Unearthed is book one in the Death Seeker series by Cecy Robson.

I feel in love with Cecy Robson’s Weird Girls series and deiced to give her new Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance a try. I enjoyed the book, but I had trouble staying interested. Not sure if it’s just first book syndrome, but I’d read a few chapters, then put the book down for a few days, then pick it back up. Their where some areas that captured me and others no so much. I wasn’t as engrossed in this novel as I have been with her pr

A new series from an author who has a huge following and yes it’s another urban fantasy one but this time we get the Fae and the Grim Reaper ! Perhaps you are not surprised as the artwork does somewhat give away that nugget of information but there certainly are numerous surprises in this book. For a start our protagonist is Olivia a Pixie turned paralegal and she’s really quite a skilful multitasker . Add in the fact that the Fae are now living on Earth hiding amongst humans and then there’s th ...more

I love a good paranormal, urban fantasy book and I have a particular love for all things Fae at the moment, so this book seemed like the perfect fit for me. And while it was interesting and certain parts were really enjoyable, there were some things that felt lacking.

"Even Death needs love."

Olivia: The slightly clumsy, yet lovable and vivacious main character is sort of a cliché. But sometimes, a character with those traits

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot that Cecy Robson can't write, which is why not only is she one of my most favorite authors but also why I quickly grab every book from her I possible can. I also know, regardless of the genre or the topic, she will do it well and do it justice.

I normally shy away from books about the fae, with a few exceptions because most of them are so overdone and the same old same old but knowing what Robson can do with the mundane and same old same old, had me picking th

Unearthed: A Death Seeker Novel has a premise where Fae creatures have come to earth to escape the Death that stalks their land and devours their souls so they can never rest.  It’s a cool premise to be sure and that was my draw in as I usually enjoy stories with Fae ties and I thought the added touch of death into the story could work rea

Whenever I pick up a book written by Cecy Robson, I expect nothing but sheer awesomeness and Unearthed (Death Seeker) book 1, offered all that and more. Not only was it a unique and well-written story, it was awesome and captivating from start to finish.

The story was loads of fun. The interactions with the characters were both fun and solemn. Every moment felt real. I found myself invested in the lives of the characters. I feared for them in the face of danger and cheered them on in the heat of

I’ve Enjoyed Cecy’s other books, especially her PNR/UF, so of course I wanted to read Unearthed. This was a fun book that had me eager to get back to it anytime I had to set it aside. The characters were entertaining and lovable, while the story was engaging and fast paced. Ahh, and that ending ... not a cliffhanger, but it definitely made me want another book ASAP.

I first discovered this author when I picked up the first book in her Weird Girls urban fantasy series, progressed to her contemporaries, and was excited to see she was taking us back to an urban fantasy world. This time her supernaturals are fae hiding among the humans when the hounds of death got a taste for living fae souls. Suspenseful, emotional, sensual, and exciting with that welcome inclusions of the author's own brand of humor made this a fab reading experience.

Unearthed is the first book in Cecy Robson's new Death Seeker urban fantasy series. She has created a world where the fae are living among us but humans have no idea about it because they're hiding in plain sight. Pixie Olivia lost her magic and her wings when she left her home realm and traveled to earth with her family and now she does her best to blend in by working in a law firm. Fae living in this realm have to keep their magic hidden at all costs or the death hounds will sniff them out and ...more

Mon avis en français

I was really curious to discover Cecy Robson’s new series and even more knowing that this time it featured faes and Death. How can we resist it?

So we discover Olivia, a pixie, who works in a law firm run by other companies. But the faes are on earth not by their own will, but more to try to survive the creatures that hunt them all. Olivia has already faced them several times and miraculously escaped alive, yet it seems that this time is too much for her. This is how her wo
That was a fantastic story! I really liked the characters and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat with enough threads to keep it interesting. You can read my full review on my blog, Flora's Musings...

What Did I Like About It?

Unearthed was an excellent and original read. There are fay. There are horrible death hounds. And there is Death (yeah, he's a real character!)

Olivia had to flee faerie when she was small, but the king of the death hounds had fled as well. Little by little, most of Olivia's family were taken by the hounds, and she was left alone. Living with her best friend Dahlia, and working as a parale

Unearthed is the first installment in author Cecy Robson's Death Seeker series. 26-year old Olivia Finn is a pixie who wears a talisman to hide from Death. There are others like her as well, including some who work in her office. A Cù-sìth Death hound named Cathasach has been searching for Olivia and others like her. He convinced other forms of Death to feed on living souls. Olivia has escaped him several times before,

Four stars: A book featuring fae and Death clashing in an epic battle of good and evil.

