi and Oz are definitely in my top twenty of favorite couples.
I will definitely recommend this book to others. I give it 5/5 Platypires
See, here’s the thing. I fell in love with Emilia’s writing, all the Rollers, and all their friends then it just kept growing like this out of control love bomb. Like my heart was a little snowflake on top of a giant mountain and every word was my heart rolling and now it’s this giant avalanche of love every time I start another book with all these characters I love. I read, a lot. Like A LOT, a lot but when I opened Rewriting You it felt like coming home. Every single one of these characters are the kind that get right into your heart a live there forever. Oz has been one of my favorites for a while. *Don’t tell Jack* His hilarious man child ways make him exceptionally lovable. I can’t tell you how many times I was cracking up at the things he says and does. But all the jokes, sarcasm, and silliness in the world can’t hide how great of a man Oz really is. Underneath all the fun and games is a heart full of love. Lindsi has gone from someone I wasn’t sure about to someone I not only love, but also respect since she was first introduced. She’s survived things no one should ever endure and come out stronger than you can imagine. Constantly overcoming, growing, and ultimately using her pain to help others there’s no way to avoid loving this woman. As always with Emilia’s exceptional books family plays a significant role. Lindsi’s two children are pulled right into the loving arms of the Roller family with her, but it’s Oz who makes the greatest impact this time. With sweet swoony romance, nice sizzling heat, heart warming family, and hilarious laugh out loud moments to balance the deeply emotional ones Rewriting You is a book that will be read over and over again for me.
"Are you trying to make me fall in love?" "Maybe.I fell like you tricked me into it already. Can't say I'm too pleased about it."
Finally, Oz's book. Finally.
I love it. 100% love it. It was so good, and I fell in love with Oz even more than I already was. He's just so thoughtful and respectful and caring without losing his "bad boy" attitude. He's like the perfect man for me. And I really like Lindsi too. I can relate to her too much, and I don't know if that pleases me or scares me to death. She's so strong, she doesn't give up, she put her past behind her and tried to help others do the same and protect themselves. She's amazing.
Rewriting you also gave me back my Rollers. So many good scenes with them; I'd missed them, their dynamic and jokes, their bond and love for each other. Once again, they took Lindsi in, offered her a job and a family. I love them so much!
We first meet Oz and Lindsi in the Rolling On series and for their backstory you may want to start with The Rollers.
Lindsi is a battered wife who escaped her abusive husband with her two children, now ten years later she and her children are back in town.
Oz is the town’s deputy, a sworn bachelor who never wants to settle down. He first met Lindsi ten years earlier when he helped her on a domestic abuse case. Now all these years later Lindsi might just be the woman worth giving up his bachelor status for.
One of Emilia's most drama-free books I think and I'm fine with that because Lindsi deserves it after everything that happened with her and her abusive piece of shit of a husband. She grew a lot since we last saw her and I'm so happy for her. As for Oz, the redeemed manwhore isn't one of my favorite tropes but damn Oscar "Oz" Frances Frank, you have me. The whole romance was so soft, so sweet and tender, I almost can't take it.
I really liked the plot, seeing Lindi being strong and kicking butt (literally and figuratively), and the Rollers! I miss them so much and I love all the breadcrumbs that I can collect throughout the series, but this one was perfect. And the kids! I can't explain how much I love Evie, Benny really has a lot of work ahead...
So much fun...Love her writing style. She has a way of moving the story along with great flow. Once you enter her world you can't stop at just one, you get hooked and binge the whole series.
Oz and Lindsi are awesome together but for me it's the relationship between Oz and Ben that I love. Oz just bulldozed his way into 15 year old Ben's life like a dog with a bone. The banter was laugh out loud funny.
This one is one of my favorite books of the series between Rollin On and Survivor. Maybe even my favorite overall. The growth of ALL the characters was well done.
And learning about oz and his history and how he related to Benny? It was beautiful. I was afraid it would be too much like when Jack was a teen, but it really wasn't.
The conflict and drama were there, but the overall story was great.
The half point is for the non American words/phrases. Pyjamas and the ever cringeworthy "I gotcha back" for "I've got your back" are just horrible to read. Even "meetcha" is awkward. No one says that lol. Maybe meet ya. But it's not like gotcha. Even spell check is confused by meetcha. Haha. That says something. There are some typos and inconsistencies here and there but nothing major in this one. Overall, better than the last couple books and a fun read!
