REVIEW ☆☆☆☆
Well, I don't know what to say about Anonymous. It's disorienting, like the room is spinning, and you feel that sense of where am I, and what just happened. The perspectives, characters, storylines, etc. are numerous, and they run parallel, intersect, u- turn and have a head on collision. Do you get what I'm saying? This story is an excellent twisty sordid tale, and I couldn't figure it out at all. I played the guessing game and lost. Be prepared for psychological madness and manipulation, and that's all you need to know. Jo-Anne Joseph spins a darkly delightful thriller that you won't soon forget.

Plot twist left and right! This book knows how to keep you engaged! I found myself almost saying “omg” aloud several times. There are a lot of moving parts to this story and many characters involved. I’d say it’s a psychological thriller that is pretty fast paced.

One important note: for those that have trouble with cheating...this book does contain that. It’s not the h but it is the h’s husband who is a significant character in the book (and he’s in this a lot), but he’s not the H. Also there’s another cheating scene with a non main character (character is very minimal in book).

After a couple of chapters, I thought it was going to be like that show "You" (and/or the books...I actually haven't read those, yet). While I love that show, I was thankful that this was not a version of it.

If you like psychological thrillers, this one may be right up your alley. I swear I was semi-confused trying to put all the pieces together before the author made the big reveal! And truthfully, thankfully...I wasn't able to! I was racking my brain throughout the whole book trying to figure out who Anonymous was! Kudos to the author for me not figuring it out until you wanted us to.

This was my first read by this author and I'm intrigued to potentially read more. While my usual reads are romance...I do love me a good psychological thriller from time to time!

O.M.G.! Wow. I actually had to sit back for a day to decide what to write! And I still don’t know what to say! So let me just simply say that this book is amazing. It will blow your mind. It grabbed me tightly in its grasp and wouldn’t let go. Suspenseful. Just an all around great book.

This is a new to me author and one I've been dying to try as I've heard she's brillant at messing with minds.

The book will instantly hook you from the start wondering who that person is and what happened for them to get to that point.
The author then starts to set scene that will have you wondering how on earth all these puzzle pieces are going to fit together.

You'll find yourself speeding through trying to get some answers but take my advice and take your time. There are so many threads that are part of the story. As things come to light you won't believe some of the bombshells.

This is a well thought out story with so many different layers to it, you could read several times and still pick up different things. All I'll say is pay attention to everyone and everything. Your head will be spinning.

I honestly don't know how the author managed to keep track of everything, although there were a few inconsistencies they were honestly to be expected with book like this. Was pure genius. Even with those small things, it doesn't make this book anything less than 5 stars.

Gripping. Bone-chilling. Mind-blowing. The characters captivated me. While I disliked a few of them, their story had me holding my breath in suspense while turning the pages as quickly as I could.

If you are looking for a mind blowing read with plenty of suspense and mystery, then this book is for you! Every chapter brought something new to light and I couldn’t wait to read the next page. So many complex, incredible characters that will have you holding your breath in anticipation of their next words and actions. Sinclair is one of the main characters and you can’t help but be in awe of her strong persona. She has gone thru so much in her life and has no idea how much it is going to change. Will she survive when she finds out the truth? I really can’t say anymore as I don’t want to tell any spoilers. What I can say is you need to read this incredible story that will take you on the ride of your life! Just pure brilliance!

For me this story was closer to a high 3.5 star rating. The beginning I was intrigued after a while my attention started waning as it took a while for the pieces to start making sense. There was for me too much of the mundane stuff covered and not enough character development. It wasn’t until about 40% of the book that things started picking up.

By that time I had already surmised a lot of what may have happened and how things were going to play out. There were a few twists that I hadn’t seen coming which for me helped bring the story out of some predictability into something a bit more nuanced. What kept playing in my mind was “six degrees of separation”. Plus “choices”, the repercussions of someone’s choice and the ripple effect it will have on the future. As the story unfolds you start to see how much choice plays a part in what happens to someone’s life and others around them.

The story is told from Sinclair/Sin and Anonymous/Anna’s POV, we do get a little of Creed’s perspective later in the story but we mostly figure out what’s happening from Sinclair and Anonymous POV.

The later part of the story allows you to unravel the very strange web that has tangled all of these players into a seeming nightmare. This is where the tension does ratchet up a notch and you are hoping for a good outcome but bracing for things to go sideways at any moment.

The ending felt rushed and a bit predictable. There are still a lot of questions that I felt weren’t fully answered and some areas that needed a bit more attention. Why make it a four star review instead of 3? For me there was enough intrigue, several twists and gray areas that will have you questioning your sense of what is right and what is wrong if a choice can help a person in their time of need or a choice can balance the scales after a tragedy?

I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Have you ever wondered what the writing might be like if Dean Koontz was a woman? He's my fave across all genres, but Joseph seems to have channeled her inner Koontz with this one. It’s psychologically gripping with several storylines converging into an incendiary ending. And the good vs. evil theme? Oh yeah, it’s here. With a twist. A twist that will make you reconsider motives and rethink your core beliefs. This is like Koontz squared, with some romance tossed in.

My brain is still saying "Wait. What the? Whoa!" My psyche was teased and toyed with, my sense of black and white was challenged, my heart was palpitating and my mind. Was. 💥(Sorry, the review bots don’t like that word.)

Never mind a synopsis, trying to introduce you to characters, or giving you an overview. It would be too easy to spoil things, and you need to go into it blind, figuring things out as you read, in order to get the full, stunning, mind-bending effect.

This gripping, astonishing, complex story takes us deep, tossing in twists and turns, then revealing bits and pieces, all the while keeping us guessing. l I was left flabbergasted. Dumbfounded. Speechless. And you know how Koontz is epic with his good vs. evil theme? Joseph does that. But with a twist.

