🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

A dashing tale of romance from a bestselling author of Regency Romance.

Theres no doubt what historical period youre in when you start reading this book, From the authentic Regency styled lady on the cover, to the quintessential Regency dialogue and setting, you are taken back to another time. This story flows well, the plot is simple but effective.

Ralph is the archetypal Regency hero, attractive, troubled, and unsuitable. He has a dark family secret, which keeps him withdrawn from society, but in reality, the fact he is afraid of sharing it is more an indictment on

Ralph Swanson, Earl Pensby, is a despondent and solitary man, who mostly avoids society, and spends much time successfully gambling. Its not that he has any particular love for gaming, its just that when he is forced to concentrate, his mind turns away from his personal life and problems. Ralphs beloved mother has a mysterious illness, one which causes her to have unexpected attacks. Her doctor wants to admit her to an asylum for

A few cruel twists of fate and the conventions of mourning mean that Lady Edith is having her first season at twenty-three and in the Regency, that makes her practically an old maid. With her mother on the verge of accepting any proposal Edith might receive on her behalf, Edith is desperate to find a husband on her own terms, and preferably one she can like and respect, maybe even love. Fortunately, she has her brother Miles on her side, a former soldier who will take no nonsense and wont force ...more

To those that know me they won't be surprise if I say I love Historical Romances. I'm always looking forward to reading a historical romance, especially in the regency era. Historical novels transport me in a way that I quite enjoy, it's different from when I'm reading a fantasy novel, because in those the fantasy element is what prevails, but in historical books the characters are just like you and me. No magic, no powers, no other world...

This book is a Historical Romance book, and Lady Edith

Lady Edith, unprepossessing heiress and belated debutante, hopes to find a love match. Despairing of her choices, she places an advertisement in the Times' Lonely Hearts column. After a disappointing deluge of fortune hunters, she receives a letter from Mr S, an altogether different sort of gentleman, and they strike up a correspondence...

This could've been a story that I really enjoyed. Edith is simply lovely as she handles the curveballs life has thrown her way - bereavement, an impossible

I read this novel in two sittings on consecutive evenings. It was absorbing, engaging and witty.

Its the intriguing tale of Lady Edith, whose mother is keen to see her wed at the age of twenty-three. But who has ideas of marrying for love. Is that so impossible? She soon discovers who it is she wants, but fate seems to be against her.

I found the characters well-drawn and realistic, with Ralphs family conflict adding to the drama. Where he seems aloof, withdrawn from society, there is a good

Audrey Harrison was born about two hundred years too late. She wants to belong to a time when men were men and women were dressed in gowns and could float, simper and sigh.

In the real world she has always longed to write, writing a full manuscript when she was fourteen years old. Work, marriage and children got in the way as they do and it was only when an event at work landed her in hospital that
