DNF @ 26% I’ll admit my funk has made me intolerant for certain things lately and that could be the case here. If I’m being frank (or bitchy 🙈), this felt like a book that wanted to ride in on the success of bully books like Vicious but didn’t quite work. The reason for his attitude was downright stupid, so I felt like he was just being a jackass for no reason. I didn’t find the h all that likable either. I got to him stating “because you don’t belong to him” after she is hanging out w

It was cute but nothing to write home about. Honestly even at the end I didn't know what the hero's problem was during the whole book. So he didn't know how to communicate to daddy dearest but that was no reason to be the way he was? Come on, you are almost a grown up! Grow up!
The heroine, was cute but she too was too forgiving and the way she backlashed I thought she would fight more, make him work for it but nope. Nada.

So we have the main guy Mascen who is the rich popular guy in College.
Then we have Rory who is the poor scholarship student, who has to beg to get a job as a waitress once she joins college.

Okay so Mascen and Rory were childhood besties, until one day Rory had to leave.

Now years later they meet again and Mascen hates her. Why? Because after so many years they have met again and how did they meet? He bumped into her while she was leaving his best friends room.

Honestly, over the years I’ve fo

Seriously, how does this have so many high ratings? I’m 27% of the way in and I’m so f*ing bored. The book just goes on and on about nothing. NOTHING. why am I persevering???? The characters are boring. Not likeable. Boring. Ugh.

i just couldn't with this book. the writing and the story felt very juvenile which lead to me rolling my eyes the entire time. this story reads fanfiction with a lot of telling and not enough showing. i wanted a fun and quick new adult romance, but this was just not it for me. since i made it more than 50% of the way through, i am going to rate it and give it 1 and a half stars.

Eh 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel like I've read sooooooooo many books that are so similar to this yet so much better than this.
just your same old story where the hero and heroine were childhood best friend and then heroine moves out of town. now when they’re in the same college, and they meet after 10 years, the hero hates her for leaving... yeah no <3 pretty boring nothing new <3

So this was a love hate for me. I loved the story and the ending, I hated the dragging to get there though. It was worth the read and you should take a look, but I could have done without some of the angst.

i've been skimming books recently because i just can't get into them, but i can't even skim read this one. cole deserves better (he's getting a book!!! might read that) and i felt more chemistry between mallory and mascen than i did rory and mascen lol

Not a fan

What started as such a sweet beginning (that had me so excited) went downhill quickly, and stayed there. Cheating is kind of a hard limit for me. I feel like it makes the person untrustworthy and I don’t really care about their happiness at that point. I think the author was trying to go for the “badass” type girl. That would be great if authors could get it though their head that being slutty and not caring about other people isn’t what makes the character badass. I couldn’t get over t

Bad Boys Break Hearts is a beautifully written new adult college romance that will have you nostalgic over your college days. This is a romance story all about second chances and repairing two broken hearts...two hearts that were always destined to be together, even if obstacles stood in their way. Your soul will be consumed by this love/hate relationship between Mascen Wade and Aurora "Rory" Abbott the entire time you devour every word of this f

I have a new crush. Well, a few of them, but one so big, I don’t know what to do with myself.
First. Rory. My girl. The fire in her burned so bright. The things she overcame, the way she knew her worth, just the whole nine yards. She is my OFFICIAL girl crush. She made me cackle at the way she handled some things between them, but overall, she was just unapologetically herself, and I love that most.
Mascen. The villain, the dragon, the HERO. Something about a bad boy with good intentions is just s

Yea. This book doesn’t make sense. I’m really confused as to why the H hates the h? Apparently his parents were really open about why the h had to move away suddenly when he was 10 and she was 8, so I’m struggling to understand his animosity? It’s not like she had control over whether she could say goodbye or keep in touch when she was EIGHT. And we’re not talking about a mild dislike, he legit HATES her. It makes absolutely no sense. This book would be way more believable as a second c

Am I getting to old for NA romance?

I hated Mascen! What did Rory See in him?! He was throwing himself a pity party every other day and after a while I just wanted to smack him up the head

If you have read Last To Know get ready to meet Maddox and Emma's son Mascen and his girl Rory. There was so much to love about this book, the storyline and the characters made me smile. This isn't what I would class as a bully romance it is more a coming of age story. We soon discover from their first meeting that they have history but for some reason Mascen isn't oversome with joy at being reunited. I loved their banter especially Rory's spiky personality because she doesn't back down. Mascen ...more

Micalea Smeltzer is a new author for me, but after reading this I crave more of her books. This will definitely not the last.

I wanted to love this book. Honestly, Micalea Smeltzer has a beautiful writing style, and weren’t she technically such a good writer, and if her words didn’t speak to me on another level, I might have stopped reading about halfway through.
I know, I know, I gave this book 4 stars. That’s because I couldn’t put it down, both because of the writing style and because I needed to know what would happen next. The book is called “Bad Boys Break Hearts”, but honestly, it was Rory who was doing the heart

3.75 stars!
Until about half of the book I was extremely bored and irritated with the male character. I was even considering giving up reading, but I decided to continue and I'm glad. I don't know how it happened yet, but from one moment to the next I was very invested in their relationship and I couldn't stop until it was over. A book that I thought I was just going to abandon and so it was about 2 stars in the first 40%, became very involving, being about 4.5 stars after that.

Bad Boys Break Hearts wasn't a bad book, but I will be honest and say it wasn't remarkable either, not something memorable I'd remember down the line. What I really enjoyed was the banter between the two main characters, Rory and Mascen, and how their rediscovered themselves after years of being apart. The first half of the book, however, dragged on for what feels like ages. On the other hand, the second part really picked up and was at times maybe even too fast.

I'll tell you what my main issue
What was that 🤦🏼‍♀️

OK, I give this book 1.5⭐️ and this is only because I managed to read it all.

If I was playing a drinking game, taking a shoot every time a word “princess” was used in this book, I would be already heading to the rehab...

It felt like fanfiction written by a teenage girl. I’m not a native so perhaps it’s not my place to judge, but some sentences in this book felt so superficial as someone just took a “recipe” for a sentence and put some words in it - take this:

Rory really is cute, “thank you,” I whisper under my breath. This might be Mascen but I’m still going to use my manners … sometimes at least." Mascen liked to help his woman out in situations, “maybe,” I agree, starting for the stairs, “but if you’re telling me I’m going to be the first to eff you in a bed I’m all over it.” I liked this book, I loved Mascen. ...more

I'm bouncing between 3,5 and 4. Because, it was good, entertaining... But I have this mixed feelings, maybe because I expected some deeper things to happen, or because I really liked Cole and now I need his book.
I also need to know Mascen parents love story :)

This is the third book by this author that I’ve read and again it’s another top read for me. I loved the push and pull between Rory and Mascen, the side characters, everything! The only reason I haven’t given it five stars is because I felt the ending was a little rushed and the epilogue was too short, but other than that I really loved it, and I’ll likely read it again!

“Strength lies in what you cannot see, the mind of a person, and some people can handle more than others.”
I am in awe over this story. I stumbled upon in one day on Amazon and constantly had it on my mind when I wasn’t reading it. One of my favourite tropes of the genre is Enemies-to-Lovers and this one may have become my favourite. The use of description and how the storyline flowed was enriching. I didn’t want the story to end. I felt selfish and wanted more because th
