Heartwarming, adorable, & a much needed feel-good escape!!

WHO RESCUED WHO by VICTORIA SCHADE is a charming, engaging, fun, cute, quick, and steadily paced read that was both emotional and humorous to read. What I really enjoyed most about the storyline is that it doesnt immediately grab your attention; it grows on you as you get invested in these characters. There was just the right amount of character struggles, family secrets, romance, and self-discovery here to make it a lighthearted

This was such a heart warming, and personally eye opening story for me. It was a good balance of family, romance, and of course some furry friends! It has a slow start, but you really get invested into the charming characters, town, and journey. Step aside Hallmark, Who Rescued Who is a league of its own! Side note, there is no animal harm or death in this book. (If you are triggered by that as I am).

I loved this so, so much. It made me laugh and cry, but mostly it made me want to throw away my phone, buy some sheep and move to the English countryside to rescue dogs and live in a rom-com.

This book took me by total surprise! I expected not to like to just because it's not my normal genre & I don't like romance but the family aspect & of course all the animals really just brought it home for me. I loved seeing the main characters transformation.
This is a book u can't put down & that makes u miss the characters. I wanted to move to England, live that country life, & hang out with them & def play with the animals.

This was a delightful little book although it was not what I had expected. It is a romantic novel with some bits of dealing with rescue animals..and for that I was delighted. It's not the usual genre that I read but I did enjoy it. Elizabeth aka Bess struggles with her true self, her passion vs. doing what brings her Big Money. It's New York with all it's business, the career in tech, $$, superficial relationships aka blogs and vlogs vs. the U.K., following her passion in the art world, finding ...more

I read this novel curled up with my foster dog, with tears in my eyes at times. If you love travel to the English countryside, dogs, and seeing where life can unexpectedly take you, grab this novel! When life gets rough, the reality of a surprise inheritance, newly discovered relatives and a local romantic interest, can certainly shake things up! I enjoyed this ARC on many levels!

Thank you Berkley Publishing {partner} for my gifted copy of Who Rescued Who by Victoria Schade, in exchange for my honest review. Publication date 3/24/20. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I never dreamed losing my job would bring me to this place. Ive always been a city girl, thriving on the constant motion and activity. Things are different here, the people are different here. Life in Fargrove is simple, laid-back, primitive in a lot of ways. They live life intentionally, build bonds deeply, and support each other

**Note: I got this book as an advanced reading copy from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for sharing a fair, honest review. The opinions expressed are definitely my own!

What I liked:
*I am such a huge fan of all things British, so I loved the American-in-England theme and seeing the small English farm town through the eyes of Elizabeth. It added humor and also a real sweetness to the story, and I gobbled that up.
*The central theme of the rescue dog and how that changes

Elizabeth Barnes's father, a professor of English, died six months ago, leaving a will that required that his ahses be scattered in a particular river in England. This request was a complete surprise to her and she has no real notion of what to do about it. She was also, until quite recently, very busy, as the Chief Marketing Officer of a video gaming company in San Francisco. Now, though, she's unemployed and her reputation is toast, because she was working for a company that run by a ...more

Elizabeth, aka Bess, gets fired from her high tech Silicon Valley job at Dutchess Games. It also seems that she knows something about the top woman of her former social media company that said much about the bad nature of the product they were selling. For now, Elizabeth is overwhelmed and is taking a short trip to England to visit her fathers relatives. These are not people she even knew were alive before now; however, it turns out she has inherited a piece of property. It seems vague and ...more

I needed a change of pace in my reading and picking up this book was the perfect choice.

Elizabeth Barnes was flying high until she wasnt. Fired from a job she loved she was at loose ends until she finds out she had family she knew nothing about and an inheritance to boot. We follow Elizabeth across the pond as she settles her fathers affairs. She had planned just a quick trip so she can get back home and find new employment. But a cute little homeless puppy has her extending

Is it even possible to walk by this book and not be completely drawn to it?! I mean look at those big brown puppy dog eyes! I was done for when I saw this cover and knew it was a must read.

Can you tell that I like dogs? Well yes I adore dogs and this cover spoke to my dog lover heart and when I saw that it was written by a dog training professional I was intrigued.

I mean its not every day that one goes from training dogs to writing books and I thought this would be a fun quick way to spend a few

Did anyone even know she was alive? Did anyone care?

This was one of my highly-anticipated Spring 2020 reads, and Victoria Schade did not disappoint. We meet Elizabeth Barnes as she loses her high-powered job at a tech start-up after a disastrous comment in an interview. During her time of despair, a man claiming to be her uncle reaches out to her about a plot of land that belonged to her deceased father. With nothing else to do, Elizabeth heads to Fargrove, a tiny town in England. Dubbed "Bess" by charming relatives, she quickly learns that there ...more

Oh, this was so much fun, the perfect charming story for any dog or animal lover.

When Elizabeths father passes away, she travels to his family homestead in England, but she arrives with baggage. Shes lost her job and is feeling miffed with the world.

That is, until she rescues an adorable puppy, forges a relationship with her aunt and uncle, and falls in love with some sheep, more dogs, and a man, of course. All these things happening make it hard for her go back to California. Will she stay in

NOTE: I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Penguin Random House in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book! The main character, Elizabeth, is a workaholic, addicted to social media, who gets fired at the beginning of the book. Just when she thinks her life as she knows it is ruined, she receives a complete shock, finding out she has relatives she didnt know she had. Informed that shes received an inheritance, she initially thinks it is a joke. However, some of the

This book is strongest when focusing on the family and personal development, versus, the relationship. The romance was definitely the weakest part of this book.

It does a very good job of focusing on the reality vs presentation of a glamorous life on social media, and what is really important in having a fulfilling life. The relationship between the protagonist and her family is charming, and genuine, and there was a good balance of bittersweet and funny. There were lots of relationships with

And Victoria Schade knows dogs - shes an Animal Planet celebrity after all! And this sweet and adorable story about a rescued puppy and the woman who finds it, is just the heartwarming read we all need right now.

A thoroughly enjoyable book. From the cover to the ending I loved almost every aspect of the story. This is a fun and lighthearted book. Georgina like any other dog steals my heart in this book. However, she is not the only one. I loved everyone in this story from Elizabeth to her Uncle Rowan and his wife, Trudy; then there is Nicky, Harriet, Des, Anna, Willard, and love interest, James.

Everyone was so personable and friendly that you just want to hang out with them. Which I really appreciated the lighthearted tone of this book. There were many moments where I did find myself smiling and even

Who Rescued Who is just what it sounds like: an incredibly cozy story set in a picturesque English village full of livestock and puppies and shoddy WiFi. The characters are great, the relationships (familial, romance, friendships) are all excellent, there's even a hefty dose of art piled on! If you're going to be shut inside for weeks on end, you could do worse than this book. Who Rescued Who is a lovely, quick read perfect for a much-needed pick me up.

It has everything from family, friends, romance, England, and of course dogs!
I thought it would be more about dogs but it's really about people and family and, life.
I think this would make a fantastic Hallmark type movie as I hated to put it down, but you have to sleep sometime so I at least had something to look forward to the next day.