Olivia Finn is a paralegal working in a prestigious law firm, but there is so much more to her than meets the eye. In reality, Olivia is a pixie who escaped from the land of Fae, a paradise overrun by the death hounds. Olivia and her family fled to Earth in hopes of escaping, but unfortunately, the hounds of death followed. The only thing that protects the vagabond fae from being eaten by the hounds are the sm

Cecy Robson enraptures us with another amazing and creative series. I can't wait for more.

Death had come to the land of Fae. The Cù-Sìth no longer ferry the dead to their eternal rest. They have been killing indiscriminately and glutting themselves on the souls.   The fae hide from the Cù-Sìth in plain sight with the help of enchanted amulets and other objects which protect them from being seen by these hounds of death but if you were to lose your charm, the howls you hear will be your only warn

Olivia Finn is not human. She’s one of the Fae, a pixie living in Earth’s realm ever since Death destroyed her world. She works for a law firm where several other Fae work. They wear talismans to hide from humans and Death. But then Death comes to the firm and everything changes. Word gets out that she’s immune to Death and it’s up to her friends and the King of the Dead to keep her alive long enough to destroy the Fae’s worst enemy, Catha

Unearthed is the first book in a new Urban Fantasy series by Cecy Robson.

This book started with a strong start and I was pulled into the story quickly. I really thought this would be at least a four stars. Somehow, it went down after a while. I'd say it was probably after we knew the main character was (view spoiler). I felt like this was made just to make the character special but it wasn't really explained except that (view spoiler)

I loved this so much, the characters are just amazing I love Olivia and Ryker so much, they have great chemistry and so much snark ! This isn’t a light read, there are a lot of dark themes and terror, graphic at times, I absolutely loved it, have I said that ! An addictive read, I have one criticism, I have to wait now for the next book, what a great start to what is going to be a fantastic series and a hell of a ride.

Unearthed by Cecy Robson was a fantastical ride start to finish. Olivia is pixie paralegal and Death is a lawyer (how fitting is that?). Olivia is cute & sassy and of course, Death is broody & sexy. This was such a unique spin on the Fae and the Grim Reaper. It kept me turning the pages well into the night. I absolutely love Ms. Robson’s Weird Girls and I can tell I am going to love this series as well!

I really like the quirky style of writing of this author it made the story so much better because of it. It was like a lighter more fun way of expressing the character.

Like they are in a scene were the character just finished being completely and utterly turned on...

"No, I'm not all right. I think I had an orgasm." lol even that part was funny🤣 (you just have to read it to get it 😂) and then like not even half a page later...

I've gone back and forth on what to rate this book until I almost lost my mind!

On the one hand, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It kept me hooked page after page and left me wanting more of Olivia and Ryker. I'm excited by the story and desperately looking forward to more! Which means pretty much five stars for me.
However, there was something about the way the story was executed that I found jarring and difficult. Time moved strangely, stuff would happen and I'd be confused and thinking I must've misse

When it comes to office drama Unearthed fits the bill with secret magical beings and a fae pixie named Olivia, who becomes the target of the Cù-Sìth.

The Cù-Sìth are Celtic demon dogs who destroyed the homeland of the Fae, and after killing Olivia's entire family, the survivors were forced to hide on Earth.

Light, fun, and gory... park your serious asses at the door, people. You need a sense of humor and a love of all that is fae to read this.

I've read my share of faerie folk books: from Merry Gentry to Wicked Lovely to Mercedes Thompson and everything in between. I've seen it all and I love it all. Ms. Robson's new twist is unique and so intriguing. I enjoyed Googling my heart out looking up all the Celtic mythology she borrowed from (I do that when I read; I'm a sponge for knowledge).

Always love Robson's paranormal adventures. The Seeker has a bit of a twist with the Fae try to stay under the radar in order to save themselves and humans. Olivia does not know what powers she has but knows that she does not like the hotshot lawyer Ryker. With the help of her office buddies this should be a magical ride. Great start to the series. I have been a fan of Cecy Robson for a long time and was thrilled to see that she was starting a new series. In a world where the Fae hide among the "normal" people, Olivia and Ryker must defeat evil to protect their way of life. The catch is that Olivia is life and Ryker is death. Can these two opposites work together? This was a great beginning to a series I look forward to following.
