When I read the premise of One Night in a Storm and the fact that Shay Savage was writing it, I knew the story would be good! How about being stranded with your high school crush and finding out his kink is to tie people up? Not in a serial killer way, of course, but in a kinky I-want-to-dominate-and-give-mind-blowing-pleasure sort of way. This is what happens to Kasinda, and Cree one stormy night. Trapped inside an old library while floodwaters rise, and Kas trying to stay calm while battling f ...more

A flooded-out library.
A shibari expert.
An anxious submissive.
If you ever wanted a little intro into the world of Shibari (Japanese rope bondage) then this is your book! A quick summer read that's perfect for the poolside as long as no one is reading over your shoulder! :D

"With the full length of his body pressed to mine, he reaches around and trails the end of the rope over my nipples. I hear him inhale deeply as he runs his nose up the side of my neck, and a shudder runs through my body."

I went into this story blind. I do that often so no big deal. I like being surprised.

What did I find?

The tired and dangerous notion of BDSM healing past trauma. It's as obnoxious as mag peen or mag vag.

I like how this author tries new things. Maybe next try won't be craptastic

If, like me, you already read and adore all of Shay's work you will not be disappointed with the first in her Kinksters series! And for those of you that haven't read her other work, what are you waiting for? I don't want to give too much away before the anticipated release (tomorrow!) 7/23. One Night in a Storm follows two college students and their journey not only through a massive storm that traps the two in an unusual circumstance, but brings together a friendship with possibly much more to ...more

This one is a 2019 Favourite for me. Absolutely LOVED it!

Shay drew a vivid picture of this young couple stranded in a flooding library in a storm. You could feel the characters anxiety, their connection and their chemistry.

Her imagery was perfection and the understanding & portrayal of shibari and the trust & peacefulness behind it was spot on. I could have read another thousand pages of those scenes.

Sexuality, consent, kink, self awareness - it’s all explored in this story and I cannot wait

I love that Shay Savage books are always so different yet always consistently good.

My go to for whenever I have readers block.

- i was interested in reading this book as (i thought) it primarily focused on shibari and i've never read any kind of romance/smut centered around this, but it ventured late in the book into something that i'm not interested in AT ALL and it was really unexpected, in my opinion. some people might still enjoy this, but it just wasn't my taste and it left me feeling a bit uncomfy :/

Dang this book was hot. Cree and Kas really had this amazing connection and I loved seeing it bloom in which a short time span. It was a very interesting introduction to rope and the erotic art of tying up your partner. From how the author wrote this book it got me all hot and bothered. We get a look at who the next book will about and then hike a fem-don t ally isn’t my think I plan to read it. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Hot, sexy read that will have you hooked from page one. Cree & Kas, I absolutely love their story. Being trapped in a library on a stormy night, you know things are going too heat up. Truly an interesting story and amazing characters that I really enjoyed. I can’t wait for Casey and Rocco’s story next.

It's not too long, around 180 pages, but they are pretty well written and I liked the characters very much. Learned lots about Shibari in the process.

If you are triggered by the idea of consensual non-consent, this might not be a book for you.

For me, it was a hot short read and I enjoyed it a lot. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
I received an ARC of this from the author.

I didn’t know what to expect going into this novel. Okay, well, I had a fairly good idea of the theme, but I didn’t know about the subject matter Shibari. So I went into this novel eyes wide open and willing for anything.

It’s on the shorter side of novels--a bit larger than a novella, but shorter than typical novels. So as a result of this, at first, I wasn’t loving the book. I found that there wasn’t enough character development in this novel. And thu

I Love Shibari, heck I love every style of Rope Bondage out there, I was so excited to read a romance book that focused primarily it.
The writing form through half the beginning didn’t meet the usual writing style (to me) of the Author, I didn’t expect the blatantly awkward

This 3.5 star story was not what I was expecting at all. I’ll give high five to the author for coming up with this creative storyline. Even if I didn’t fully connect with it, it doesn’t mean others won’t.

Cree and Kas get stuck over night in the library. A raging storm outside and raging passion inside.

This story is about a bizarre form of BDSM with ropes. My understanding of the entire thing was scarce at times. Since I had a difficult time with the storyline, I lacked interest. I do have to

When Kas and Cree get stuck in the library during a storm, things take a scary turn and they are forced to the second floor. The two begin to have conversation (of course) and by sort of accident Kas learns what Cree's "hobby" is. The more Kas learns, the more interested she becomes. Will a night in a storm bring these two closer, or will what Kas learns be too much for her to handle?

This was the perfect lunch time read, just long enough to get the story out but not t

I'm never disappointed by a Shay Savage book. She delivers on uniqueness, adventure, sex appeal and strong women. Getting stuck in a library during a rain storm turned flood can be scary, but add a Dom that plays with rope and anything is manageable. It's novella sized yet reads like a novel, giving readers the excitement and suspense of being trapped and then the thrill of another new adventure with rope play. Cree and Kas are great multidimensional characters, each with a past and a story to c ...more

Shay Savage is one of those writers that I see publishing books that I know I will never read and I still say I adore her because she writes in so many different genres and her characters are so crazy and unique that if this book is not my kind of thing, the next one will.

She has written about time travel in which the heroine ends up falling in love with a caveman, a sweet contemporary romance between a neurotypical and a boy with autism, romances about failed scientific experiments, CEO’s and m

Talk about steamy! Two former high school classmates end up locked in their college library during a storm. Kas was shy and withdrawn in high school, with a crush on Cree, and still deals with some fears and anxiety. Cree is a psychology major with an affinity for rope. During the storm, Kas’ anxiety spikes and Cree tries to distract her. Well, mission definitely accomplished.

I liked Cree’s explanation of rope and how he views it as both a therapeutic tool and a sexual kink. Kas has some preconc

Trashy TV & trashy books are the perfect pairing.

When I came upon Shibari in the précis after first hearing about the practice from Netflix's delightfully BLANK dating reality tv show Too Hot to Handle, I knew I had to read this. And while the novella did a great job of explaining Shibari further, the premise of the plot was as ridiculously sex-fantasy-esque as you'd expect from a self-published work. (Sorry, not sorry.)

It's been a while since i read a Shay Savage book and i missed it !
This quick read was good and interesting. I'm not into Shibari but it was well explained.
I do believe the characters, especially Kas needed more time to really comprehend everything and also maybe to develop more the story.
It was hot and i wanted to know more. I'm curious about the next couple, so i'll definitely come back !

This looks to be a novella type series

Cree and Kas find themselves stranded in a library during a fierce thunderstorm and heavy rain. Little did they realize that not braving a walk home in the drenching storm, that they would become stranded in a fast flooding library. Luckily, there is a second floor where they can wait for rescue. Cree, the psychology student, lives life on the kinky side. Kas has changed since high school and has very little experience. But when they’re stuck together, they
