PAIN UNSEEN: The Truths That Lie Beneath My Strength

When Casey fled her home to move 2,700 miles away at a moment's notice, she thought that she was escaping the trauma of her circumstance. She quickly crafted a new life - new job, new friends, new city, new adventures. What she didn't anticipate was being haunted by scars that were much older than the life that she had left. Journey with the writer as she peels back the fragile layers of her life; layers that she had not previously given voice to... until she was left with no other choice but to call them out.

My friend went to an art exhibition recently and picked up a copy for me since she knows I love books, and it was definitely an inspiring read. Casey’s story left me with the reassurance that kindness and strength are things that we should carry in abundance, for others and for most importantly, ourselves.

The book was amazing. For me, it showed how women especially black women are killing themselves by holding everything in and not letting their voice be heard. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
