I have always been a wallflower—too quiet, too shy, with a boring life that revolves only around work and church.

But boring is about to get a twist: Alex, my high school boyfriend, pops back into my life, though he hardly seems to recognise me and appears to like my friend, Chioma. And Simon, my best friend? Seems he has feelings for me!

Did I mention I might still be in lo

A light entertaining story. The heroine had me chuckling out loud with her antics and funny thoughts. Other times I was nodding at her observations and insightfulness. I got to know and understand Glory and why she did what she did throughout the book. Even while knowing her motivation, some of her actions were still annoying. And yet she was able to keep me rooting for her.

I enjoyed the flow of the story in the form of extended diary writing. This romantic story with family drama made for a goo

It Was Okay

This was a very interesting and unsettling read for me. First, I want to address how the domestic violence issue was glossed over and brushed under the rug. It's not alright to be anyone's punching bag at any age and the relationship needs to end anytime the signs arise because most abuse gets worse and not better. I didn't like that it was made to seem okay for the reasons he gave for his actions. I get that the book was as if she was writing in her diary but she stayed in her own th

My review

They say you never forget you first love; they have a point. I used to be so emotional then. I used to feel things so intensely. Sometimes, I wonder where all that passion, that drive went to. I even miss the blissful ignorance. There’s something about falling in love without any bad experience getting in the way. It means you get to live freely, without any barrier or fear. It’s why first love is unforgettable. Because it was the one and only time you loved freely. (Diary of A Wallflow

Diary of a Wallflower || Book Review

“Lately,my life has been feeling like old okra soup, unwanted and boring, tasteless and kind of annoying.”- Glory Abah,Diary of a Wallflower

Diary of a Wallflower tells the story of an introverted romantic lady who writes all her thoughts in her diary or keeps them stuffed in her head. Things took a little twist when she is trying to unite back with her high school lover who happens to be her Pastor’s Son and would soon be her new colleague at work all this and

I love it. The story is well written and captivating. There were so many scenes in the book I could relate to as someone who went to a boarding school and an introvert!

The story is about the love life of the author and how her personality affected her decision-making in that regard.

I cringed at the part where one of the male characters became physically abusive and I’m a bit scared that about this.

I completed the Diary of a Wallflower within two days; in-between tight schedules and I must say, it toyed with my emotions. 😂😂😂

The moments where you feel like slapping the character for being stupid and not seeing beyond their nose and those ones where you understand their plight and relate with them.

Personally, I felt the flashback to secondary school was too lengthy because I couldn't wait back to get to the future.

It was a good read all in all.

Here's my review;