Edited to add: I also didn't care for the use of the word whore so much. Even Lindsi calling Izzy her husband's whore was horrible in my opinion. I have lots of girlfriends and while we're all different, we don't call each other derogatory names like that. It's just not cool. Especially when Izzy and the Kincaid's did so much for them. Not a fan at all.
This is book four of the Survivor Series which is also tied to the Rollin On series by the same author Emilia Finn.
This book starts with a flash from the past to set up the characters and plot. You revisit some characters from book 1 of the Rollin On series through the last book of the Survivor Series. We knew Oz from before as always being funny and a great best friend to Alex. As a deputy in the police department and in general a good guy. We knew Lindsi as a battered woman, single mom to two kids, and a survivor.
The character development was really good and well thought out, it built of the knowledge that the reader had from previous books. Unlike previous books this one does not center on all the other characters, this one is compact, Oscar’s family, and Lindsi’s family.
This book does have a HEA kind of, and it does kind of have a cliffhanger.
I discovered Emilia Finn a couple of weeks ago. She's quickly become one of my favorite authors. I started with the Rollin On Series and I have been absolutely devouring the books since. Scotch and Sammy's story was the first and only one I disliked. I thought maybe things were going to start taking a turn towards the negative but I am happy I was wrong. Not only did Oz and Lindsi's story get things back on track for me, but I think it may be my favorite story of all. I've loved Oz since we got to know him as Alex's bestfriend in Because of You and Lindsi, Ben and Livi are a great addition to the Rollers Crew. The banter with Oz's Mom was so fun. This story as a whole was heart-warming. I know these books can be read as standalones but I highly, highly suggest starting with the Rollin On series and reading them in order.
Loved the story of Oz and Lindsi. Lindsi is a little gun shy and with good reason. When she returns and decides to stay put Oz decides he just has to make a play for the single mom. Oz has been warned off by the guys but Lindsi is being pushed to do the deed with the hot hunk. I love Ben with his surly attitude and love/hate relationship with Oz. I can't tell you how many times I laughed out loud at their exchanges. The fact that Oz is scared of what Ben might do to him just cracked me up. Watching Oz loose his man card to a single mom was priceless and most definitely a great read. There isn't the normal angst level but that's okay because you most definitely have plenty to entertain and keep you turning the pages.
Emilia Finn is genuinely funny. No, it’s not a romcom (thank God). I found myself laughing out loud half a dozen times. What I loved: Oscar. Lindsi. Most of the side characters. The humor. The way the characters change over the course of the story. The issues addressed and how they were addressed. What I didn’t love: some plot points tapered out? Big things happen and then the resolution is a few sentences and I’m still processing things the characters are immediately over. Also, I know it was for setup for the next gen, but having the next gen described from Oscar’s POV felt cringey. I think it’s the first time I’ve really seen typos in an EF book. Maybe six. Not bad at all. On to the next one!
I don’t think, in good conscience, I can give an Emilia Finn book anything but 5 stars!!! She always captivates me with her characters from the very beginning. She makes me want to invest my time in reading about them because I feel like I belong to this crazy world they live in. Rewriting You is another amazing book by her that draws you in more than the last one. These characters ARE my friends & family!! It feels like Oz is that goofy nut of a friend who everyone loves & never takes serious. But she shows you his vulnerable side. & his love for kids that aren’t his is just plain endearing.
I came in blind and expected Lindsi's book to be about the trial and Oz would be assigned to keep her safe. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the trial was skimmed over and this was really about Lindsi and Oz healing from their own traumas (& helping Ben along the way). Oz's story is heartbreaking and added so much depth to his character. Lindsi is a domestic abuse survior and while she's not fearless, she is brave. She's trying her best to raise her son and daughter right but Ben has trauma and she needs help. Then steps in Oz, who can relate to the teen and ends up developing a love/hate relationship that guides him "home". A great read
While MOST of the books in all the series' can be read (and enjoyed!!) as standalones, I would highly recommend you read Jack and Izzy's story in the Rollin On series prior to reading Oz and Lindsi's book. You don't HAVE to but it will have a much deeper impact/meaning for you if you do.
Emilia Finn has an amazing ability to keep it straight across not only books, but across various series of crazily interconnected characters. The details matter and hers are always accurate. It's actually surprising to me as I finish the 11th book on the same basic cast line, and haven't had a single "Wait, what?" moment.
