One of the greatest cities has fallen, betrayed by its own people. Yet Saida’s loss is even greater, and for her pain, someone must pay. Though the events of the battle were orchestrated by the Emperor, her heart casts blame on only one elf. While Elmerah and Alluin work toward the next step in their plan, Saida can think of only him.
Meanwhile, tensions between the Arthali and the elves are growing. Despite the strength they provide, the elves are hesitant to allow more Arthali to be collected. Not that Rissine will listen to their complaints.
Will Alluin and Elmerah hold this new, shaky alliance together, or will all fall to ruin, making the Arthali and elves alike easy victims of the Emperor’s machinations?

Faerune had fallen, betrayed by its own people and Saida has lost the one person she loved most in her life and for that she vowed vengeance against Malon. On the other hand Emerah, Alluin, Isara and Celen travel in search of the priestess who had been kidnapped by her very enemy and taken across the desolate sands known as Helshone. During the trying voyage Saida starts to realise that maybe her enemy is her only ally now and that together with both their circlets they could wield a force which might take down the demon Emperor Egrin. However the circlets are desired for their magical powers both by Egrin Denoba, and King Hothrath of the Akkeri, and none would stop searching for the might of Cindra. Elmerah manages to kill a greater demon whilst trying to close a portal to the underworld, and in doing so realises that her magical powers had grown, however she also realises that she does not know how to control her fires and that if not careful these would burn her to cinders. She who had always thought herself lesser in power to her elder sister Rissine, the pirate captain, might be the strongest of them all and together with Isara's nullifying magical skill they might just be enough to bring the demon king down. This great adventure story is full of sword and sorcery scenes, betrayals, loyalty and forging new allies in preparation for the upcoming war. A war which will be fought between witches, elves, humans and demons, a war like no other. Bring on book 4.
I have read four books into this series so far so I will do a quick review of those together. Honestly, I have had a great time listening and reading this series. I do wish the last three books had audible editions but even so, reading them is going to be enjoyable anyway.
I am curious to see where it leads and I kind of love that it made it seem like one character was the big bad but really, he was almost what I would consider a distraction from the real shit storm coming. Time will tell but I am definitely interested to see where this goes next in book 5!!
A very good read and everything is coming together seamlessly. I really enjoy the way this author weaves a tale. All of the factions are coming together and I am certain the next chapter will bring a war, not the war to end all wars yet though. Saida is becoming one of my favorite characters but I admit all of the characters have so much dimension that I love all of them and their characteristics, I even enjoy Merwyn because he brings value to the story. I don't really have any complaints on how the story was written or any proofreading errors. I highly recommend this book.
Love how there's multi PIC almost everyone gets one. Even in the characters YOU think is the villain then all of a sudden you are rooting for them to win as well. Love the main character she is brave good brash and unladylike. And other main character grows to b stronger every chapter. Glad Malon gets. sort somewhat redemption. And if course there is hints of multiple romances and subtle triangles. Cannot wait for book 4
I love these books. They are fun, action packed, full of lore, and feature dynamic & deep characters focused on strong female leads.
I wish there was a stronger queer story line here and stronger queer characters, but I do love that, overall, there are no romantic-based plots in any sexual orientation.
Read this series if you are looking for a fun, page turning adventure.
I have been totally enthralled in the storyline of this brilliant series of books, which has kept me reading avidly even when I should have been completing other tasks or sleeping. Just cannot wait for the last instalment!
This just keeps getting better. I love the characters and I’m really interested in Daemon and how he will fit into our band of heroes. I’d like Elmerah and Alluin to just get together already. Hell, Malon and Saida too.
Once again the story keeps you entertained and engaged. You can’t put it down. I love all the action and suspense. I really enjoy this series. I can’t wait to read the next book.
This is the third book in the Streisand i really enjoyed it, I'm intrigued with who Egrins love interest is, I am looking forward to book four in the autumn.
An exciting adventure full of action and intrigue. The various storylines and characters are awesome. I really like this book and I highly recommend it.
The Saga continues! Each new book gives us more insight on who the Emperor is and what his plans are. And our heroines rally to fight and defeat him. Good story!
