Not one of the better books in this series, but still readable. Slightly convoluted plot.

Tessa Crichton finds herself involved in the two families--legitimate and illegitimate--of the deceased playwright Sheridan Seymour. His obnoxious legitimate daughter Baba is writing her memoirs, which will allow her once and for all to get rid of her illegitimate relatives. But any number of people want to see an end to Baba's book, and possibly Baba herself. What a surprise when someone else dies!