This book can easily be a crossover between the rollin on series and the survivor series because Lindsi is a survivor but most of all she's a fighter. Lindsi and Oz's story is funny, touching and most of all, it's real. Lindsi survived her ex husband, but can she start her life and love again! Oz is as adorable and hot as there can be! The chemistry between them is amazing but I'm kind of a fan of Ben and Oz's bromance. 😍
Definitely recommend this book♥️ P.S. The cover is so beautiful, you can just keep staring.♥️♥️♥️
I am so glad that I read the Rollers series before the Survivor series because the way Emilia Finn blends this world is fantastic! Lindsi & Oz are a great couple to follow - she is a kick but heroine who worked hard to get where she is and he is .. well read the book and see. Her kids are great supporting characters and as always the extended family pop up constantly. I love this book and this author. I only found her a week ago but I think I have devoured at least 9 of her books since!
Another phenomenal book by Emilia!! Oz is absolutely perfect and I loved Angel for him!! I’m so glad Lindsi gets her happily ever after considering her train wreck of a first marriage. Of course I loved catching up with the Kincaids and the whole Roller family.
There’s not enough stars to give this book! Love all of Emilia’s books and definitely worth a 1-click!!
You don’t have to read the other books in the series before you read this one, but you’ll enjoy the book more!!
I absolutely LOVED this book. I didn't think I would, wasn't sure about a mom with teenagers for Oz with his rep. But I'm so glad I read it. It was hilarious!! I laughed so many times during this book, I even woke my kids up during their naps. But worth it. Loved loved loved Oz and his banter and how he kept things real. Even though his rep was that of a man whore, when he realized the things that were most important he stepped up big time. While maintaining his sense of humor and staying true to who he was, he did become a great family man.
Absolutely loved this story.. This is Deputy Oz aka Oscar Frances Frank's story and its oh so good. Lindsi is his leading lady, I enjoyed her character so much. She was one tough cookie but you wouldn't except it by her actions. I felt Ben aka Dragon aka Sasquatch stole this story. My heart broke for him,I loved how Oz handled their friendship. Ben acted like he hated Oz but I felt he secretly loved his friendship. Overall a great story!! I can not wait to read Ben and Evie's story it will be epic. Happy Reading!!
Oz is one of my faves. Lindsi went through so much and now she is dealing with a obnoxious teenager. I cried when Sasquatch talked about feeling guilty for not saving his mom. Emilia knows how to take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. I love each one of these characters and I am terrified what it will feel like when the series ends. Please Emilia don't stop for a long, long time. <3
Who says you can’t tame the playboy?! Oz never wanted to settle down and Lindsi didn’t want to do it again, but you can’t fight it sometimes. Things just happen! Oz and Lindsi fall for each other and bring a teenage Benny and Livi with them! The laughter and the drama are what this book is all about! The best combination of the Rollers and the Cops! Family never snitches!
I like Emilia Film's books more and more with each one I binge read on kindle. I started out with the Rollin on series and have become engaged and engrossed in the expanded family/friend group they have in this series which is also fantastic and I know already I am going to want to read about the second generation of Rollers. I have no doubt they will all consecutively continue to be five stars!
I was waiting for Oz’s story and I wasn’t disappointed. I love the relationship between him and Ben. I especially love how Oz never gives up on him. Their back n forth cracks me up. Lindsi is a good mom. I’m glad she found someone like Oz to show her men can be better than her abusive a-hole ex. Great book. Now on to Marc’s story :)
Everyone deserves a happy ever after! Lindsi had to reboot her life and go back to where it all happened to make a fresh start. I’m so happy it was Oz. He is a super goofy heart of gold kind of guy and this book was his story too. I love watching the kids grow up as well.
Loved Lindsi and oz story. Oz the Deputy couldn’t believe he sees Lindsi again. She back to stay. Last time he saw her when her husband almost killed her. Lindsi comes with a package two teen kids Ben and Livi. Can he win trouble younger Ben to date his mom. Oz who’s a player. Can he change. Love the story and understanding Ben’s younger years.
Im mixed on this review. I enjoyed the love story between Lindsi and Oz but I struggled with Bem. The way he talked, the derogatory name calling and his behavior as a whole was too much. I liked his sister and her humor which saved the story. It is the only reason I'm even sounding this up from a 3.75 stars to a 4.
10 years is a long time. But when you know you know. Tragedy brought them together then, and duty brings them together now. The antics between Ben and Oz are hilarious. Lindsi is a hard working mom who disengage time for all the trouble that Oz brings with him. But fate has other plans.
