After reading some dark and disturbing books this was just the novel I needed. This was a great story with lots of heart!

Hadley, her daughter Mattie and nephew Skipper have been living a very constrained life. Hadley’s husband Frank is a controlling man who lashes out at Hadley whenever something displeases him. He is cruel and abusive.

Daughter Mattie is having some struggles of her own, she is 14 and at the age when she is trying to decide who she really is, what she wants out of life and how t

This is a Contemporary/women's fiction that is a take on Thelma and Louise. I love the characters Hadley and Grace. They both have their own problems they are running from, but I feel the characters and their story is well written. I really love the Skipper character, and his character just touched my heart so much. I feel each character came to life which made this book so much fun to read. The storyline had you

Well, strap yourself in and brace yourself for a bumpy ride as Suzanne Redfearn takes you on an exciting road trip with some unexpected travelling companions. Hadley Torelli is married to Frank who is frankly (sorry) a rotten excuse of a man and she’s had enough. Grace Herrick works for him but he ruthlessly tricks her and is about to fire her. I shall divulge no more except to say that the two women’s lives become inextricably linked as they race to escape and survive the danger that is closing ...more

HADLEY AND GRACE is “Thelma and Louise” 2.0...with kids and less violence.

Fasten your seat belt guys, Hadley & Grace are here to take you on a ride!

I haven't watched Thelma & Louise yet, but I wish this book is converted into a movie. I absolutely loved this book. Right from the start, I was hooked on to it. You just cannot take your eyes from even a single sentence. The whole environment, the dialogues, the fluency in the language makes it seem so real as if you are a part of their journey. The end leaves you surprised.

"In the tradition of Thelma and Louise." - Yes please!

Suzanne Redfearn made me fall in love with this book and the main characters. Hadley and Grace portrays two women running from the men they're married to...ripped apart by abuse and addiction. The book depicts a touching story filled with strong themes of forgiveness, love, and betrayal but also two women who become friends during a crisis in their lives. The story revolves around the title characters who are seeking new liv

This was a very good book to read. It same to be very similar to the film Thelma and Louise which I love!! This was the sort of book that as you read it you could picture it all in your mind’s eye. It was fast-paced and kept the tension going all the way through. A great start to the new year of Prime First Reads.

**ARC provided by publisher in exchange for an honest review**

I honestly went into this book with no expectations, and I have to say what draw me primarily to the story was that it involved children. I probably wouldn't have decided to read it if it was just a book about two women running away and hiding from law enforcement. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book. It was a very engaging, unpredictable, and emotional story. The main characters are Hadley and Grace. Hadley is a t
A pleasant read, if a bit unrealistic.

Hadley & Grace, an unlikely duo, with a tag-along family consisting of a baby, an autistic grade-schooler, and a sullen teenager, cross the country in a Trains, Planes, and Automobiles-like adventure, on the run from the FBI, Hadley’s criminal husband Frank, and other local authorities.

The book kept my attention enough to finish it, yet I wasn’t “wow”-ed by the story. One thing I did enjoy, however, to see the personal growth of the characters throughout the

    Dramatic, impactful, and thought-provoking!

Hadley & Grace is a fast-paced, heart-pounding, thrilling novel that takes you into the life of an abused housewife and a disgruntled employee as coincidence and an unfortunate accident causes them to embark together on a wild ride of misfortune, chaos, and danger to escape their everyday lives.

The prose is eloquent and intense. The characters are multilayered, distressed, and impulsive. And the plot, reminiscent of the famous Ridley Scott film, Thelma

Suzanne Redfearn has done it again people! She has completely obliterated me with one of her stories.
I went into Hadley & Grace thinking it couldn't be as good as In An Instant. I mean Thelma & Louise is a movie from the 90s, the story about two renegade ladies running lose in the USA has been done and told and frankly the concept is a bit outdated.

Luckily, Redfearn realised this and changed Hadley & Grace enough to make it current. Apart from that, she makes it so that the story takes a hold

Author Suzanne Redfearn takes readers on a thrilling, heart-pounding road trip in this fantastic book. Hadley & Grace features two women on the run from their lives and their pasts, whose lives intersect and set them on a journey fraught with danger, three kids in tow. I always enjoy a book that is different from what else is out in the market. Hadley and Grace was just that kind - an exciting read where every chapter left me with a "What will happen next?" feeling. Two women on the run, three kids in tow, but not is all as it seems. Filled with heart, suspense, adventure, and thrills, this is a story that would equally feel at home on a screen. ...more

I read her book In An Instant earlier this year as part of Amazon’s first reads program. I absolutely loved it so of course I was very excited to read this one.

Hadley & Grace is a modern retelling of Thelma & Louise. I’ll be honest, I haven’t watched that movie though I will be now.

I really liked this author's "In an Instant", so this was an easy Kindle First Reads choice. This was fun and enjoyable, but requires great suspension of disbelief.

Hadley and Grace meet simply by coincidence, to steal Frank's (Hadley's abusive husband and Grace's sketchy boss) money. One disaster leads to another and they're on the run. The FBI are either incompetent or enamored with the women (hence the suspension of disbelief).

This starts out as a fun book about Hadley and Grace, both women trying to escape their lives. It quickly turns into a Thelma and Louise type of story. But, it is also different. It is a (mis)adventure. And, they are accompanied by a baby, a moody teenager and a special needs young boy.

Yes to the modern version of Thelma & Louise plus kids! I first became a fan of Suzanne Redfearn with her debut, Hush Little Baby. Her chilling tale of domestic abuse cemented me as a lifelong reader of hers.

While this novel includes a bit of that as well, it’s more about the bonds forged among two women and their families as they begin a journey “on the run” as they enter into some unforeseen circumstances.

Hadley and Grace’s lives intersect when they stumble in to each other at Hadley’s husband’s business. Both ladies have reasons to strike back at Hadley’s husband, and rather than wage separate wars against him, they reluctantly team up. This is touted as being similar to Thelma and Louise. There is action, suspense, love, and betrayal. I appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to be an early reader.

Required Mention Of Thelma And Louise Meets Fast And Furious. Redfearn blatantly admits that she set out to do a "modern" retelling of Thelma and Louise and to honor a guy she met at her restaurant. Here, she did both exceedingly well.