For your romantic hearts, there's also romance here, but again, with a twist. Also, it's more of a tiny ember, quietly lit part way through the story, tended only enough to maintain its spark, then finally fanned and allowed to flame near the end.

If you like romantic suspense, you'll love this book, and if you're looking for something different, this is the book. I can't urge you enough to give this one a read. It will keep you on the edge of your seat, challenge your thinking, keep you guessing, leave you breathless, and haunt you long after the last page. Don’t pass up this phenomenal, masterfully crafted, extraordinary read!

Mind-blowing is one way to describe this story, the twists and turns are amazing. Just when you think, aha so that’s that... along comes something else! 😉

What is the perfect life? An interesting question and although I don’t actually know of anyone who thinks they have one, either did the characters of this book! So far from perfect yet the facade was very clever.

The characters are all extremely interesting and some incredibly crazy too. They suck you in though making you want to know more about them, a job done well by this author who is totally new to me. However, I will definitely be reading more stories by this in the future.

This is a fast-paced book due to its involved storyline that has you gripped and needing answers. I have to say I did not want to put this book down once I started, it completely absorbed me from beginning to end.

Glimpses of life from various pov's leave you with so many questions: who are you? what do you see ?what do you do? The back ground filled in with stories put together showing so many different viewpoints, action, chaos, pain, anger. This author does a great job of keeping you guessing all the way to the end. This a story that could have been mundane if not for the twists this author brings to the table. Wondering who is who, who's watching who, who did to who, there is so many questions. This author does a great job of answering them while keeping us guessing. A twisted tale life of lies, love filled with lies, leaves her scrambling to recover. I have read a few of this author's books all bringing out different reactions yet drawing me back for more. Really really good read.

With this story, don't try to guess what will occur. You need to go into this story completely blind. Most of the characters are crazy, complex, twisted, and dark. The author kept dropping hints in the right places. The past and the present collided so well. As a reader, I knew there was a method to the madness. I just kept following all the bread crumbs and hoping for the best. I was hoping for the best for Sin and her kids, Willow and Gracie.

I never get bored while reading a psychological thriller by this author or a good whodunit. She always draws you in and leaves you wanting more. Damn... I wish there was a bonus epilogue.

OMG! This was my first book by this author, but it definitely will not be the last! She just really blew me away with this story! It was like a story, within a story, within another story! There were so many twists and turns, so much suspense and mystery, I kept thinking maybe I knew what was going on, but I was still missing pieces. I LOVED this book! There was one character I was hoping would die a slow, painful death. Maybe two characters, come to think of it! This is one book you won't want to put down once you start, it will keep you guessing and keep you reading into the wee hours of the morning!

At first it was really weird for me 2 read this story. I couldn't follow the plot without restarting it. Finally, it was a good story 2 finish. Thanks 2 Net Galley and Jo-Anne for letting me read an ARC before release day for this new author I didn't know about!! The blurb that I read beforehand, seemed ok just not really my type. I do hope that whomever reads this enjoys it.

Wow, talk about a psychological suspenseful thriller with a twist of romance in it. This is my first book from this author. She definitely kept me intrigued and guessing to the very end.

The characters are very intriguing indeed. There are some hard limits that might test people especially with cheating but I found that’s what made this book hard to put down.

Sinclair and Anonymous/ Anna are the main characters and they certainly have a way of getting under your skin. The plot is full of twists and turns and I’m still sitting here in awe with what I read. Get ready for a thrilling ride.

What have I just read?? This was so amazing I just wanna re read it agin straight away. I felt as if my mind was running ahead trying to guess what was gonna happen. Obviously I was wrong as the author kept throwing twists and turns at me.

Be warned once you start reading you won’t want to stop. Just one more chapter and next thing I know I’ve put my kindle down with a big grin on my face that the author sucked me in so good.

description

What in the world?!?!?!

This was a one-sitting read for me. I couldn't stop once I started because I needed to figure out what was going on. How do we get to the beginning? Who are all of the players? And what craziness is in store. As each chapter passed the crazier and crazier things got. The more complicated the situation became the more engrossed I became.

This book had a lot of characters who are not all that they seem to be. Sinclair has a perfect life until she feels like she is losing her mind. Anonymous is a complete mystery. And how they fit together is anyone's guess. This was dark, full of twists and turns and things that I did not see coming a million miles away. Things that I am still shaking my head at. It was left in place that there could be some to come or not. But I think it would be rather interesting...

What can I say? I love different and I love unique. And Anonymous was all that and then some!

Jo-Anne Joseph is an author that I can't wait to read more of. If any of her other works are even remotely like Anonymous, then I'm going to be so happy.

I love stories that are carefully plotted and planned and that's exactly the way Anonymous was. Every single "I" was dotted and "T" was crossed and my mouth was literally left hanging open after each chapter. In the beginning, I was a little confused, but I soon discovered that the author was laying the foundation, carefully at that. Sinclair was an easy character to like. She had it all--a promising job from home, two adorable kids, a loving husband, a best friend she thought the world of--and then it all started to unravel. Cohen wasn't so much the husband that she thought and her best friend wasn't living up to her end of the friendship chain either. And then there was Anonymous.

Each character played a vital part throughout the story and I felt like pulling my hair out so many times because just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, the story took another twisted detour.

If you're looking for a psychological, twisted romance, I can't recommend this story enough. The words will consume you and you'll find that it's not easy to put down. With each chapter, the flashbacks as well as the ones written in the present, will take your mind on a suspenseful journey.

FANTASTIC job, Jo-Anne Joseph! Hands down, a five-star read that will keep you up well into the night!!

It will completely absorb you from beginning to end. And by the time you finish it, your mind will be blown.
